The lab and bench scale experiments were carded out effectively, in which the kinetic model is established and it can describe the transesterification reaction well. The Antoine equation of biodiesel is regressed with the vapor-liquid data cited of literature. The non-random two liquid (NRTL) model is applied to describe the system of fatty acid methyl ester (FAME), methanol and glycerol and parameters are obtained. The Ternary phase map is obtained from Aspen Plus via the liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data. In order to describe the production in a fixed-bed performs in industrial scale after being magnified 1 000 times, the Aspen Plus simulation is employed, where two flowsheets are simulated to predict material and energy consumption. The simulation results prove that at least 350. 42 kW energy consumption can be reduced per hour to produce per ton biodiesel compared with data reported in previous references.展开更多

A Fe/Al2O3 catalyst previously developed by our research group has been tested in a fluidized bed reactor (FBR). A parametric study ot the effects of some process variables, including reaction temperature and space velocity, is undertaken. The operating conditions strongly affect the catalyst performance. Methane conversion was increased by increasing the temperature and lowering the space velocity. Using temperatures between 700 and 900℃ and space velocities between 3 and 6 LN/(gcat·h), a methane conversion in the range of 25%-40% for the gas exiting the reactor could be obtained during a 6 h run. In addition, carbon was deposited in the form of nanofilaments (chain like nanofibers and multiwall nanotubes) with similar properties to those obtained in a fixed bed reactor.展开更多

It was observed that impregnation sequence of Pt and Ni can affect the performance of catalysts apparently. Catalyst with Pt first and then Ni addition showed higher EG conversion and H2 yield owing to the Ni enrichment on the surface and the proper interaction between Pt and Ni. It was observed that although SiO2 supported catalysts exhibited better activity and H2 selectivity, CeO2 supported ones had better stability. This is attributed to the less coke formation on CeO2. Increasing Pt/Ni ratio enhanced the reaction activity, and Pt3–Ni7 catalysts with 3 wt% Pt and 7 wt% Ni showed the highest activity and stability. Ni surficial enrichment facilitated the C-C bond rupture and water gas shift reactions;and Pt addition inhibited methanation reaction. Electron transfer and hydrogen spillover from Pt to Ni suppressed carbon deposition. These combined effects lead to the excellent performance of Pt3–Ni7 supported catalysts.展开更多

The reforming experiments were conducted in a tubular fixed-bed flow reactor over a temperature range of 600-800 ℃. The influences of process variables such as temperature, contact time, and water to glycerol ratio on hydrogen yield were investigated and the catalysts were charactered by ICP, BET, XRD and SEM. The results showed that high hydrogen yield was obtained from glycerol by reforming in supercritical water over the Ni/MgO-ZrO2 catalysts in a short contact time. The MgO in the catalyst showed significant promotion effect for hydrogen production likely due to the formation of the alkaline active site. Even when the glycerol feed concentration was up to 45 wt%, glycerol was completely gasified and transfered to the gas products containing hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and methane along with small amounts of carbon monoxide. At a diluted feed concentration of 5 wt%, near theoretical yield of 7 mole of H2/mol of glycerol could be obtained.展开更多

文摘Molecular copper catalysts serve as exemplary models for correlating the structure-reaction-mechanism relationship in the electrochemical CO_(2) reduction(eCO_(2)R),owing to their adaptable environments surrounding the copper metal centres. This investigation, employing density functional theory calculations, focuses on a novel family of binuclear Cu molecular catalysts. The modulation of their coordination configuration through the introduction of organic groups aims to assess their efficacy in converting CO_(2) to C_(2)products.Our findings highlight the crucial role of chemical valence state in shaping the characteristics of binuclear Cu catalysts, consequently influencing the eCO_(2)R behaviour,Notably, the Cu(Ⅱ)Cu(Ⅱ)macrocycle catalyst exhibits enhanced suppression of the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),facilitating proton trans fer and the eCO_(2)R process.Fu rthermore,we explo re the impact of diverse electro n-withdrawing and electron-donating groups coordinated to the macrocycle(R=-F,-H,and-OCH_3)on the electron distribution in the molecular catalysts.Strategic placement of-OCH_3 groups in the macrocycles leads to a favourable oxidation state of the Cu centres and subsequent C-C coupling to form C_(2) products. This research provides fundamental insights into the design and optimization of binuclear Cu molecular catalysts for the electrochemical conversion of CO_(2) to value-added C_(2) products.

