Computer technology solutions, such as the Decision Support System, make the decision-making process less complex and simpler for problem-solving. In order to make a high-quality business decision, managers need to have a great deal of appropriate information. Nonetheless, this complicates the process of making appropriate decisions. In a situation like that, the possibility of using DSS is quite logical. The aim of this paper is to find out the intended use of DSS for medium and large business organizations in USA by applying the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Different models were developed in order to understand and predict the use of information systems, but the information systems community mostly used TAM to ensure this issue. The purpose of the research model is to determine the elements of analysis that contribute to these results. The sample for the research consisted of the target group that was supposed to have completed an online questionnaire about the manager’s use of DSS in medium and large American companies. The information obtained from the questionnaires was analyzed through the SPSS statistical software. The research has indicated that, this is primarily used due to a significant level of Perceived usefulness and For the Perceived ease of use.展开更多

A solution to these challenges is to build a new Business and Operations Support System (BOSS). Considering the numerous varieties of 3G services as well as the QoS requirements, it is suggested that operators should integrate the existing Business Support Systems (BSS) and Operations Support Systems (OSS), perfect the Customer Relationship Management (CRM), make the systems adapt to the life cycle of data, information and services, and make steady progress in standardization work.展开更多

Therefore, the NGN business and operations support focuses on customers, totally different from that of the conventional telecommunications network, which concentrates on network operation and maintenance. An NGN operations and maintenance support system should be customer-focused, market-oriented and profit-targeted. Based on its unified NGN operations and maintenance support system, ZTE has implemented an integrated network management system that covers every functional level of the NGN. Accordingly, technical updates can be implemented flexibly on the network to meet the requirements of technology revolution, and new customer-oriented services can be offered to operators.展开更多

They were integrated to build the Intelligent Decision Support System of the Operation Optimization of Copper Smelting Converter(IDSSOOCSC), which is self learning and self adaptating. Development steps, monoblock structure and basic functions of the IDSSOOCSC were introduced. After it was applied in a copper smelting converter, every production quota was clearly improved after IDSSOOCSC had been run for 4 months. Blister copper productivity is increased by 6%, processing load of cold input is increased by 8% and average converter life span is improved from 213 to 235 furnace times.展开更多

The system operates at the highest hierarchical level supervising a number of different components dealing with three different time scale horizons so as to provide assistance at operational, tactical and strategic level. The Web-based DSS coordinates and integrates the subsystems operating at lower levels and it interfaces with all the involved actors: customers, suppliers, relevant authorities so as to receive all the necessary information to come up with “optimal” suggestions and decisions. In this paper, the overall architecture is presented and the individual modules are described.展开更多

Recent advances in information and communications technology, the smartphone, the Internet and Wi-Fi have given a boost to the tourism industry. The city bus tour (CBT) service is one of the most successful businesses in the tourism industry. However, there exists no smart decision support system determining the most efficient way to plan the itinerary of a CBT. In this research, we report on the ongoing development of a mobile application (app) and a website for tourists, hoteliers and travel agents to connect with city bus operators and book/purchase the best CBT both in terms of cost and time. Firstly, the CBT problem is formulated as an asymmetric sequential three-stage arc routing problem. All places of interest (PoI) and pickup/dropout points are identified with arcs of the network (instead of nodes), each of which can be visited at least once (instead of exactly once). Secondly, the resulting pure integer programming (IP) problem is solved using a leading optimization soft- ware known as General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS). The GAMS code developed for this project returns: (1) the exact optimal solution identifying the footprints of the city bus relative to all the arcs forming the minimal cost network; (2) the augmenting paths corre- sponding to the pickup stage, the PoI visiting stage and the drop-off stage. Finally, we demonstrate the applicability of the mobile app/website via a pilot study in the city of Melbourne (Australia). All the computations relative to the initial tests show that the ability of the app to answer users' inquiries in a fraction of a minute.展开更多

This proposed model directly contributes to both scientific research artificial intelligent area and business practices. From business perspective it empowers the use of artificial intelligent models and techniques to drive decision making processes over financial statements. From scientific and research area the impact is based on the combination of 1) an Information Seeking Dialog Protocol in which a requestor agent inquires the business case, 2) a Facts Valuation based Protocol in which the previously gathered facts are analyzed, 3) the already incorporated initial knowledge of a human expert via initial beliefs, 4) the Intra-Agent Decision Making Protocol based on deductive argumentation and 5) the semi automated Dynamic Knowledge Learning Protocol. Last but not least the suggested way of integration of this proposed model in a higher level multiagent intelligent system in which a Joint Deliberative Dialog Protocol and an Inter-Agent Decision Deductive Argumentation Making Protocol are described.展开更多

To give an improved support to mobile business professionals, it is necessary to go further than just allowing a simple remote access to a Business Intelligence platform. In this paper, the need for actual context-aware mobile Geospatial Business Intelligence (GeoBI) systems that can help capture, filter, organize and structure the user mobile context is exposed and justified. Furthermore, since capturing, structuring, and modeling mobile contextual information is still a research issue, a wide inventory of existing research work on context and mobile context is provided. Then, step by step, we methodologically identify relevant contextual information to capture for mobility purposes as well as for BI needs, organize them into context-dimensions, and build a hierarchical mobile GeoBI context model which (1) is geo-spatial-extended, (2) fits with human perception of mobility, (3) takes into account the local context interactions and information-sharing with remote contexts, and (4) matches with the usual hierarchical aggregated structure of BI data.展开更多
