Self-healing Performance of Composite Coatings Prepared by Phosphating and Cerium Nitrate Post-sealing 被引量:3

The phosphated and cerium nitrate post-sealed galvanized steel was firstly scratched to expose zinc layer and then placed in neutral salt spray (NSS) chamber for different durations. The microstructure and compositions of the scratches were investigated using SEM and EDS. The phases of the corrosion products were examined through XRD. The self-healing mechanism of the composite coatings was discussed. The experimental results show that the composite coatings have an excellent corrosion resistance. The corrosion products increase with corrosion time and finally cover the whole scratch. They contain phosphorous, cerium, oxygen, chloride and zinc, and are fine needle and exceedingly compact. The composite coatings are favorable self-healing. During corrosion, the self-healing ions such as Ce3+, Ce4+, PO43-, Zn2+ in the composite coatings were dissolved, migrated, recombined, and covered the exposed zinc, impeding zinc corrosion. The self-healing process of the scratches on the composite coatings can be divided into three stages, about 2 h, 4 h, and 24 h, respectively. 展开更多

Polyaniline(PANI)/Ce(NO_3)_3 composite with short fiber-like shape was synthesized successfully in a poly(2-arcylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid) aqueous solution. A comparison of SEM images found that short fiber-like composites can be obtained by controlling the dosage of Ce(NO_3)_3. The length and diameter of short fiber-like PANI/Ce(NO_3)_3 composite was about 630 and 200 nm, respectively. A special conjugated structure had formed via Ce^(3+) ions and –NH– group in the quinonoid ring of PANI, which was characterized by means of Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy, Ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis) spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). Short fiber-like PANI/Ce(NO_3)_3 composite exhibited a high conductivity, a large capacitance and an enhanced anticorrosion property. Linear four-probe method confirmed that the electrical conductivity of composites was improved with the presence of Ce^(3+) ions. The corrosion potential of PANI/Ce(NO_3)_3 composite increased to-79 mV at 10 wt% of Ce(NO_3)_3. Meanwhile, the minimum density of corrosion current(1.4 μA/cm^2) was also achieved. 展开更多

Cerium (III) tetraphenylporphyrin nitrate Ce(TPP)NO3 was synthesized by using meso- tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) and Ce(NO3).6H20 in mixture solution of CHC13 and C2HsOH (V:V=1:1). The complex was characterized by UV-Vis, FT-IR, conventional fluorescence, MALDI-TOF-MS, and ^1H NMR spectral techniques. The structure of complex was proposed viaSpectral analyses, in which tetraphenylporphyrin was coordinated to a cerium ion in a tetradentate fashion, while one nitrate was coordinated to the same cerium ion. After bubbling NO to the solution of Ce(TPP)NO3 in CH2Cl2, spectral analyses suggested that Ce(TPP)NO3 could interact with NO to form a novel complex of Ce(TPP)(NO)NO3, and NO was coordinated to the center cerium ion. When nitrogen was poured into the Ce(TPP)(NO)(NO3) solution, the complex could be reduced to Ce(TPP)NO3. 展开更多

Organic?inorganic hybrid coating on the surface of aluminum-tube used in refrigeration equipment using cerium ion (III) as the additive was fabricated by sol?gel method, and the structure of the coating was confirmed by FT-IR. The results of the characterization show that the corrosion resistance of the coating with 1.5 mmol/L cerium ion (III) gains significant improvement, in which the colour retention time of CuSO4 extends to 500 s, the anti-acid and alkali corrosion rates reduce by 67% and 70% compared with the blank one, respectively, and the salt spray tests also show good corrosion resistance. The electrochemical tests demonstrate that the self-corrosion current density and potential of the sample with hybrid coating are about 2.877×10?7 A/cm2 and?0.550 V, respectively. The metallographic and SEM images show that the hybrid coating is uniform and dense, and the EDS analysis confirms that the coating is mainly composed of Al, Si and Ce elements. 展开更多

In this study, the kinetics and mechanism of the iridium( Ⅲ ) -catalyzed oxidation of ethanol amine(EAN) by cerium(Ⅳ) in a sulfuric acid medium was investigated using titrimetric technique of redox in a temperature range of 298--313 K. It was found that the reaction is of first order with respect to Ce( Ⅳ ) and It( Ⅲ ), and a positive fractional order with respect to EAN. It was also found that the pseudo-first-order ( [EAN ] 〉〉 [ Ce ( Ⅳ) ] ) rate constant koba decreases with the increase of [ H^+ ] and [ HSO^-4 ]. Under the protection of nitrogen gas, the reaction system can initiate the polymerization of acrylonitrile, indicating the generation of free radicals. On the basis of the experimental results, a suitable mechanism was proposed. From the dependence of koba on the concentration of hydrogen sulfate, Ce(SO4)2 was found to be the kinetically active species. The rate constants of the rote-determining step together with the activation parameters were evaluated. 展开更多

Study on the extraction and separation of rare earth with new extractants is important in the rare earth chemistry and nuclear reprocessing. In this work, the extraction of Ce?with N,N,N′,N′ tetrabutylmalonamide (TBMA) in toluene from nitrate media has been investigated. The effect of the concentration of nitric acid, TBMA and salting out agent (LiNO3) and also the temperature on the distribution ratios was examined. The stoichiometries of the extracted complexes were determined to be Ce(NO3)3·3TBMA and Ce(NO3)3·4TBMA, respectively. The ap<IMG SRC="IMAGE/06170035.JPG" HEIGHT=11 WIDTH=24>parent extraction constants and the enthalpy of the extraction were calculated based on the extraction data, which are logKex1=3.97, logKex2=4.75 and =-31.25kJ·mol-1, respectively. The behavior of N,N,N′,N′-tetrabutylmalonamide(TBMA) in extraction of Tm(Ⅲ) using toluene as diluent has been investigated. The effects of the concentrations of TBMA, nitric acid, lithium nitrate, and temperature on the extraction have been studied. The composition of the extracted species was found to be Tm(NO3)3·3TBMA as characterized by IR spectrometry. The apparent equilibrium constant of extraction has been determined to be (0.61±0.18) L^6/mol^-6 at 298 K. Enthalpy of the extraction reaction is -27.61 kJ/mol. 展开更多
