Mobile Application Development is a well-known undergraduate specialized course majoring in Computer Science and Software Engineering.Since it is a rapid developing technique and requires extensive project samples to help understand,current teaching mechanism has still limitations in rare real project examples,outdated course contents,and lack of automatic assessment platforms.In order to improve the teaching effects and cultivate students’practical ability,we employ this teaching reform with industrial projects,double instructors,and automatic assessment platform to allow students participating in every course process.We aim to improve students’practical and collaboration ability during conducting the project spontaneously,and cultivate their awareness of self-learning and lifelong learning.Our classroom feedback has demonstrated that this teaching reform is effective on improving students’practical abilities,learning initiatives and comprehensive qualities. 展开更多

Due to its advantages of objectiveness, automation, accuracy and fastness in various applications, the technology of computer vision has become one of the studying hotspots in the area of the objective inspection and assessment of textiles apparent properties during the past two decades in the world. Both a brief review of its applications in the recent decade both at home and abroad to the automatic inspection and assessment of the various apparent properties of the textiles, such as yarn, woven fabrics and knitting fabrics, carpet fabrics, nonwoven fabrics and textile webs, etc., and a detailed introduction to the research work including the objective evaluation of fabric wrinkle grade, automatic fabric defects detection and assessment of fabric pilling grade, etc., that was conducted by our research section, i.e., Computer Vision’s Textiles Application Research Section, College of Textiles, Dong Hua University, have been provided. Experimental results have proved the feasibilities of the approaches used by us in the applications to the objective inspection and assessment of fabric apparent properties, and also indicated that the technology of computer vision is a power tool for the objective and automatic inspection and assessment of textiles apparent properties, and that it has a bright application future. 展开更多

Methods for pressure sore monitoring remain both a clinical and research challenge.Improved methodologies could assist physicians in developing prompt and effective pressure sore interventions.In this paper a technique is introduced for the assessment of pressure sores in guinea pigs,using captured color images.Sores were artificially induced,utilizing a system particularly developed for this purpose.Digital images were obtained from the suspicious region in days 3 and 7 post-pressure sore generation.Different segments of the color images were divided and labeled into three classes,based on their severity status.For quantitative analysis,a color based texture model,which is invariant against monotonic changes in illumination,is proposed.The texture model has been developed based on the local binary pattern operator.Tissue segments were classified,using the texture model and its features as inputs to a combination of neural networks.Our method is capable of discriminating tissue segments in different stages of pressure sore generation,and therefore can be a feasible tool for the early assessment of pressure sores. 展开更多