文摘Exploiting efficient urea oxidation reaction(UOR)and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)catalysts are significant for energy-saving H2 production through urea-assisted water electrolysis, but it is still challenging.Herein,carbon-encapsulated CoNi coupled with CoNiMoO(CoNi@CN-CoNiMoO)is prepared by solvothermal method and calcination to enhance the activity/stability of urea-assisted water electrolysis at large current density. It exhibits good activity for UOR(E10/1,000=1.29/1.40 V)and HER(E-10/-1000=-45/-245 mV)in 1.0 M KOH+0.5 M urea solution. For the UOR||HER system,CoNi@CN-CoNiMoO only needs 1.58 V at 500 mA cm-2 and shows good stability.Density functional theory calculation suggests that the strong electronic interaction at the interface between NiCo alloy and N-doping-carbon layers can optimize the adsorption/desorption energy of UOR/HER intermediates and accelerate the water dissociation, which can expedite urea decomposition and Volmer step, thus increasing the UOR and HER activity, respectively. This work provides a new solution to design UOR/HER catalysts for H2 production through urea-assisted water electrolysis.

文摘The steam reforming of four bio-oil model compounds(acetic acid, ethanol, acetone and phenol) was investigated over Ni-based catalysts supported on Al2O3 modified by Mg,Ce or Co in this paper. The activation process can improve the catalytic activity with the change of high-valence Ni(Ni2O3,NiO) to low-valence Ni(Ni,NiO).Among these catalysts after activation, the Ce-Ni/Co catalyst showed the best catalytic activity for the steam reforming of all the four model compounds. After long-term experiment at 700°C and the S/C ratio of 9,the Ce-Ni/Co catalyst still maintained excellent stability for the steam reforming of the simulated bio-oil(mixed by the four compounds with the equal masses). With CaO calcinated from calcium acetate as CO2 sorbent, the catalytic steam reforming experiment combined with continuous in situ CO2 adsorption was performed. With the comparison of the case without the adding of CO2 sorbent, the hydrogen concentration was dramatically improved from 74.8% to 92.3%,with the CO2 concentration obviously decreased from 19.90% to 1.88%.

文摘Biodiesel industrial production based on a solid base catalyst in a fixed-bed was simulated. The simulation results prove that at least 350. 42 kW energy consumption can be reduced per hour to produce per ton biodiesel compared with data reported in previous references.

文摘Catalytic decomposition of methane using a Fe-based catalyst for hydrogen production has been studied in this work. In addition, carbon was deposited in the form of nanofilaments (chain like nanofibers and multiwall nanotubes) with similar properties to those obtained in a fixed bed reactor.

文摘Hydrogen production by steam reforming of ethylene glycol(EG) at 300℃ was investigated over SiO2 and CeO2 supported Pt–Ni bimetallic catalysts prepared by incipient wetness impregnation methods. These combined effects lead to the excellent performance of Pt3–Ni7 supported catalysts.

文摘Nano ZrO2 and MgO-ZrO2 were prepared by a self-assembly route and were employed as the support for Ni catalysts used in hydrogen production from glycerol reforming in supercritical water (SCW). At a diluted feed concentration of 5 wt%, near theoretical yield of 7 mole of H2/mol of glycerol could be obtained.

文摘Nowadays, combined steam and dry reforming of methane(CSDRM)is viewed as a new alternative for the production of high-quality syngas(termed as"metgas",H2:CO of 2.0)suitable for subsequent synthesis of methanol, considered as a promising renewable energy vector to substitute fossil fuel resources.Adequate operation conditions(molar feed composition, temperature and pressure)are required for the sole production of"metgas"while achieving high CH4,CO2 and H2O conversion levels. In this work, thermodynamic equilibrium analysis of CSDRM has been performed using Gibbs free energy minimization where;(i)the effect of temperature(range:200-1000℃),(ii)feed composition(stoichiometric ratio as compared to a feed under excess steam or excess carbon dioxide),(iii)pressure(range:1-20 bar)and,(iv)the presence of a gaseous diluent on coke yields, reactivity levels and selectivity towards"metgas"were investigated.Running CSDRM at a temperature of at least 800℃,a pressure of 1 bar and under a feed composition where CO2-H2O/CH4 is around 1.0,are optimum conditions for the theoretical production of"metgas"while minimizing C(S)formation for longer experimental catalytic runs.A second part of this work presents a review of the recent progresses in the design of(principally)Ni-based catalysts along with some mechanistic and kinetic modeling aspects for the targeted CSDRM reaction. As compared to noble metals, their high availability, low cost and good intrinsic activity levels are main reasons for increasing research dedications in understanding deactivation potentials and providing amelioration strategies for further development.Deactivation causes and main orientations towards designing deactivationresistant supported Ni nanoparticles are clearly addressed and analyzed.Reported procedures based on salient catalytic features(i.e.,acidity/basicity character, redox properties, oxygen mobility,metal-support interaction)and recently employed innovative tactics(such as confinement within mesoporous systems, stabilization through core shell structures or on carbide surfaces)are highlighted and their impact on Ni0reactivity and stability are discussed. The final aspect of this review encloses the major directions and trends for improving synthesis/preparation designs of Ni-based catalysts for the sake of upgrading their usage into industrially oriented combined reforming operations.

