This paper is devoted to the analysis of the nonlinear Stability of a clamped rodcarrying electric current in the magnetic field which is produced by the current frowingin a pair of inifinitely long parallel rigid wires. The natural State of the rod is in theplane of the wires and is equidistant from them.Firstly under the assumption of apatial deformation, the governing equations of the problem are derived, and the linearizedproblem and critical currents are discussed. Secondly, it ls proved that the buckledstates of the rod are always in planes. Finally. the global responses of the bifurcationproblem of the rod are compuled numerically and the distributions of the deflections.axial forces and bending monents are obtained. The results show that the buckledslates of the rod may be either supercritical or Subcritical. depending on the distancebetween the rod and the wires. Furthermore, it is found that -there exists a limit pointon the branch solution of the supercritical buckled State. This is distinctively differentfrom the buckled slate of the elastic compressive rods. 展开更多

This paper aims at investigating the resonance frequencies and stability of a long Graphene Nano-Ribbon(GNR)carrying electric current.The governing equation of motion is obtained based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam model along with Hamilton’s principle.The transverse force distribution on the GNR due to the interaction of the electric current with its own magnetic field is determined by the Biot-Savart and Lorentz force laws.Using Galerkin’s method,the governing equation is solved and the effect of current strength and dimensions of the GNR on the stability and resonance frequencies are investigated. 展开更多

A thick SOI LIGBT structure with a combination of uniform and variation in lateral doping profiles (UVLD) on partial membrane (UVLD PM LIGBT) is proposed. The silicon substrate under the drift region is selectively etched to remove the charge beneath the buried oxide so that the potential lines can release below the membrane, resulting in an enhanced breakdown voltage. Moreover, the thick SOI LIGBT with the advantage of a large current flowing and a thermal diffusing area achieves a strong current carrying capability and a low junction temperature. The current carrying capability (VAnode = 6 V, VGate = 15 V) increases by 16% and the maximal junction temperature (1 mW/μm) decreases by 30 K in comparison with that of a conventional thin SO1 structure. 展开更多
