The research consists of two aspects: a) algorithms for blood vessels extraction in sclera-conjunctiva images, which can be applied in syndrome differentiation by observing human eyes (named Ocular Diagnostic in Traditional Chinese Medicine);b) digitization of extracted vessels. First, sclera-conjunctiva region is isolated by optimal threshold segmentation and mathematical operation;Scanning and edge detection methods are used to gain the edge of the blood vessels. Moreover, the edge feature parameters are gained, which can be used to reconstruct the blood vessels. Experimental results show that blood vessels information can be obtained fast and accurately for the further TCM diagnosis by artificial system.展开更多

The best simulative soil was prepared for substituting the deep-sea sediment based on the deep-sea sediment collected from the Paci?c C-C mining area. Traction rheological properties of the simulative soil were studied by a home-made test apparatus. In order to accurately describe the traction rheological properties and determine traction rheological parameters, the Newtonian dashpot in Maxwell body of Burgers model was replaced by a self-similarity spring-dashpot fractance and a new rheological constitutive model was deduced by fractional derivative theory. The results show the simulative soil has obvious non-attenuate rheological properties. The transient creep and stable creep rate increase with the traction, but they decrease with ground pressure. The fractional derivative Burgers model are better in describing non-attenuate rheological properties of the simulative soil than the classical Burgers model. For the new traction rheological constitutive equation of the simulative soil, the traction rheological parameters can be obtained by ?tting the tested traction creep data with the traction creep constitutive equation. The ground contact length of track and walking velocity of the mining machine predicted by the traction rheological constitutive equation can be used to take full advantages of the maximum traction provided by the soil and safely improve mining effciency.展开更多

Three experimental diets containing fresh corn oil or frying oil (FO) with or without vitamin E were fed to Wistar rats over a 90-day. Blood Chemistry, blood parameters (hematocrit and erythrocyte osmotic fragility) and growth performance were determined. Neither FO alone nor vitamin E had any considerable impact on the growth performance. Hematocrit of FO group did not change significantly compared to animals fed fresh oil. Although, vitamin E increased hematocrit to 16.37%, but still it had no considerable effect on restoring hematocrit to normal values. Serum triacylglycerol (TAG) did not change significantly among FO animals, while significant increase in TAG was noted between FO and vitamin E treated animals compared with other treatments. Serum total cholesterol (TC) did not change significantly among experimental animals compared with the control. Vitamin E resulted in an insignificant increase in high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C) level compared to the control. Serum low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C) level did not display any considerable difference among the three treatments. Frying oil with or without vitamin E had no significant effects on growth performance, lipid chemistry, and blood parameters. The only significant effect of FO was shown on erythrocytes hemolysis at higher concentration. Vitamin E supplementation had no impacts on undesired effects caused by frying oil.展开更多

The influence of stirring technological parameters such as stirring temperature and shear rate to apparent viscosity of semi-solid alloy slurry was discussed. Apparent viscosity increases with stirring temperature decreases at the same shear rate. At the same stirring temperature, apparent viscosity decreases rapidly at first with shear rate increases, and then apparent viscosity decreases slowly with shear rate increases, when shear rate reaches a certain value, apparent viscosity appears tiny increase. According to the experimental data, the relation between solid volume fraction and apparent viscosity of semi-solid AZ9l D alloy at shear rate 238 s- 1 is fitted by regression method, it supplies useful data to the numerical simulation of semi-solid AZ91D alloy die casting process.展开更多

The model, in which the variation of the rheological parameters during the seepage flow has been also taken into consideration, has been solved using finite-difference method. The type curves have been plotted. The influence of some properties of polymer solution including the viscocity, the elastic properties and the rheological parameters has been analyzed. Compared with the curves of the power-law fluid, it is shown that the pressure derivative curve considering the elasticity of the polymer solution upwarps less at the radial flow regime. Besides, it will come down as the variation of the rheological parameters, which is quite different from the case regarding them as constants. Therefore, in well test analysis on pressure of polymer solution, it’s necessary to consider the elasticity and the variation of the rheological parameters.展开更多