文摘CuO-CeO2 catalysts were prepared by a urea precipitation method for the oxidative steam reforming of ethanol at low-temperature.The catalytic performance was evaluated and the catalysts were characterized by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction,temperature-programmed reduction, field emission scanning electron microscopy and thermo-gravimetric analysis.Over CuOCeO2 catalysts,H2 with low CO content was produced in the whole tested temperature range of 250–450 C.The non-noble metal catalyst 20CuCe showed higher H2production rate than 1%Rh/CeO2 catalyst at 300–400 C and the advantage was more obvious after 20 h testing at400 C.These results further confirmed that CuO-CeO2 catalysts may be suitable candidates for low temperature hydrogen production from ethanol.

文摘Designing a catalytic system that could convert cellulose to switchable C3 alcohols or esters with controllable selectivity is highly desired to meet the rapidly changing market demand.Herein,we develop RuSn catalysts with the altering Sn loadings that can achieve acetol formation from cellulose hydrogenation at240℃in presence of H_(2)or yield methyl lactate production from cellulose conversion in methanol and water mixture at 200℃in presence of N_(2).The increased Sn contents from 3%to 6%lead to form different surface sites from Ru_(3)Sn_(7),Ru,and SnO_(x)to Ru_(3)Sn_(7)and SnO_(x).The integrated Ru_(3)Sn_(7),Ru,and SnO_(x)species on 1.5%Ru-3%Sn/SiO_(2)catalyze isomerization,retro-aldol condensation, and hydrogenation individual steps with coordinated reaction rates, resulting in the acetol formation with a high yield of 53.7 C%.Furthermore, the optimum combination of Ru_(3)Sn_(7)and SnO_(x)on 1.5%Ru-6%Sn/SiO_(2)contributes to the isomerization,retro-aldol condensation, dehydration, and 1,2-hydride shift, giving rise to the preferential production of methyl lactate at a 25.1 C%yield. These results illustrate the feasibility of controlling the selective conversion of cellulose to C3 acetol or methyl lactate by devising a tunable catalytic system, which guides the rational design of catalysts for the selective conversion of cellulose.

文摘Green hydrogen from electrolysis of water has attracted widespread attention as a renewable power source.Among several hydrogen production methods,it has become the most promising technology. However, there is no large-scale renewable hydrogen production system currently that can compete with conventional fossil fuel hydrogen production.Renewable energy electrocatalytic water splitting is an ideal production technology with environmental cleanliness protection and good hydrogen purity, which meet the requirements of future development. This review summarizes and introduces the current status of hydrogen production by water splitting from three aspects:electricity, catalyst and electrolyte. In particular, the present situation and the latest progress of the key sources of power, catalytic materials and electrolyzers for electrocatalytic water splitting are introduced. Finally, the problems of hydrogen generation from electrolytic water splitting and directions of next-generation green hydrogen in the future are discussed and outlooked. It is expected that this review will have an important impact on the field of hydrogen production from water.
文摘The electronic configuration of central metal atoms in single-atom catalysts(SACs)is pivotal in electrochemical CO_(2) reduction reaction(eCO_(2)RR).Herein,chalcogen heteroatoms(e.g.,S,Se,and Te)were incorporated into the symmetric nickel-nitrogen-carbon(Ni-N_(4)-C)configuration to obtain Ni-X-N_(3)-C(X:S,Se,and Te)SACs with asymmetric coordination presented for central Ni atoms.Among these obtained Ni-X-N_(3)-C(X:S,Se,and Te)SACs,Ni-Se-N_(3)-C exhibited superior eCO_(2)RR activity, with CO selectivity reaching~98% at-0.70 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE).The Zn-CO_(2) battery integrated with Ni-Se-N_(3)-C as cathode and Zn foil as anode achieved a peak power density of 1.82 mW cm^(-2) and maintained remarkable rechargeable stability over 20 h.In-situ spectral investigations and theoretical calculations demonstrated that the chalcogen heteroatoms doped into the Ni-N_(4)-C configuration would break coordination symmetry and trigger charge redistribution, and then regulate the intermediate behaviors and thermodynamic reaction pathways for eCO_(2)RR.Especially,for Ni-Se-N_(3)-C,the introduced Se atoms could significantly raise the d-band center of central Ni atoms and thus remarkably lower the energy barrier for the rate-determining step of ^(*)COOH formation, contributing to the promising eCO_(2)RR performance for high selectivity CO production by competing with hydrogen evolution reaction.

文摘To improve the electrocatalytic transformation of carbon dioxide (CO_(2)) to multi-carbon (C_(2+)) products is of great importance. Here we developed a nitrogen-doped Cu catalyst,by which the maximum C_(2+) Faradaic efficiency can reach 72.7%in flow-cell system, with the partial current density reaching 0.62 A cm^(-2).The in situ Raman spectra demonstrate that the *CO adsorption can be strengthened on such a N-doped Cu catalyst, thus promoting the *CO utilization in the subsequent C–C coupling step.Simultaneously, the water activation can be well enhanced by N doping on Cu catalyst.Owing to the synergistic effects, the selectivity and activity for C_(2+) products over the N-deoped Cu catalyst are much improved.
