Linear analysis is done by linearizing the bearing oil film dynamic forces and expressing them with stiffness and damping constants. Nonlinear dynamic simulation is done by taking the nonlinearity of bearing oil film dynamic force into full consideration, with the latter being expressed by a special database which is generated beforehand, and based on non stationary Reynolds equation and Reynolds boundary condition of film rupture. The linear and nonlinear unbalance responses of a Jeffcot rotor supported on a pair of elliptical bearings is studied. The resulting dynamic characteristics and rotor and journal whirling orbits are compared. While good consistancy between nonlinear and linear predictions is found under very small unbalance, significant or even drastic differences are found whenever the unbalance is not small, indicating the necessity of including the nonlinearity of oil film dynamic forces, especially when response to large unbalance is to be predicted.展开更多

Two cases of piled rafts in soft clay including case 1 (s = 2d) and case 2 (s = 4d) with s and d were piled spacing and piled diameter respectively were considered in this study. Undrained (without ground water pumping) and drained (with ground water pumping) conditions were applied in each case in order to evaluate variations of ultimate bearing capacity of piled raft and axial force of the piles in piled raft. The results showed that ultimate bearing capacity increased about 25% for undrained condition and about 32% for drained condition when piled spacing increased from 2d to 4d. In the same piled spacing, axial force of the piles increased about 9% for piled spacing of 2d and 7% for piled spacing of 4d when drained condition was applied. When piled spacing increased 2 times (2d to 4d), the axial force of piles increased about 7% for undrained condition and about 5% for drained condition.展开更多

This paper presents nonlinear bearing forces of a roller bearing under four-dimensional loads and establishes 4-DOF dynamics equations of a rotor roller bearing system. The methods of Newmark-β and of Newton-Laphson are used to solve the nonlinear equations. The dynamics behaviors of a rigid rotor system are studied through the bifurcation, the Poincar è maps, the spectrum diagrams and the axis orbit of responses of the system. The results show that the system is liable to undergo instability caused by the quasi-periodic bifurcation, the periodic-doubling bifurcation and chaos routes as the rotational speed increases. Clearances, outer race waviness, inner race waviness, roller waviness, damping, radial forces and unbalanced forces-all these bring a significant influence to bear on the system stability. As the clearance increases, the dynamics behaviors become complicated with the number and the scale of instable regions becoming larger. The vibration frequencies induced by the roller bearing waviness and the orders of the waviness might cause severe vibrations. The system is able to eliminate non-periodic vibration by reasonable choice and optimization of the parameters.展开更多

The intensity of the electrostatic force that acts on a charged asymmetric shaped conductor changes when the direction of the electric field is reversed. The theory of this phenomenon is not clear until today. Therefore this paper will clearly explain the theory of this phenomenon with Gauss’s law. Total ΣES on a closed Gaussian surface around a disk-cylinder shaped charged conductor is the same before and after when the direction of the electric field is reversed. However the distribution of ΣES changes. Many part of total ΣES gather on the front surface of the disk when the electric field is generated. But they transfer to the peripheral side of the cylinder when the direction of the electric field is reversed. This result means that many charges transferred from the surface to the peripheral side. As a result the intensity of the field direction electrostatic force becomes weak.展开更多

Gu’s Function shows that the trace metal ion concentration in water vapor has positive correlation to"specific electron affinity constant"last ionization potential Iz/ion valence Z and negative correlation to ion volume V and coordination number N(Gu, 1994). Gu’s Func-tion C=f[(Iz/Z)/VN]of the bond parameter in water vapor chemistry corresponds to the potential energy function Z’ e2/r in the Schrodinger Equation of quantum chemistry. In different ions with the same 2+ charge, the ion concentration of water-water vapor transfer may be much different. This shows that the 2+ charge of different ions has different attractive force (hydration force). This different attractive force of the charge can be scaled with the relative energy or charge size from Gu’s Function.展开更多

The simulations are conducted for the pertinent parameters in the following ranges: the Reynolds number Re=50-300, the gap ratio G/d = 2, and the splitter's inclination angle 8 = 0°-90°. The results show that with the increase in the angle of the splitter, the drag coefficient initially decreases and then increases. This paper focuses on the effects of negative friction force due to the melt of permafrost, and presents four calculated methods for bearing capacity of a pile. An engineering station was taken as an example, where the lengths of a pile were compared based on four methods. Finally, quick field load tests were carried out, and some meaningful conclusions are presented. Thus, these analytical results can be used to design a pile for permafrost regions.

文摘AFM (atomic force microscopy) technology was applied on C-S-H (calcium silicate hydrate phase) microstructure investigation. The topographies of hydrated C3S (Tricalcium silicate) samples were firstly acquired with AFM. Accordingly, C-S-H can be identified according its pattern. Then the hydrated pssortland cement samples at different curing time were scanned with AFM. The topographies and force displacement curve were acquired and its characters at different days were summarized and analyzed. These results are very meaningful for C-S-H microstructure further investigation and cement-base material macro scale properties improvement.
文摘A computational approach is presented to handle an enlarged linear rotordynamic model whichsimultaneously includes both radial and misalignment motions. The interactive force and momentbetween the rotating and non-rotating members are modeled using an adaptation of the classicalReynolds lubrication equation for incompressible laminar isoviscous films.First, the governingequation is derived and the method of solution is introduced based on a 2-dimension,9-point cen-tral difference.Second, force and moment components are computed by numerical integration ofthe film pressure distribution. Finally, the rotordynamic coefficients are yielded according to thegeneralized force gradients.
文摘Water Vapor Chemistry" as a new science was discovered and established from trace analysis in Gu’s laboratory(Gu, 1991; Gu et al., 1991). This different attractive force of the charge can be scaled with the relative energy or charge size from Gu’s Function.
文摘A numerical investigation is carried out to study the effect of splitter's inclination angle behind an inclined square cylinder on the forced convection heat transfer in a plan channel using the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM). Moreover, the time-averaged Nusselt number at a certain angle increases noticeably.
