In recent years,countries worldwide have actively advocated electric vehicles for environmental protection.How-ever,restrictions on the driving range and charging have hampered the promotion of electric vehicles.This ...In recent years,countries worldwide have actively advocated electric vehicles for environmental protection.How-ever,restrictions on the driving range and charging have hampered the promotion of electric vehicles.This study proposes a portable,auxiliary photovoltaic power system based on a foldable scissors mechanism for electric vehicles.The system includes a photovoltaic power generation module and an electricity transfer module.The photovoltaic power generation module built based on a foldable scissors mechanism is five times smaller than in its unfolded state,improving its portability in its folded state.The electricity transfer module transfers electricity into the cabin via wireless power transfer units and stores electricity in supercapacitors.Solar simulation exper-iments were conducted to evaluate the system’s performance:maximum output power of 1.736 W is measured when the load is 5Ω,while maximum wireless power transfer efficiency is up to 57.7% with 10Ω load.An elec-tric vehicle in Chengdu city was simulated for a case study.The results show that the annual output of a single photovoltaic power system can drive the MINIEV for 423.625 km,indicating that the proposed system would be able to supply power for electric vehicles as an auxiliary power supply system.展开更多

A nonlinear dynamic model and a distributed state estimator are combined for the distributed...This paper addresses the gas path component and sensor fault diagnosis and isolation(FDI) for the auxiliary power unit(APU). A nonlinear dynamic model and a distributed state estimator are combined for the distributed control system. The distributed extended Kalman filter(DEKF)is served as a state estimator,which is utilized to estimate the gas path components’ flow capacity. The DEKF includes one main filter and five sub-filter groups related to five sensors of APU and each sub-filter yields local state flow capacity. The main filter collects and fuses the local state information,and then the state estimations are feedback to the sub-filters. The packet loss model is introduced in the DEKF algorithm in the APU distributed control architecture. FDI strategy with a performance index named weight sum of squared residuals(WSSR) is designed and used to identify the APU sensor fault by removing one sub-filter each time. The very sensor fault occurs as its performance index WSSR is different from the remaining sub-filter combinations. And the estimated value of the soft redundancy replaces the fault sensor measurement to isolate the fault measurement. It is worth noting that the proposed approach serves for not only the sensor failure but also the hybrid fault issue of APU gas path components and sensors. The simulation and comparison are systematically carried out by using the APU test data,and the superiority of the proposed methodology is verified.展开更多

In recent years,Internet of Things(IoT)technology has emerged and gradually sprung up.As the needs of largescale IoT applications cannot be satisfied by the fifth generation(5G)network,wireless communication network n...In recent years,Internet of Things(IoT)technology has emerged and gradually sprung up.As the needs of largescale IoT applications cannot be satisfied by the fifth generation(5G)network,wireless communication network needs to be developed into the sixth generation(6G)network.However,with the increasingly prominent security problems of wireless communication networks such as 6G,covert communication has been recognized as one of the most promising solutions.Covert communication can realize the transmission of hidden information between both sides of communication to a certain extent,which makes the transmission content and transmission behavior challenging to be detected by noncooperative eavesdroppers.In addition,the integrated high altitude platform station(HAPS)terrestrial network is considered a promising development direction because of its flexibility and scalability.Based on the above facts,this article investigates the covert communication in an integrated HAPS terrestrial network,where a constant power auxiliary node is utilized to send artificial noise(AN)to realize the covert communication.Specifically,the covert constraint relationship between the transmitting and auxiliary nodes is derived.Moreover,the closed-form expressions of outage probability(OP)and effective covert communication rate are obtained.Finally,numerical results are provided to verify our analysis and reveal the impacts of critical parameters on the system performance.展开更多

An adaptive controller is provided to achieve the coordinated control between the engine speed and the battery charging voltage. The proposed adaptive coordinated control laws for the throttle angle of the engine and the voltage of the power-converter can guarantee not only the asymptotic tracking performance of the engine speed and the regulation of the battery charging voltage, but also the robust stability of the closed loop system under external load changes. An auxiliary power supply(Aux-PS)has become an essential component of electronic equipment for many industrial applications,such as in motor drives,photovoltaic(PV)inverters,uninterruptible power supply(UPS)systems an...An auxiliary power supply(Aux-PS)has become an essential component of electronic equipment for many industrial applications,such as in motor drives,photovoltaic(PV)inverters,uninterruptible power supply(UPS)systems and modular multilevel converters.The introduction of 1700 V silicon carbide(SiC)metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors(MOSFETs)is useful for such applications,providing benefits with respect to a low on-state resistance,smaller package,low switching loss and single-switching implementation.A single end flyback Aux-PS is designed for industrial applications with a wide input voltage range using 1.7 kV SiC MOSFETs.The special design tradeoffs involved in the usage of SiC MOSFETs are discussed in detail,such as those with regard to gate driving voltage selection,isolation transformer design considerations,and clamping circuit design details.A 60 W demonstration hardware is developed and tested under different working conditions.The results verify the higher efficiency and better thermal performance of the proposed hardware relative to those of traditional Si solutions.展开更多

The calculation formulas for the maintenance coefficient, mathematical expressions for general availability growth models, ways for estimating, and fitting on checking the parameters of the model are introduced. Availability growth models for electric generating units, power station auxiliaries, and transmission and distribution installations are given together with verification examples for availability growth models of 320–1000 MW nuclear power units and 1000 MW thermal power units, 200–1000 MW power station auxiliaries, and 220–500 kV transmission and distribution installations. The verification results for operation availability data show that the maintenance coefficients for electric generating units, power station auxiliaries, transmission and distribution installations conform to the power function, and general availability growth models conform to rules of availability growth tendency of power equipment.展开更多
