Traditional Chinese Medicine in colorectal cancer treatment:a bibliometrics study and visualization analysis via CiteSpace

Objective:To evaluate the current state of research and areas of interest for traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in the field of colorectal cancer treatment.Methods:Related papers published between January 1,2012,and November 27,2021,were found using the Web of Science Core Collection Science Citation Index Expanded.Using CiteSpace's network map generation capability,we then determined the top writers,organizations,countries,keywords,co-cited writers,journals,references,and research trends.Results:This investigation yielded a total of 336 relevant papers.China is the most productive country.Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the leading institution.The journal with the most popularity and publishing volume is Evidence-based Complementary and Alternative Medicine.The author with the most citations and centrality is Lin JM.The terms"epithelial-mesenchymal transition,""cell cycle arrest,""apoptosis,"and"autophagy"are highly frequent and have a high betweenness centrality.Conclusion:According to the results,research on natural products,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)extracts,and the molecular mechanisms of TCM chemical constituents constitutes the primary focus within TCM cancer treatment investigations.In recent years,there has been a surge of interest in exploring the role of gut microbiota in TCM chemical constituents research,particularly in its ability to induce apoptosis and autophagy in tumor cells,thereby suppressing tumor cell proliferation,metastasis,and invasion.However,due to the intricate composition of TCM and existing technical limitations,the underlying principles guiding TCM's efficacy in treating colorectal cancer remain unclear and warrant further investigation.

A Quality Evaluation System for Dissertation Based on Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process

A dissertation is a research report or scientific paper written by an author to obtain a certain degree. It reflects postgraduates’ research achievements and the educational quality of an institute, even a country. To construct an optimized quality evaluation system for postgraduate dissertation (QESPD), we summarized the influencing factors and invited 10 experienced specialists to rate and prioritize them based on fuzzy analytic hierarchy process. Four primary indicators (innovation, integrity, scientificity and normativity) and 16 sub-indicators were selected to form the evaluation system. The order of primary indicators by weight, was innovation (0.4269), scientificity (0.2807), integrity (0.1728) and normativity (0.1196). The top five sub-dimensions were theoretical originality, scientific value, data reliability, design rationality and evidence credibility. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed system, a case study was performed. In the case study, it was demonstrated that the established two-index-hierarchy QESPD in this study was a more scientific and reasonable evaluation system worthy of promotion and application.

An empirical study on evaluation indexes of scientific research achievements in nursing

Objective: The purpose of this empirical study was to investigate the evaluation indexes of nursing research results and to provide references for the optimization of nursing research results and their clinical applications.Methods: A total of 150 clinical nursing studies were randomly selected, the clinical applications of their results were investigated,and the results were evaluated using the evaluation indexes of nursing research achievements.Results: The results of 101 clinical nursing studies were promoted through their application, accounting for 82.79%, but they were mostly promoted and applied in small areas. When the evaluation indexes of nursing research results were used to evaluate the results, the scores for the applied results were higher than those of unapplied results, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05). Considering the levels of the results, the scores of the results of studies at the national level were higher than those of studies at the municipal and hospital levels; the scores of the results of studies at the provincial level were higher than those at the hospital level; and the scores of the results of originally innovative studies were higher than those of partially innovative studies. The differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05). In terms of overall scores, the scores of the results at the provincial level were higher than those at the hospital level, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Conclusions: The evaluation indexes of nursing research results in this study can scientifically and effectively evaluate the level,value, and effectiveness of the nursing research results and can promote the clinical application of the optimized results.

Automated writing evaluation(1995-2022):Research trends and implications

Automated writing evaluation is the use of computer programs to evaluate essays written in an educational setting.This study aims to evaluate the state of the art and the trends of automated writing evaluation research.A total of 206 automated writing evaluation-related publications published in 88 journals between 1995 and 2022 were used as the data in our study.Bibliometric methods were employed to identify the publication trends,venues for publication,productive authors,highly cited articles,seminal works,and the most frequently explored topics across the past decades.The findings show that automated writing evaluation has become a fast-growing interdisciplinary area of interest.In addition,this line of research has witnessed a growing interest in topics pertaining to the latest technology,the perception of children,the teachers’feedback,and complex tasks.Implications of our study for future research are also discussed.

Equity Study in Health Workforce on Tuberculosis Control in China: a Nationwide Evaluation

We aimed to describe the distribution of tuberculosis （TB） health workers in China and provide evidences of potential inequity for policy development. We used Lorenz curves and Gini index to characterize the distribution of TB health workers by population size, geographical area and number of annual registered TB cases. An additional stratified analysis was done by three economic regions. The Gini index were 0.33 for population size, 0.62 for geographical area and 0.30 for number of registered tuberculosis cases that indicated an acceptable average, significant inequity and a relative average distribution nationwide respectively.

