Although this manliness is effaced on the surface, regarding the powerful images within, male authority still keeps running through the whole work. Hegemonic masculinity"presents"in manifold transformed and metaphorical forms, invisibly dictating the development of the protagonists and plots. This paper, giving a masculine reading through R.W. Connell's lens, aims to analyze and crystallize McEwan's such male writing, and finally to reach his real concerns: to deconstruct patriarchal culture, to defy dominant discourse, and to build a new order that opens up a real equality and coexistence for both the two sexes.展开更多

The bHLH protein Atonal was first identified as a proneural gene involved in the formation of mechanosensory cells and photoreceptor cells in Drosophila (larman et al., 1993, 1994). Atonal is expressed in sensory organ precursors and is required and sufficient for the development of chordotonal organs (Jar- man et al., 1993). Moreover, Atonal expression is observed in the developing eye and is essential for the differentiation of R8 photoreceptors, which are the first photoreceptors that appear during development. Atonal is not involved in the formation of other photoreceptors (R1-R7) directly. However, R8 photore- ceptors recruit other photoreceptors from the surrounding cells (Jarman et al., 1994).展开更多

These weight modules have infinite- dimensional weight spaces if and only if V is infinite dimensional. In this paper, we will determine necessary and sufficient conditions for these modules Fα(V) to be irreducible. In this way, we obtain a lot of irreducible weight A1(1)-modules with infinite-dimensional weight spaces.展开更多

When the group in question is P SL(2, R), the authors exhibit a oneone correspondence between bounded harmonic functions on the upper half-plane and a certain class of irreducible representations. This analysis shows that, surprisingly, all these representations are equivalent. In fact, it is found that all irreducible affine representations of this group are equivalent. The key to this is a property called "linear Stone-Weierstrass"for group actions on compact spaces. If it holds for the "universal strongly proximal space"of the group(to be defined), then the induced action on the space of probability measures on this space is the unique irreducible affine representation of the group.展开更多
