Patient education is defined as the process of influencing a patient’s behavior and helping them make the necessary changes to their knowledge, attitudes, and skills to maintain or improve their health. It is a crucial part of patient care, and the EHS ambulatory care healthcare system is giving patient education more importance. Many experts claim that nurses still have difficulties providing patient education because of a range of factors, which include a lack of expertise and numerous other obstacles. Moreover, there isn’t any published research that studies nurses’ attitudes, knowledge, and patient-teaching practices in primary healthcare in the United Arab Emirates. The research project aims to investigate the knowledge, attitude, and practice of patient teaching among nurses in primary health care centers to better understand how nurse knowledge and attitudes may affect nurse-performed patient education. The target population is nurses working in primary healthcare centers in Sharjah, Ajman, Dubai, Ras Al-Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain. However, the sample size is 300 using a random cluster sampling technique. The participants were encouraged to take part in the study (KAPPTNQ) through an online survey. The study concludes that the majority of nurses are knowledgeable about patient education;a large proportion of the nurses have a positive attitude toward patient education;and the majority of the nurses have a positive practice of patient education. However, the major challenges nurses encounter with patients’ health teaching include language barriers, inadequate communication, ineffective time management, and cultural impacts on patient health education. . 展开更多

The combination of online teaching and traditional offline teaching can maximize the advantages of both.Based on the blended teaching of English Reading course,39 students were selected as the research subjects to study the relationship between their online learning attitudes and their grades in the final examination.Judged from the number of times for each student to download teaching resources, the number of assignments submitted online, and the quality of the submitted assignments, each student’s attitude toward online learning was examined comprehensively, and a correlation analysis was conducted through SPSS Statistics 21.0 to explore the influence of online learning attitude on English reading performance.Through data collection and analysis of the online learning attitudes over a 16-week period,a significant positive correlation was found between the online learning attitudes and the English reading grades, indicating that the online learning attitude in the blended learning model plays a crucial role in improving the English reading skill, and students should maintain a positive attitude toward online teaching in blended learning. 展开更多

Admittedly cognitive variables such as intelligence and aptitude exert great impact on English learning. Affective variables, however, are of intense importance in determining English learning as well, because affect is a starting machine that sets the learning mechanism in motion and learning will run into difficulty if affect does not work properly. Besides, there is mounting interest in exploring the affective domain. Therefore, this paper focuses upon the analyses of four affective variables(attitude, motivation, self-esteem and anxiety) that have bearings on English learning and sets forth Implications for English teaching. 展开更多

During the last three decades, attitudes have played a major role in second/foreign language learning research. Scholars have found that a more positive attitude towards the target language improves second/foreign language learning. In order to contribute to this area of research, this study focuses on Chilean EFL learners with different proficiency levels (i.e., beginner, intermediate, and advanced) and their attitudes toward learning English, the English language itself, and the L2 community. By gathering data through a questionnaire and analysing it using SPSS, significant differences were found among the learners' groups, and their attitudes toward English. These findings will be discussed further in this study together with previous research. 展开更多

The purpose of the study was to evaluate Jamaican early childhood pre-service teachers’attitudes towards mathematics. The study is designed according to the quantitative survey model in the descriptive type.In this study,a modified version of the Fennema-Sherman mathematics attitude scale was used to measure the mathematics attitude of 144 early childhood pre-service teachers in four different categories of the attitude scale(mathematics usefulness, confidence in learning mathematics, mathematics anxiety, and mathematics motivation). The data were collected from participants in the five teachers’colleges that offer the early childhood education program in Jamaica. The findings revealed that Jamaican early childhood pre-service teachers generally have a more positive attitude towards mathematics.A comparison among the different year groups revealed that a significantly greater percentage of the Year two group of participants possessed a more positive mathematics attitude than the other year groups.A significantly higher percentage of the Year three group indicated that they do not want to teach the subject in the future. The findings have implications for the teaching and learning of mathematics in the early childhood education program in Jamaica and,by extension, the teaching and learning of mathematics at the early childhood level of the education system. 展开更多

This paper explores college students' attitudes toward Chinglish through a questionnaire. A primary finding is that most college students accept Chinglish as legitimate communication, considering it to be 1) a tool to energize or vivify the social atmosphere, and 2) a source of catchwords and phrases specifically employed in communication with friends. Despite their acceptance and use of Chinglish, the questionnaire reveals, also, that college students lack linguistic understanding of Chinglish and are unaware of how it may interfere with acquisition of correct English. The analysis of the questionnaire also has some implications in college English teaching. 展开更多
