Beam Pattern Synthesis Based on Hybrid Optimization Algorithm

As conventional methods for beam pattern synthesis can not always obtain the desired optimum pattern for the arbitrary underwater acoustic sensor arrays,a hybrid numerical synthesis method based on adaptive principle and genetic algorithm was presented in this paper.First,based on the adaptive theory,a given array was supposed as an adaptive array and its sidelobes were reduced by assigning a number of interference signals in the sidelobe region.An initial beam pattern was obtained after several iterations and adjustments of the interference intensity,and based on its parameters,a desired pattern was created.Then,an objective function based on the difference between the designed and desired patterns can be constructed.The pattern can be optimized by using the genetic algorithm to minimize the objective function.A design example for a double-circular array demonstrates the effectiveness of this method.Compared with the approaches existing before,the proposed method can reduce the sidelobe effectively and achieve less synthesis magnitude error in the mainlobe.The method can search for optimum attainable pattern for the specific elements if the desired pattern can not be found. 展开更多

In this paper, Beam Pattern Scanning (BPS), a transmit diversity technique, is compared with two well known transmit diversity techniques, space-time block coding (STBC) and space-time trellis coding (STTC). In BPS (also called beam pattern oscillation), controlled time varying weight vectors are applied to the antenna array elements mounted at the base station (BS). This creates a small movement in the antenna array pattern directed toward the desired user. In rich scattering environments, this small beam pattern movement creates an artificial fast fading channel. The receiver is designed to exploit time diversity benefits of the fast fading channel. Via the application of simple combining techniques, BPS improves the probability-of-error performance and network capacity with minimal cost and complexity. In this work, to highlight the potential of the BPS, we compare BPS and Space-Time Coding (i.e., STBC and STTC) schemes. The comparisons are in terms of their complexity, system physical dimension, network capacity, probability-of-error performance, and spectrum efficiency. It is shown that BPS leads to higher network capacity and performance with a smaller antenna dimension and complexity with minimal loss in spectrum efficiency. This identifies BPS as a promising scheme for future wireless communications with smart antennas. 展开更多

Achieving Directionality and Transmit Diversity via Integrating Beam Pattern Scanning (BPS) Antenna Arrays and OFDM

In this paper, we introduce a novel merger of antenna arrays with scanning beam patterns, and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Controlled time varying phase shifts are applied to the antenna array elements mounted at the base station with beam patterns directed toward the desired user. This creates a small beam pattern movement called Beam Pattern Scanning (BPS). In rich scattering environments BPS creates a time varying environment leading to time diversity exploitable at the receiver enhances its probability-of-error performance. Here, we apply OFDM signals to BPS antenna arrays, and we achieve: (1) directionality, which supports Space Division Multiple Access (SDMA);and (2) a time diversity gain, which leads to high performance. We discuss the structure of the base station antenna array and the OFDM receiver that exploits time diversity. We also introduce the merger of BPS and multi-carrier OFDM (MC-OFDM) systems. In MC-OFDM each bit is transmitted over all sub-carriers after serial to parallel conversion. BPS/ MC-OFDM receiver exploits both time diversity inherent in BPS, and frequency diversity inherent in MC-OFDM transmission technique. Simulation results show high Probability-of-error performance is achie- vable via BPS/OFDM and BPS/MC-OFDM schemes comparing to the traditional OFDM and MC-OFDM, respectively. Simulations also reveal that MC-OFDM system as well as its merger with BPS is capable of mitigating large Peak-to-Average Ratio (PAPR) problem in traditional OFDM system. In addition, performance simulations with coded OFDM (COFDM) and coded MC-OFDM (MC-COFDM) and their merger with BPS are studied. 展开更多

By using GaN CLs,the radiation angle of the laser beam θ⊥ is only 10.1° in the direction perpendicular to the junction plane. After forming a deeply etched mesa, the beam divergence angle parallel to the junction plane of FFP, θ;, increases from4.9° to 5.8°. After using the modified structure, the operation voltage of LD is effectively reduced by 2 V at an injection current of 50 mA, but the threshold current value increases. The etching damage may be one of the main reasons responsible for the increase of the threshold current. 展开更多