Study on Comprehensive Evaluation Method of China Coal Mine Enterprises

Genetic Parameters and Genome-Wide Association Studies for Body Size Traits of Shuxuan Cattle in China

In domestic cattle,the body size traits have important implications in terms of breed characteristics and production performance.Shuxuan cattle is a dual-purpose breed mainly raised in Sichuan province,China,for which we have known less about the genetic parameters and underlying candidate genes in relation to the body size traits.In this study,we obtained the genome-wide single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)using the Illumina Bovine BeadChip in 275 Shuxuan cattle.These SNPs were first used for estimating genetic parameters for the withers height(WH)and diagonal body length(BL).Using the bivariate animal model,the estimates(±standard error)of heritabilities were 0.71±0.22 and 0.49±0.29 for BL,and their genetic correlation was 0.64±0.37.Second,the genome-wide association study(GWAS)was performed.However,these did not result into genome-wide significant SNPs for both WH and BL traits.According to a less stringent suggestive significance,some positional candidate genes were found,and some of them(such as FAM110B,TAS1R2,PAX3,and FHIT)were previously reported in literature to be associated with body size traits in cattle.In conclusion,we estimated the genetic parameters in Shuxuan cattle using genomic information for the first time,which are required for implementing the genomic selection programs in the future.

Implementation and Evaluation of a Postpartum Care Program for Mothers Raising Infants: A Pilot Study

Background: The aims of this pilot study were to implement and evaluate a postpartum care program for mothers raising children younger than one year to provide physical relaxation, and to reduce mothers’ parenting problems. Methods: A day-service and group-type postpartum care program was implemented with the aim of interacting with peers, promoting local communication, and relaxing mothers. Results: Forty-five pairs of mothers and infants participated in the study. Most of the mothers experienced relaxation, communicated with each other, resolved physical problems, reduced childcare concerns, and developed parenting friends. Conclusions: In addition, feasibility was assured as they were very satisfied with the content of programs such as baby massage and aroma treatment.

Bibliometric Analysis of Soil Fertility Evaluation Papers Based on Core Journals in CNKI

[Objectives]This study was conducted to deeply analyze the research status in the field of soil fertility evaluation.[Methods]With the core journals of Peking University included in CNKI database from 2002 to 2021 as the research object,papers were searched in the advanced search mode using SU=‘soil fertility’and SU=‘evaluation’as the retrieval subject terms and analyzed by the bibliometric research method,from three perspectives,namely,the annual number of papers published,the number of papers issued by authors and the number of highly cited papers.[Results]A total of 891 first authors issued 990 papers related to soil fertility evaluation in total from 2002 to 2021,with an average annual number of papers published at about 50,and the number of published papers showed a trend of rapidly increasing first and then gradually stabilizing.The top 13 authors published 3-4 papers,including Yang Xiaojuan,Chen Haisheng and Li Xinju(4 papers)ranking first.The top 10 papers with the highest citation frequency were published in 9 journals,respectively covering ecology,forestry,agriculture,geography,engineering and other fields,which shows that there are many kinds of journals focusing on the research field of soil fertility evaluation.[Conclusions]The results can provide reference for further research on soil fertility evaluation.

Standardized Semi-Quantitative Evaluation of [123I]FP-CIT SPECT in a Multicenter Study

To the best of our knowledge no multicenter studies have been published using standardized semi-quantitative evaluation of [123I]FP-CIT scan (DAT-SPECT). The aims of this study were: 1) to cross-compare semi-quantitative software-assisted evaluations of DAT-SPECTs performed in three centers with different equipments;2) to assess the accuracy of semi-quantitative evaluations of DAT-SPECT and 3) to identify the threshold with the best accuracy, sensitivity and specificity in a patient population with suspected parkinsonian syndrome. Materials and Methods: Two hundred twenty patients (mean age at the time of SPECT acquisition, 67.4 ± 9.5 yy) acquired in three centers (Ospedale San Luigi Gonzaga;Ospedale San Giovanni Battista Molinette;Ospedale Mauriziano Umberto I) were included. All of them underwent DAT-SPECT from January 2006 to July 2010. All exams were analyzed with the freely available software BASGAN and semi-quantitative data were used to predict disease. In particular, analyses were based on the values from the most deteriorated putamen and caudate, normalized for age and corrected for equipment. ROC analysis was performed and area under the curve (AUC) was estimated. Results: Analysis showed high AUCs (0.898, 0.864, 0.900 and 0.891 for each center and for the multicenter setting, respectively) confirming the very good accuracies reached. The best cut-off were 0.72 and 0.82 for putamen and caudate respectively. These thresholds allowed sensitivities and specificities in each center and in the multicenter setting of 76% and 96%, 91% and 82%, 93% and 90%, 86% and 89% respectively. No significant differences were observed between sensibility and specificity in each center. Conclusion: A unique threshold useful for all centers with high and similar sensitivities and specificities is possible after correction for age and equipments. The high accuracy reached in this multicenter trial by the semi-quantitative analysis seems similar to accuracies from qualitative analysis in other multicenter studies.

