Non-thermal C/H/Ar plasmas are widely applied to carbonaceous material production and processing.In this work,plasma parameters and gaseous species of the atmospheric non-thermal C/H/Ar plasmas produced by an atmosphe...Non-thermal C/H/Ar plasmas are widely applied to carbonaceous material production and processing.In this work,plasma parameters and gaseous species of the atmospheric non-thermal C/H/Ar plasmas produced by an atmospheric-pressure DC arc discharge generator in CH_4/Ar were investigated.The voltage-current characteristics were measured for different CH_4/Ar ratios.Optical emission spectroscopy was employed to analyze the electron excitation temperature,gas temperature and electron density under various discharge conditions.The hydrocarbon molecules produced in the CH4/Ar plasmas were detected with photoionization mass spectrometry.The optical spectral results demonstrated that the electron excitation temperature was 0.4-1 eV,the gas temperature was 2800-4200 K and the electron density was in the range of(5-20)×10^15 cm^-3.The mass spectrum indicated that a variety of unsaturated hydrocarbons(C2H4,C3H6,C6H6,etc.) and several highly unsaturated hydrocarbons(C4H2,C5H6,etc.) were produced in the non-thermal arc plasmas.展开更多

The atmospheric pressure chemical ionization/time of flight mass spectrometry (APCI/TOF MS) was applied to determine the mass of five α allenic alcohols via their protonated molecular ions using positive ion ...The atmospheric pressure chemical ionization/time of flight mass spectrometry (APCI/TOF MS) was applied to determine the mass of five α allenic alcohols via their protonated molecular ions using positive ion mode. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) was used as the internal reference. All results were obtained under the resolution of about 5000 FWHM (full width at the half maximum). Solvent effects were studied and the satisfied results were obtained in acetonitrile. Compared with the theoretical values, all absolute errors were less than 1.0 mmu. The effects of nozzle potential, push pulse potential, pull pulse potential, pull bias potential and acquisition rate on exact mass determination were also discussed. APCI/TOF MS is proven to be a very sensitive analytical technique and an alternative ionization mode in analyzing thermally labile compounds with relatively weak polarity, such as α allenic alcohol.展开更多

Research on pollution characteristics and toxicities of emerging polycyclic aromatic sulfur heterocycles(PASHs) in PM_(2.5) has not been reported due to the lack of analytical method with the needed performance.In the...Research on pollution characteristics and toxicities of emerging polycyclic aromatic sulfur heterocycles(PASHs) in PM_(2.5) has not been reported due to the lack of analytical method with the needed performance.In the present study,a novel method for the determination of 14 PASHs in PM_(2.5) was developed using atmospheric pressure gas chro matography-tandem mass spectrometry(APGC-MS/MS).Atmospheric pressure chemical ionization was operated with multiple reaction monitoring in positive ionization mode.High sensitivity(method detection limit <1.673 pg/m^(3)),acceptable re coveries(67.6%-120.8%) and precisions(RSD of 2.2%-15.4%) were obtained.The method was successfully applied for analyzing PASHs in 10 PM_(2.5) samples collected from Taiyuan,a typical industrial city in China,in 2016,The total concentrations were from 929 pg/m^(3) to 14,593 pg/m^(3).The determined levels indicated that further investigations on environmental fate and toxicities of PM_(2.5)-bound PASHs may be needed.展开更多
