A reduction in the track width of magnetic recording systems results in a welcome increase in Areal Density(AD),but can severely deteriorate system performance in the unfortunate appearance of extreme Inter-Track Inte...A reduction in the track width of magnetic recording systems results in a welcome increase in Areal Density(AD),but can severely deteriorate system performance in the unfortunate appearance of extreme Inter-Track Interference(ITI).The effect of severe ITI may be mitigated by using coding schemes.In this paper,therefore,we present a rate-5/62-Dimensional(2D)modulation code based on a proposed Single-Reader/Two-track Reading(SRTR)technique to cope with this serious problem in staggered Bit-Pattemed Magnetic Recording(BPMR)systems.We then evaluate the Bit-Error Rate(BER)performance of the proposed system in the presence of media noises,e.g.,position and size fluctuations.Our simulation results indicate that,at the same User Density(UD),the proposed system performs better than an uncoded system by about 1.0 dB at the BER of 105 and is also superior to the conventional recording system.展开更多

This read channel employs timing recovery system and partial response maximum likelihood detector. Compared to the previous read channel composed of level detection and run-length detection, the present read channel shows superiority in capacity increase and robust performance. Especially, relying on the partial response maximum likelihood detection, lower bit error rate can be obtained.展开更多
Pulse repetition interval(PRI)modulation recognition and pulse sequence search are significant for effective electronic support measures.In modern electromagnetic environments,different types of inter-pulse slide rada...Pulse repetition interval(PRI)modulation recognition and pulse sequence search are significant for effective electronic support measures.In modern electromagnetic environments,different types of inter-pulse slide radars are highly confusing.There are few available training samples in practical situations,which leads to a low recognition accuracy and poor search effect of the pulse sequence.In this paper,an approach based on bi-directional long short-term memory(BiLSTM)networks and the temporal correlation algorithm for PRI modulation recognition and sequence search under the small sample prerequisite is proposed.The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can recognize unilinear,bilinear,sawtooth,and sinusoidal PRI modulation types with 91.43% accuracy and complete the pulse sequence search with 30% missing pulses and 50% spurious pulses under the small sample prerequisite.展开更多

Multilevel (ML) read-only technology has been a trend to improve the data capacity and ...The advantages of read-only storage is the predominance of optical recording relative to magnetic and other rewritable methods. Multilevel (ML) read-only technology has been a trend to improve the data capacity and transfer rate. Based on the principle and coding method of ML, this paper demonstrates some ML read-only recording methods, of which a new ML read-only recording is developed. This recording method integrates amplitude modulation achieved by the reaction mechanism of physics and chemistry of photoresist with the run-length-limited technology. The discs can be achieved using standard photoresist mastering and replication techniques with great compatibility to conventional binary read-only discs.展开更多

This model has four principal hypotheses: the dominant activa-tion region hypothesis, the emotional modulation hypothesis, the attentional level hypothesis, and the interaction hypothesis. Four lines of research were reviewed to provide evidence for these hypotheses: (1) neuro-cognitive studies on the mechanisms of word reading (i.e., neural networks for reading); (2) studies on the influence of words’ emotional valence on word reading; (3) studies of the effect of attention on word reading; and (4) studies on emotional modulation of word reading under different attentional levels.展开更多