Preoperative evaluation of human crystalline lens hardness using A-scan ultrasound biometry： a pilot study

Dear Editor,I write to present the results of a study on the correlation between the ultrasound energy consumed during phacoemulsification with various preoperative parameters,including best corrected distance visual acuity（BCDVA）,the signal to noise ratio（SNR）obtained by partial coherence laser interferometry and primarily,lens spikes measurements derived by A-scan ultrasound biometry.Quantification of crystalline lens hardness before cataract removal has been attempted by several researchers in the past.These have been in humans and in animals,in vivo and in vitro,and have used a variety of imaging modalities.

A survey and evaluation of population-based screening for gastric cancer

Screening and early diagnosis of gastric cancer play important roles in reducing the mortality of gastric cancer. A vast amount of study data on gastric cancer screening and early diagnosis has been accumulated in and out of China in the past decades. The practice of gastric cancer screening has also been efficiently carried out in different countries and regions. However, no widely accepted principle of population screening for gastric cancer has been developed yet. Screening for gastric cancer requires extensive exploration both theoretically and practically. This article focuses on the method and program of gastric cancer screening based on population. Moreover, the current situation of gastric cancer screening and its evaluation are evaluated.

Patent Citations Analysis and Its Value in Research Evaluation： A Review and a New Approach to Map Technology-relevant Research

Purpose： First, to review the state-of-the-art in patent citation analysis, particularly characteristics of patent citations to scientific literature （scientific non-patent references, SNPRs）. Second, to present a novel mapping approach to identify technology-relevant research based on the papers cited by and referring to the SNPRs. Design/methodology/approach： In the review part we discuss the context of SNPRs such as the time lags between scientific achievements and inventions. Also patent-to-patent citation is addressed particularly because this type of patent citation analysis is a major element in the assessment of the economic value of patents. We also review the research on the role of universities and researchers in technological development, with important issues such as universities as sources of technological knowledge and inventor-author relations. We conclude the review part of this paper with an overview of recent research on mapping and network analysis of the science and technology interface and of technological progress in interaction with science. In the second part we apply new techniques for the direct visualization of the cited and citing relations of SNPRs, the mapping of the landscape around SNPRs by bibliographic coupling and co-citation analysis, and the mapping of the conceptual environment of SNPRs by keyword co-occurrence analysis. Findings： We discuss several properties of SNPRs. Only a small minority of publications covered by the Web of Science or Scopus are cited by patents, about 3%-4%. However, for publications based on university-industry collaboration the number of SNPRs is considerably higher, around 15%. The proposed mapping methodology based on a ＂second order SNPR approach＂ enables a better assessment of the technological relevance of research. Research limitations： The main limitation is that a more advanced merging of patent and publication data, in particular unification of author and inventor names, in still a necessity. Practical implications： The proposed mapping methodology enables the creation of a database of technology-relevant papers （TRPs）. In a bibliometric assessment the publications of research groups, research programs or institutes can be matched with the TRPs and thus the extent to which the work of groups, programs or institutes are relevant for technological development can be measured. Originality/value： The review part examines a wide range of findings in the research of patent citation analysis. The mapping approach to identify a broad range of technologyrelevant papers is novel and offers new opportunities in research evaluation practices.

Leading the High Quality Development of Legal Studies with Scientific Academic Evaluation

Academic evaluation is the baton and wind vane for academic development, and the establishment of a scientific and authoritative evaluation system is crucial to establishing a robust academic research ecology. To purify the academic atmosphere, cultivate the academic ecology, and promote academic innovation, the General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council jointly issued the Opinions on Strengthening Legal Education and Legal Theoretical Research in the New Era. It put forward precise requirements and made specific deployments to improve the scientific research assessment and evaluation system, which pointed out the direction for reforming the academic evaluation system in legal studies. It is necessary to grasp the historical trend, take the initiative to seek changes, shoulder our responsibility, address pain points and difficulties in the academic research evaluation system in an innovative way, and build an academic evaluation system and academic evaluation institutions in line with the characteristics of the discipline of law and the needs of the times, thereby promoting the prosperous development of legal studies.

