The Drought, Flood and Waterlogging Damage (DFWD) study is related to many subjects such as meteorology and climatology, hydrology, geography, and agricultural science In the aforementioned subjects, substantial work has been done on DFWD study by a lot of researchers from the views of their specialities This paper tries to introduce the recent progress on the field Four main problems are referred to the DFWD study, they are as following: (1) The change sequence in historical period The historical data must be quantatitively processed For this purpose, many schemes were suggested in the past years Studies of the historical DFWD have been emphasized in the last fivehundred years as well as the other time scales (2) The mechanism and trigger event Natural disasters are related to factors disastrous to human activities in the evolution of physical environment, and they can reflect natural features of constitution of the physical environment The factors include the monsoon circulation, the sea tempereature effects, the ENSO, and the others (3) The loss estimation The DFWD is not a pure meteorological damage, and it is also a complex ecological damage The ecological effects, crop influences and other socialenvironment features will be considered on the estimation of DFWD loss (4) The measures of prevention and control Many forecast models are developed, and the measures of prevention and control are suggested, ie, the adoption of measures combining engineering techniques with biological measurres In the past years, advances have been made in those four aspects 展开更多

In this paper the effect of ion-exchange simplified as water handling on basic zeolitewas studied. It was foond that the interaction between chemisorbed water and Na+-O2- couplewould increase the total number of basic sites, while weaken the intensity of each basic sites.Theprocess can be explained by the adsorb model of organic acid on NaX presented before. 展开更多

BACKGROUND In rotator cuff repair surgery, the double-row technique is widely performed.Studies have shown that with increased contact area and pressure between tendon and bone interface, better healing is promoted.AIM To assess the different suture configurations with the double-row technique and how this influences the contact area of the rotator cuff tendon to bone.METHODS This was a controlled laboratory study where identical tears were created in 24 fresh porcine shoulders over a 1.5 cm×2.5 cm infraspinatus insertion footprint.Double-row repair techniques, with 3 to 4-suture anchors in different configurations(2 medial,2 lateral vs 2 medial,1 lateral vs 1 medial,2 lateral),were employed for three control groups. Each group consisted of eight shoulders with identical repair configurations.Footprint contact areas of the repaired tendon against the tuberosity were determined using pressure sensitive Fujifilm placed between the tendon and tuberosity.RESULTS The mean contact area between tendon and insertion footprint from the imprinted Fujifilm was obtained using computer software. The contact area measured from a standard 4-suture anchor double row repair was 75.1±9.3 mm2,whereas areas obtained for the 2 lateral-1 medial and 2 medial-1 lateral anchor configurations were 72.9±5.2 mm2 and 75.0±4.9 mm2 respectively. No statistical significance was noted between the three groups.CONCLUSION In the technique of double-row repair, using a 3-suture anchor configuration may offer a non-inferior alternative to the standard 4-anchor construct in terms of efficacy. This may also result in overall cost reduction and shorter surgical time. 展开更多

The relation between the basic currents of the low latitudes and the initiation of typhoons is investigated statistic-ally and synoptically by means of recent aerological data. It is shown that about 80% of typhoons developed in the eastern part of the equatorial convergence zone between the equatorial westerlies and trade wind of West Pacific Ocean. The equatorial westerly is a large scale and quasi-steady phenomenon; therefore, it is probably reasonable to be called "basic current" and typhoons are considered as vortices of smaller scale. There is a quite definite relation- ship between the time, position, frequency of the initiation of typhoons and the position, strength of the basic cur-rents in the low latitudes. There is a quasi-periodical variation of the strength and position of the basic currents with a period longer than one month. This fact may be helpful for the extended forecast the initiation and development of ty-phoons. 展开更多

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has an ancient history and unique system, including theory, methodology, prescription, formulation and medicines. There are differences between TCM and chemical drugs. For TCM, the multiple components in vivo are possibly to be detected; the number of components is relatively restricted; they could represent the therapeutic effect of the parent recipe; the concentrations and pharmacokinetics (PK) could affected by the combination of traditional medicines in recipe; the effects of new bioactive compounds (metabolites) related with those of their recipe; and the PK can be affected by body state in TCM treatment significantly. Therefore, the difficulty and challenge are far greater in PK study of TCMs than the chemical drugs. 展开更多

Objective To investigate the effect of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) on limb ischemia/reperfusion injury of rats and the mechanism Methods The hind limb ischemia/reperfusion injury of male SD rats was induced by tourniquet for 2 hours and then reperfusing for 12 hours with administration of different agents Animals were divided into control, bFGF 10 and bFGF 50, VEGF 10 and VEGF 50 group by infusing physiological saline, 10 and 50?μg/kg bFGE, 10 and 50?μg/kg VEGF, respectively Blood was collected to determine malonyldialdehyde (MDA), and the ischemic reperfused gastrocnemius muscle and the contralateral control one were harvested together for measurement of tissue viability, water content, myeloperoxidose (MPO) activity, ATP and MDA concentration Results Compared with control group, tissue viability of ischemia/reperfusion limb in bFGF 10 and bFGF 50 group increased by 16 0% ( P <0 05) and 32 8% ( P <0 01), ATP content increased by 14 8% and 35 6% ( P <0 01), and plasma MDA level decreased by 45 2% and 56 2% ( P <0 01) 10?μg/kg bFGF had no significant effect on tissue water content, MPO activity, MDA concentration of ischemia/reperfusion limb, while 50?μg/kg of bFGF lowered these values by 15 7%, 32 5% and 13 6% ( P <0 05) and 14 7% ( P <0 01), MPO activity augmented by 44 9% and 96 1% ( P <0 01), ATP content decreased by 13 1% ( P <0 05) and 33 3% ( P <0 01) Plasma and tissue MDA concentrations in VEGF 10 group had no significant changes ( P >0 05), while in VEGF 50 group, these values were elevated by 46 4% and 38 6% ( P <0 01) Conclusion bFGF attenuated, while VEGF exacerbated ischemia/reperfusion injury of rat limb significantly, the mechanism of which was probably related to preventing or enhancing lipid peroxide, and increasing or decreasing energy store 展开更多
