All 24 routing states for nonblocking swit...We experimentally demonstrate a 4 × 4 nonblocking silicon thermo-optic(TO) switch fabric consisting of three stages of tunable generalized Mach–Zehnder interferometers. All 24 routing states for nonblocking switching are characterized. The device's footprint is 4.6 mm × 1.0 mm. Measurements show that the worst cross talk of all switching states is-7.2 dB. The on-chip insertion loss is in the range of 3.7–13.1 dB. The average TO switching power consumption is 104.8 mW.展开更多
An all-fiber temperature and curvature sensor based on Mach-Zehnder interferometer(MZI)was proposed.The MZI was a sandwich structure which is composed of ring-core fiber(RCF),no-core fiber(NCF)and single-mode fiber(SM...An all-fiber temperature and curvature sensor based on Mach-Zehnder interferometer(MZI)was proposed.The MZI was a sandwich structure which is composed of ring-core fiber(RCF),no-core fiber(NCF)and single-mode fiber(SMF).The temperature and curvature can be demodulated by the wavelength shift and the intensity variation of the dips respectively in the transmission spectrum.The measurement results show that the sensitivity of curvature is−7.88 dBm/m^(−1)in the range from 3.0 m^(−1)to 4.2 m^(−1)and the sensitivity of temperature is 53.5 pm/°C in the range from 60°C to 200°C.In addition,the cascaded FBG in the proposed structure,also sensitive to temperature,was used to monitor the fluctuation of temperature.The compact structure,the real-time temperature and the high curvature sensitivity make the sensor have the potential in the field of construction health monitoring and mining safety production.展开更多

The transmission spectrum of the in-line MZI is modulated by the traditional MZI, which determines the period of the cascaded structure, while the in-line MZI's transmission spectrum is the outer envelope curve of the cascaded structure's transmission spectrum. A stable single-wavelength lasing operation is obtained at 1 527.14 nm. The linewidth is less than 0.07 nm with a side-mode suppression ratio(SMSR) over 48 d B. Fixing the in-line MZI structure on a furnace, when the temperature changes from 30 ℃ to 230 ℃, the central wavelength can be tuned within the range of 12.4 nm.展开更多

The interferometer is formed by sandwiching a segment of single mode fiber(SMF) between a segment of multi-mode fiber(MMF) and a spherical structure. It can be considered as a cascade of the traditional SMF-MMF-SMF structure and MMF-SMF-sphere structure. The transmission spectral characteristics change with the variation of applied magnetic field. The experimental results exhibit that the magnetic field sensitivities for wavelength and transmission loss are 0.047 nm/m T and 0.215 d B/m T for the interference dip around 1 535.36 nm. For the interference dip around 1548.41 nm,the sensitivities are 0.077 nm/m T and 0.243 d B/m T. Simultaneous measurement can be realized according to the different spectral responses.展开更多

Then the texture information modifies both the at...An adaptive tensor voting algorithm combined with texture spectrum is proposed. The image texture spectrum is used to get the adaptive scale parameter of voting field. Then the texture information modifies both the attenuation coefficient and the attenuation field so that we can use this algorithm to create more significant and correct structures in the original image according to the human visual perception. At the same time, the proposed method can improve the edge extraction quality, which includes decreasing the flocculent region efficiently and making image clear. In the experiment for extracting pavement cracks, the original pavement image is processed by the proposed method which is combined with the significant curve feature threshold procedure, and the resulted image displays the faint crack signals submerged in the complicated background efficiently and clearly.展开更多