Outlining the keyword co-occurrence trends in Shuanghuanglian injection research: A bibliometric study using CiteSpace Ⅲ

Objective:To explore the evolvement and new trends in the use of Shuanghuanglian injection(SHLI).Methods:China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),PubMed,and Embase were extensively searched using the search terms“Shuanghuanglian injection”and“Shuanghuanglian fenzhen”to retrieve articles relevant to SHLI(1992e2020).Retrieved articles were further investigated by two authors to exclude those unrelated to SHLI.The bibliographical references of the included articles were exported as raw data and then treated using the CiteSpace tool to visualize the mapping of the SHLI research domain.Essential clusters and highly frequent keywords were quantified for further analysis.The clusters were automatically labeled by the algorithm of tf*idf for objective analysis.Basic bibliometric features,including article types and yearly trend in article numbers were also determined and discussed.Results:The modules of the keywords of interest presented clear boundaries with a high modularity score(Q=0.73).High-confidence clusters were identified,including bioactivity fingerprint(S=0.99),equal pupils(S=0.91),drug preparation department(S=0.87),difficulty in respiration(S=0.85),peristalsis(0.88),and Danshen powder injection(S=0.94).The characteristic keywords in terms of frequency and burstiness were Shuanghuanglian powder for injection(F=235,B=5.22),SHLI(F=112,B=11.39),and adverse drug reactions(ADRs;F=104,B=7.35).Conclusion:In the field of SHLI study,there are five major topic categories:bioactivity fingerprint;ADR mechanism and cause detection;proper preparation;clinical evidence accumulation;and efficacy in diseases with no effective treatment and combination usage.The trend for using modern methodologies from a science-based perspective to study SHLI will continue to exist.The causes of multi-factorial ADRs may be an important topic for future studies.

Eye-acupuncture as adjuvant therapy for stroke:A bibliometric analysis of clinical studies

Background:Eye-acupuncture(EA)is a fine-needle acupuncture therapy for systemic diseases.This bibliometric analysis aims to provide a comprehensive review of the characteristics of EA for ischemic or hemorrhagic apoplexy based on clinical studies.Methods:A total of 195 clinical studies from six databases such as CNKI,VIP,Wanfang Data,SinoMed,PubMed and the Cochrane Library from inception to December 31,2017 were included.Bibliometric information mainly including study type,participant characteristics,intervention and comparison details,and outcomes were extracted.Data was analyzed descriptively using SPSS
software to determine their distribution(range,interquartile range)and central tendency(median).Results:The studies covered 108 RCTs,36 controlled clinical trials,45 case series and 6 case reports on EA for treatment of ischemic or hemorrhagic apoplexy,involved 15466 stroke patients.EA was used at different stages of ischemic or hemorrhagic apoplexy:acute stage(n Z 38),recovery(n Z 32),sequela(n Z 13)and unclear(n Z 112).The most frequently used EA acupoints were in the upper-jiao and lower-jiao regions.The commonly used comparisons were EA alone versus traditional acupuncture,or EA plus traditional acupuncture versus traditional acupuncture.Neurological deficit scale,Modified Barthel Index,and activities of daily living were the most frequently used outcome measures.Conclusion:EA as an adjuvant therapy is effective and safe in treating stroke at acute and recovery stages,but high-quality RCTs are lacking.

Bibliometric study of diabetic retinopathy during 2000-2010 by ISI

AIM: To analyze the progress in diabetic retinopathy (DR) researches between 2000 and 2010 through bibliometric study. METHODS: Using ISI Web of Science database for statistical sources, we retrieved DR literatures during 2000-2010, analyzed 'the number of published articles per year, authors, source publications, subject category, document type, document language, institution and country/region' by bibliometric statistical methods. RESULTS: The total number of published articles that were retrieved for the years during 2000-2010 was 8590. DR researches changed as a linear upward trend, the main researches focused on ophthalmology, endocrine and metabolic diseases. Article was the main document type. Harvard University was the major research institution. CONCLUSION: There has achieved a significant increase in the number of ISI publications and collaborations in DR literatures from 2000 to 2010. With the rising of the number of diabetes in the world, diabetic retinopathy has become a focus of scientific researches.