低轨(LEO)卫星多波束通信场景下,传统固定资源分配算法无法满足不同用户对信道容量的差异需求。以适应用户需求分配为主要目标,建立联合信道分配、带宽分配和功率分配的最小供需差优化模型,并引入图样分割多址接入技术(PDMA)提升信道资... 低轨(LEO)卫星多波束通信场景下,传统固定资源分配算法无法满足不同用户对信道容量的差异需求。以适应用户需求分配为主要目标,建立联合信道分配、带宽分配和功率分配的最小供需差优化模型,并引入图样分割多址接入技术(PDMA)提升信道资源的利用率。针对该模型的非凸特性,通过Q-learning算法学习资源分配最优策略为每个用户分配适合的信道容量,并引入奖励阈值进一步改进算法,加快算法的收敛,且使算法达到收敛时供需差异更小。仿真结果表明,改进后的算法收敛速度约是改进前的3.33倍:改进算法能满足更大的用户需求,比改进前Qlearning算法提升14%,是传统固定算法的2.14倍。 展开更多

为解决传统标准梁柱节点施工复杂、节点强度低等一系列问题,提出一种嵌入式H型钢梁柱节点结构形式,并设计4个梁柱节点试件(1个标准现浇梁柱节点试件,3个嵌入式H型钢梁柱节点试件)进行试验研究,设置型钢翼缘宽度、剪跨比为主要参数,对4... 为解决传统标准梁柱节点施工复杂、节点强度低等一系列问题,提出一种嵌入式H型钢梁柱节点结构形式,并设计4个梁柱节点试件(1个标准现浇梁柱节点试件,3个嵌入式H型钢梁柱节点试件)进行试验研究,设置型钢翼缘宽度、剪跨比为主要参数,对4个试件的破坏形态、承载力、变形能力进行对比分析。结果表明:嵌入式H型钢梁柱节点试件的节点核心区柱端混凝土裂缝较少,裂缝分布和破坏位置基本上发生于梁端,充分满足了“强柱弱梁”的设计要求;相较于标准现浇梁柱节点试件,嵌入式H型钢梁柱节点试件峰值承载力、极限承载力、变形能力均显著提高,当型钢翼缘加宽时,试件峰值承载力和极限承载力提升较为有限,当剪跨比大于2.7时,承载力将会明显降低。 展开更多

本文提出了一种边射波束和锥状波束可重构的新型微带贴片天线,该天线在锥状波束模式下具有圆度较好、锥角可设计的优点。首先,在贴片的中间引入一排短路孔,当短路孔两侧的探针反相馈电时,贴片上两侧电流同向,辐射边射波束;而当两个探针... 本文提出了一种边射波束和锥状波束可重构的新型微带贴片天线,该天线在锥状波束模式下具有圆度较好、锥角可设计的优点。首先,在贴片的中间引入一排短路孔,当短路孔两侧的探针反相馈电时,贴片上两侧电流同向,辐射边射波束;而当两个探针同相馈电时,贴片上两侧电流反向,辐射锥状波束。接着,对短路排孔与贴片边缘之间的间距进行了优化设计,调整电流分布,从而改善锥状波束在方位面上的圆度。最后,在贴片的对角线上额外引入了四个短路孔,通过控制其位置和大小来调节固定频率下贴片的尺寸,从而设计出不同锥角的锥状波束。通过全波仿真,设计了三个边射波束和锥状波束可切换的贴片,锥状波束的锥角分别为55°、50°和45°,均具有较好的圆度。 展开更多

