This paper investigates the breaking point between fast- and slow-light in a degenerate two-level atomic system, where fast-light can be converted to slow-light arbitrarily on a single transition line by adjusting the strength of the pumping field. An equivalent incoherent pumping rate is introduced in this simplified theoretical model which exploits the dependence of this feature. The experimental observation is presented as evidence of the breaking point where the injected power is about 0.08 mW. 展开更多

Currently, in the highly developed industrial world, safety and protection of human lives and their property against the negative impacts of the industry should be a priority task of each its sector, not excluding mining. The impact of mining activity on the environment is very negative industrial influence. As a result of underground mining activities in the surface creates mining subsidence. Conditioning factors to establish the extent of the movement of the surface above the mined out area are a geodetic way surveyed deformation vectors which can be derived from the processing of measurements at monitoring stations. The theory for the estimation of polynomial break points in the case of the subsidence analysis is presented. The theory was developed as a part of the kinematics analysis procedures for the evaluation of the magnesite deposit in the suburb of Kosice-Bankov on the northern outskirts of the city of Kogice (eastern SIovakia). The subsurface abandoned mine Kosice-Bankov is located in the immediate vicinity of the recreational and tourist zone in the northern suburb of the city of Kosice. The numerical and graphical results from the break points estimation in the magnesite deposit Kosice-Bankov are presented. The obtained results from the abandoned mining area Kosice-Bankov were transferred into GIS for the needs of the municipality of the city of Kosice in order to conduct the reclamation of this mining devastated landscape. 展开更多

From the research on the breakdown weak points in high voltage vacuum gaps, their turnout and distribution, some theoretic work were made to set up the models for describing the statistical property of multi-breaks vacuum circuit-breakers' breakdown and post-arc re-strike, which can be used for explaining the mechanism of the improvement in the breaking capacity of multi-breaks units compared with that of single-break ones which have the same equivalent gap length. <strong>Objective:</strong> The purpose of this work was to determine the epidemiological, clinical and evolutionary aspects of the pulmonary embolism of the young person in the cardiology department of th... <strong>Objective:</strong> The purpose of this work was to determine the epidemiological, clinical and evolutionary aspects of the pulmonary embolism of the young person in the cardiology department of the University Hospital Center (CHU) Point G in Bamako-Mali. <strong>Methodology:</strong> This was an analytical study from January 01, 2018 to December 31, 2018 in the CHU Point G cardiology department, including all patients hospitalized during this period. <strong>Results:</strong> Of 1379 hospitalized patients, 19 patients were concerned by pulmonary embolism of the young person. The prevalence of pulmonary embolism of the young person was 1.37%. The most affected age group was 21 - 30 (47.4%) of patients. The predominance was female (89.47%) with a gender ratio of 0.11 in favour of women. The average age in the series was 29.79 years with extremes of 16 years and 40 years. Factors predisposing to pulmonary embolism were dominated by peri partum, cardiomyopathy and obesity with 47.3%, 31.57% and 21.1%, respectively. The dominant signs were chest pain and dyspnea in 94.7% and 89.5% of cases respectively. Pulmonary embolism was unlikely in 60.52% according to the Geneva and Wells score simplified. At the thoracic angioscanner, the embolism was bilateral in 52.6% of cases and distal in 36.8% of patients;in 10 patients who performed cardiac ultrasound, pulmonary arterial hypertension (70%), dilation of the right ventricle (20%) and left ventricular dilation (40%). Hyper leucocytosis (47.4%), anemia and low prothrombin rate (TP) (22.2%) were the most found biological abnormalities. More than 2/3 (68.5%) our patients had an intermediate mortality risk according to the PESI (Pulmonary Embolism Severity Index) score. The average hospital stay was 10 days. Hospital mortality was 10.5%. <strong>Conclusion:</strong> The pulmonary embolism of the young person is a frequent, serious and multifactorial pathology and the female sex is most affected especially during peri partum periods, hence the need for preventive measures. Clinical signs are not specific and based on the assessment of clinical probability. Pulmonary angioscanner remains the confirmation review in our context. 展开更多

Cross-Correlation Detection of Point Sources in the WMAP First Year Data

We apply a Cross-Correlation (CC) method developed previously for detecting gamma-ray point sources to the WMAP first year data by using the Point-Spread Function of WMAP and obtain a full sky CC coefficient map. We find that the CC method is a powerful tool to examine the WMAP foreground residuals which can be further cleaned accord- ingly. Evident foreground signals are found in the WMAP foreground cleaned maps and the Tegmark cleaned map. In this process 101 point sources are detected, and 26 of them are new sources additional to the originally listed WMAP 208 sources. We estimate the flux of these new sources and verify them by another method. As a result, a revised mask file based on the WMAP first year data is produced by including these new sources. 展开更多

我国深部煤层气资源丰富,但深部煤层渗透率极低,高应力−压力环境下深部煤层气解吸困难,导致产量低下。水平井水射流冲孔造穴是一种大范围卸压增透煤层的新技术,但在深部赋存环境下其破岩成孔机制还有待研究。由于深部煤层赋存于高地应... 我国深部煤层气资源丰富,但深部煤层渗透率极低,高应力−压力环境下深部煤层气解吸困难,导致产量低下。水平井水射流冲孔造穴是一种大范围卸压增透煤层的新技术,但在深部赋存环境下其破岩成孔机制还有待研究。由于深部煤层赋存于高地应力、高应力差的地质环境,室内物理模拟实验难以开展。因此,首先基于黏弹塑性理论和物质点法建立了水射流冲孔破岩数值模型,该模型集成拉格朗日和欧拉算法的优势,能有效模拟射流破岩过程中的动量交换、煤岩大变形、破岩、流体剥蚀携岩反排等全过程。然后,通过该数值模型开展了深部煤层水射流破岩成孔机制和影响因素研究,得到结论如下:①深部煤层以高地应力荷载作用造成的剪切破坏为破岩的主导机制,射流主要起到冲蚀和携岩反排的作用,而无应力荷载时以水射流碰撞煤岩产生的应力波造成张拉破坏为破岩的主导机制,由于煤岩塑性较强,水楔效应不明显。②深部煤层高地应力荷载作用加速了破岩过程,冲出煤量比无应力荷载时高,同时应力荷载促使煤体向开孔方向移动,造成空腔体积减小,但塑性损伤区较无应力荷载时明显增大。③冲出煤量、塑性损伤区面积都随射流时间增加而增加,但增幅逐渐变缓。冲出煤量、塑性损伤区面积随入射角度的增加整体呈下降趋势,射流角度越小,水射流冲孔破岩效果越好,射流垂直入射并不是破岩的最佳方式。④冲出煤量、塑性损伤区面积随应力差、煤岩开孔宽度的增加而增加,但应力差的增加对深部煤层射流破岩的促进作用不大。煤层开孔宽度不宜过高,适当增加开孔宽度可以提高射流破岩效率。 展开更多
