These uniformly sized ducts are lined by single layers of epithelium and myoepithelium. They mainly appear in young women, rarely occurring in the elderly?[1]?[3]-[5]. Tubular adenoma must be differentiated from other benign lesions (fibroadenoma) and from malignant breast cancer (tubular carcinoma). Preoperative diagnosis is often difficult, but the histologic diagnosis of tubular adenoma would be an acceptable diagnosis after needle core biopsy. Both radiologic and cytohistologic examinations performed before surgery may be not diagnostic and surgical excision is necessary in order to reach a precise diagnosis and a definitive treatment. We report a case of tubular adenoma of the breast in a 62-year-old woman preoperatively diagnosed as a breast tubular adenoma by Ultrasuond-guided core biopsy.展开更多

A 37-year-old woman presented with unilateral bloody nipple discharge for 1-year duration followed by severe nipple erosion. As biopsy revealed nipple adenoma and therefore, complete local excision was done. The final histopathology showed florid papillomatosis which was adequately excised. Nipple adenoma although rare entity this should be included in the differential diagnosis of any nipple erosion such as carcinoma and Paget’s disease of the breast specially when associated with bloody discharge in premenopausal women.展开更多

Methods: Samples of 46 breast adenoma tissues and 86 breast cancer tissues were regularly dehydrate-fixed, embedded in paraffin, sliced in to 5μm thick, stained with SABC immunohistochemistry and coloured with DAB. Results: The positive staining of EGFR was shown as brown- yellow and distributed in cytoplasm. The positive rates in the tissues of breast adenosis and breast cancer were 17.04% (6/46) and 56.98% (49/86) respectively. The positive rates of EGFR in the tissue of invasive ductal carcinoma was 64.49% (41/59), which was significantly higher than that in in situ carcinoma (P〈0.05). The positive rate of lymph metastasis group was higher than that in non-lymph metastasis group (P〈0.05). Conclusion: The overexpression of EGFR was related with occurrence, lymph metastasis and pathologic types of breast cancer. The examination of EGFR in the breast cancer can serve as a guidance for target chemotherapy.展开更多

It is seen mainly in the third trimester of pregnancy and in the postpartum period. Clinically, it is a solid mass, mobile typically benign but its character of rapid evolution is reminiscent of phyllodes tumors, sarcomas and galactoceles. The definitive diagnosis is histological. We report a case of lactating adenoma in a 26-year-old lactating woman, third procedure, second pare, with a history of tumor resection of the outer quadrants of the left breast, 9 months ago, whose histology evoked a fibrotic disease, cystic breast associating non-specific subacute mastitis with suppuration. Received for recurrence of a tumor in the left breast which was the site of a polylobed mass of about 10/5 cm occupying 3/4 of the breast with mobile ipsilateral axillary adenopathies. A micro tru-cut biopsy was performed and the histology was in favor of a lactating breast adenoma with no signs of malignancy. She underwent surgical excision, the consequences of which were simple.展开更多