青少年低角不同矢状骨面型颞下颌关节形态及位置的CBCT分析

目的:研究不同矢状骨面型青少年低角患者颞下颌关节形态及位置差异,探讨颞下颌关节与颅颌面部骨骼类型之间的关系。方法:选择11~16岁骨性Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ类低角患者各20例做为研究组,骨性Ⅰ类均角患者20例作为对照组,拍摄CBCT并导入Invivo 5.... 目的:研究不同矢状骨面型青少年低角患者颞下颌关节形态及位置差异,探讨颞下颌关节与颅颌面部骨骼类型之间的关系。方法:选择11~16岁骨性Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ类低角患者各20例做为研究组,骨性Ⅰ类均角患者20例作为对照组,拍摄CBCT并导入Invivo 5.2软件获取头颅侧位及双侧关节影像,测量并进行统计学分析。结果:(1)Ⅰ类低角组髁突长轴径和冠状面髁突宽度、Ⅱ类低角组关节间隙以及Ⅲ类低角组关节窝深度等与眶耳平面-下颌平面角呈显著负相关。(2)与对照组相比,Ⅰ类低角组关节前间隙(P=0.022)和Ⅱ类低角组关节窝深度(P=0.027)等明显较大,Ⅲ类低角组关节结节斜度(P=0.017)和髁突水平角(P=0.016)明显较小。(3)Ⅰ类低角组髁头角和关节结节斜度等(P<0.05)、Ⅱ类低角组关节内间隙(P≤0.01)以及Ⅲ类低角组髁头角(P<0.01)等均显示右侧小于左侧。结论:不同矢状骨面型青少年低角患者颞下颌关节髁突形态、对称性、关节间隙等存在显著差异,正畸治疗中应予以重视,持续关注其髁突生长状态,以达到正畸后长期稳定的治疗效果。 展开更多

This approach avoids coding/decoding and directly works with complex numbers to simplify computing program and to speed up computation. This approach uses two crossover operators that can over-come premature convergence and the dependence of convergence on initial population. Simulation results show that this method is capable of synthesizing complex pattern shapes of planar arrays with arbitrary ge-ometry and can realize good sidelobe suppression at the same time. 展开更多

侧扫声纳是海洋测绘领域的常用设备,为解决侧扫声纳波束模式带来的声纳图像中央区域质量较差的问题,提出了侧扫声纳图像中央区的自动确定和重建方法。首先根据侧扫声纳测量原理,基于波束模式,自动确定侧扫声纳图像的中央区域;然后根据... 侧扫声纳是海洋测绘领域的常用设备,为解决侧扫声纳波束模式带来的声纳图像中央区域质量较差的问题,提出了侧扫声纳图像中央区的自动确定和重建方法。首先根据侧扫声纳测量原理,基于波束模式,自动确定侧扫声纳图像的中央区域;然后根据图像强度梯度和像素可靠信息,计算图像重建区域的优先级;最后根据优先级顺序,采用基于样例的方法对中央区进行重建,提高侧扫声纳图像质量。研究表明,重建后的侧扫声纳图像无论是在主观视觉还是客观评价指标方面,都取得了满意的结果。采用本文所提方法得到的重建图像,能够清晰地反映海底特征,具有很好的应用价值。 展开更多

For one class of Low-Density Parity-Check(LDPC)codes with low row weight in theirparity check matrix,a new Syndrome Decoding(SD)based on the heuristic Beam Search(BS),labeledas SD-BS,is put forward to improve the error performance.First,two observations are made andverified by simulation results.One is that in the SNR region of interest,the hard-decision on thecorrupted sequence yields only a handful of erroneous bits.The other is that the true error pattern forthe nonzero syndrome has a high probability to survive the competition in the BS,provided sufficientbeam width.Bearing these two points in mind,the decoding of LDPC codes is transformed into seekingan error pattern with the known decoding syndrome.Secondly,the effectiveness of SD-BS dependsclosely on how to evaluate the bit reliability.Enlightened by a bit-flipping definition in the existingliterature,a new metric is employed in the proposed SD-BS.The strength of SD-BS is demonstrated viaapplying it on the corrupted sequences directly and the decoding failures of the Belief Propagation(BP),respectively. 展开更多