An experimental model of atherosclerosis was established in cholesterol-fed rabbits. In the 2nd, 4th, 8th and 12th week, the parametersmentioned above were determined and the pathological changes of the aorta examined. It was found that serum triglyceride (TG)was increased in the 4th week and total serum cholesterol (TCh) was significantly higher in the 4th, 8th and 12th week than thatin the control. Erythrocytic Na+ -K+ -ATPase activity decreased progressively and it was negatively correlated to TCh in the 4thand 12th week (r = - 0.67 and - 0.51, P < 0.01 and 0.05). G’ was significantly increased in the 4th week only when theshear rate was 0. 190 Hz whereas G and η’ increased progressively from the 8th to 12th week. It is believed that the determinationof blood lipids, Na+ -K+ -ATPase activity and viscoelastic parameters of the whole blood is useful for the prediction of the propession of the pathological changes in different stages of AS.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND Increasing numbers of laboratory blood parameters(BPM)have been reported to greatly affect the long-term outcomes of gastric cancer(GC)patients. However, the existing prognostic models do not comprehensively analyze these predictors.AIM To construct a new prognostic tool, based on all the prognostic BPM,to achieve more accurate prognosis prediction for GC.METHODS We retrospectively assessed 850 consecutive patients who underwent curative resection for stage II-III GC from January 2010 to April 2013.The patients were classified into developing(n=567)and validation(n=283)cohorts using computer-generated random numbers.A scoring system, namely BPM score, was then constructed using least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)Cox regression model in the developing cohort, and validated in the validation cohort.A nomogram consisting of BPM score and tumor-lymph node-metastasis(TNM)stage was further created. The discrimination and calibration of the nomogram were evaluated via Harrell’s C-statistic and the Hosmer-Lemeshow test.RESULTS Using the LASSO model,we established the BPM score based on five BPM:Albumin,lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio,neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, carcinoembryonic antigen, and carbohydrate antigen 19-9.The BPM scores were divided into high-and low-BPM groups based on a cut-off value of-0.93.High-BPM patients were significantly older and had more advanced, larger tumors. In the developing cohort, significant differences were found in 5-year overall survival(OS)and 5-year disease-specific survival between the high-BPM and low-BPM patients.Similar results were found in the validation group.Multivariable analysis showed that the BPM score was an independent predictor of OS.High-BPM patients had a poorer 5-year OS for each subgroup.Furthermore,a nomogram that combined the BPM score and TNM stage had significantly better prognostic value compared with TNM stage alone.CONCLUSION The BPM score provides more accurate prognosis prediction in stage Ⅱ-Ⅲ GC patients and is an effective complement to the TNM staging system.
文摘This paper presents a study on digitization of Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis. Experimental results show that blood vessels information can be obtained fast and accurately for the further TCM diagnosis by artificial system.

文摘The traction capacity of the mining machine is greatly in?uenced by the traction rheological properties of the deep-sea sediments. The ground contact length of track and walking velocity of the mining machine predicted by the traction rheological constitutive equation can be used to take full advantages of the maximum traction provided by the soil and safely improve mining effciency.
文摘Relations between 67 dietary parameters and blood pressure in 8 Chinese communities (745 men aged 40~59 years) were studied. Results showed. UNa, Na/K, Ca, Ca/Mg, parameters reflecting the protein-intake, serum levels of Sr, valine, cysteine, threonine, Vit A, Vit E, cholesterol, C16:0, C18:0, (saturated fatty acid)/(polyunsaturated fatty acid),(C20:5+C22:6 (ω3))/(C18:2+C20:3+C20:4 (ω6)), γ-glutamyl transferase (an index of alcohol consumption) and plasma glucose correlated positively with BP, while serum levels of K, Mg, glycine, phenylalanine, leucine, VitC, C18:2, Ni, V, Co, Cr and Cd, inversely. And also, a metabolic imbalance among BP, blood glucose and lipids was exhibited.
文摘This study aimed at investigating effects of frying oils supplemented with vitamin E on blood parameters and growth performance of rats. Vitamin E supplementation had no impacts on undesired effects caused by frying oil.

文摘Semi-solid AZ91D magnesium alloy was investigated in isothermal steady-state condition. According to the experimental data, the relation between solid volume fraction and apparent viscosity of semi-solid AZ9l D alloy at shear rate 238 s- 1 is fitted by regression method, it supplies useful data to the numerical simulation of semi-solid AZ91D alloy die casting process.
文摘According to the behavior that the polymer solution has both the characteristics of viscosity and elastic properties, the transient flow mathe- matical model considered the viscoelasticity of the polymer solution has been established. Therefore, in well test analysis on pressure of polymer solution, it’s necessary to consider the elasticity and the variation of the rheological parameters.
文摘In this work the changes of blood lipids, erythrocytic Na+ -K+ -ATPase activity, and dynamic viscosity(η’) and dynamic modulus(G’) of whole blood were determined in different satges of experimental atherosclerosis (AS) in the rabbit. It is believed that the determinationof blood lipids, Na+ -K+ -ATPase activity and viscoelastic parameters of the whole blood is useful for the prediction of the propession of the pathological changes in different stages of AS.
文摘The high rate of cardiovascular disease is due to excessive intake of animal protein. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the replacement of the soybean as a cost effective protein on the blood parameters. 110 immature female Balb/c mice three weeks of age were randomized, into eleven groups of 10 animals each based on following diets: 1) low protein, 2) full protein without soybean, 3) full protein with 20% soybean, and 4) full protein with 40% soybean,. The animals received their diet orally on a daily basis for three and six months. At the end of the study period, the blood samples were collected and blood parameters were measured. The data were analyzed with SPSS software using one-way ANOVA and Tukey’s test. Results: In the groups that received 20% and 40% soybean diet, the cholesterol, LDH, glucose, creatinine and urea levels showed meaningful decrease, and total protein level showed a significant increase in comparison with the other groups (P However, the mean values of ALT, AST, ALP, triglyceride, calcium and phosphorus did not show significant change among experimental groups (P 0.01). Results of the present study indicated that soybean as a cost effective protein could be suitable replacement for animal protein and soybean may have beneficial effects on health like reduction of cholesterol, LDH and urea.
