Changes in visual performance after implantation of different intraocular lenses

AIM:To evaluate the trending visual performance of different intraocular lenses(IOLs)over time after implantation.METHODS:Ninety-one patients received cataract surgery with implantations of monofocal(Mon)IOLs,segmental refractive(SegRef)IOLs,diffractive(Dif)IOLs,and extendeddepth-of-focus(EDoF)IOLs were included.The aberrations and optical quality collected with iTrace and OQAS within postoperative 6mo were followed and compared.RESULTS:Most of the visual parameters improved over the postoperative 6mo.The postoperative visual acuity(POVA)of the Mon IOL,SegRef IOL,and EDoF IOL groups achieved relative stability in earlier states compared with the Dif IOL group.Nevertheless,the overall visual performance of the 3 IOLs continued to upturn in small extents within the postoperative 6mo.The optical quality initially improved in the EDoF IOL group,then in the Mon IOL,SegRef IOL,and Dif IOL groups.POVA and objective visual performance of the Mon IOL and EDoF IOL groups,as well as POVA and visual quality of the Dif IOL group,improved in the postoperative 1mo and stabilized.Within the postoperative 6mo,gradual improvements were observed in the visual acuity and objective visual performance of the SegRef IOL group,as well as in the postoperative optical quality of the Dif IOL group.CONCLUSION:The visual performance is different among eyes implanted with different IOLs.The findings of the current study provide a potential reference for ophthalmologists to choose suitable IOLs for cataract patients in a personalized solution.

Metallurgical performance evaluation of space-weathered Chang’e-5 lunar soil

Space metallurgy is an interdisciplinary field that combines planetary space science and metallurgical engineering.It involves systematic and theoretical engineering technology for utilizing planetary resources in situ.However,space metallurgy on the Moon is challenging because the lunar surface has experienced space weathering due to the lack of atmosphere and magnetic field,making the mi-crostructure of lunar soil differ from that of minerals on the Earth.In this study,scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy analyses were performed on Chang’e-5 powder lunar soil samples.The microstructural characteristics of the lunar soil may drastically change its metallurgical performance.The main special structure of lunar soil minerals include the nanophase iron formed by the impact of micrometeorites,the amorphous layer caused by solar wind injection,and radiation tracks modified by high-energy particle rays inside mineral crystals.The nanophase iron presents a wide distribution,which may have a great impact on the electromagnetic prop-erties of lunar soil.Hydrogen ions injected by solar wind may promote the hydrogen reduction process.The widely distributed amorph-ous layer and impact glass can promote the melting and diffusion process of lunar soil.Therefore,although high-energy events on the lun-ar surface transform the lunar soil,they also increase the chemical activity of the lunar soil.This is a property that earth samples and tradi-tional simulated lunar soil lack.The application of space metallurgy requires comprehensive consideration of the unique physical and chemical properties of lunar soil.

Influence of Plasma Modified Carbon Nanotubes on the Resistance Sensitiveness of Cement

The surface of carbon nanotubes(CNTs)was modified by plasma to improve the dispersion,conductivity and adsorption properties of carbon nanotubes.Cement-based composites made with plasmatreated carbon nanotubes(P-CNTs)at different perntages were tested under repeated cyclic axial compressive stress by four electrode methods to measure the electric resistance.Those made with CNTs without plasma treatment as controls were tested also.The results showed that electric resistance change values of the cement mortar with P-CNT and CNT were all monatomic corresponding to the cyclic loading.When the water-cement ratio of the mortar was fixed,increasing of the P-CNT/CNT content would increase the resistance change value of the mortars added with P-CNT/CNT,and the sensitivity performance.It has certain engineering application value.

The Investigation and Research of the Performance Appraisal of R&D Personnel in R Company

Objective To improve the creativity and enthusiasm of R&D personnel in R Company.Methods The status quo of the performance assessment of R&D personnel in R Company was studied through questionnaire and interview survey.Factor analysis and multiple linear regression method were used to find out the core factors affecting the expectation of employee performance optimization,and the regression equation of employee performance optimization was established.Results and Conclusion R&D personnel in R Company have low satisfaction with the current performance appraisal and strong self-actualization needs,so they expect to optimize the performance appraisal.The objectives and key results(OKR),a management goal-setting system,can make up the deficiencies of R&D personnel’s current performance assessment in R Company,which meets their self-realization needs to a greater extent,thus stimulating their productivity.

Evaluating the weekly changes in terrestrial water storage estimated by two different inversion strategies in the Amazon River Basin

In this study,we estimated the weekly Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment(GRACE)spherical harmonic(SH)solutions and regional mascon solutions using GRACE-based Geopotential Difference(GPD)data and investigated their abilities in retrieving terrestrial water storage(TWS)changes over the Amazon River Basin(ARB)from January 2003 to February 2013.The performance of the weekly GPD-SH and GPDmascon solutions was evaluated by comparing them with the weekly GFZ-SH solutions,Global Land Data Assimilation Systems(GLDAS)-NOAH hydrological model outputs,and monthly GFZ-SH,GPD-SH,and CSRmascon solutions in the spatio-temporal and spectral domains.The results demonstrate that the weekly GPD-SH and GPD-mascon present good consistency with the weekly GFZ-SH solutions and GLDAS-NOAH estimates in the spatio-temporal domains,but GPD-mascon presents stronger signal amplitudes and more spatial details.The comparison of the monthly average of weekly estimates and monthly solutions demonstrates that the weekly GPD-mascon and GFZ-SH with DDK1 filtering are close to the monthly CSRmascon and GFZ-SH solutions,respectively.However,the signal amplitudes of TWS changes from GPD-SH and GFZ-SH with 650 km Gaussian filtering are smaller than the monthly solutions,and the corresponding Root Mean Square Errors between the TWS change time series from the monthly average of weekly solutions and monthly estimates are 18.12 mm(GPD-mascon),18.81 mm(GFZ-SH-DDK1),24.93 mm(GPDSH-G650km),and 33.07 mm(GFZ-SH-G650km),respectively.Additionally,the TWS change time series derived from weekly solutions present more high-frequency time-varying information than monthly solutions.Furthermore,the 300 km Gaussian filtering can improve the signal amplitudes of TWS changes from the weekly GPD-SH solutions more than those with 650 km Gaussian filtering,but the corresponding noise level is higher.The weekly GPD-SH and GPD-mascon solutions can extend the application scopes of GRACE and provide good complements to the current GRACE monthly solutions.

Effect of Phase Change Materials on the Thermal Protective Performance of the Multi-layered Fabrics Examined by TPP Tester under Flash Fire

Cotton fabrics treated with phase change materials( PCMs)were used in multi-layered fabrics of the fire fighter protective clothing to study its effect on thermal protection. The thermal protective performance( TPP) of the multi-layered fabrics was measured by a TPP tester under flash fire. Results showed that the utilization of the PCM fabrics improved the thermal protective performance of the multi-layered fabrics. The fabric with a PCM add on of 41. 9% increased the thermal protection by 50. 6% and reduced the time to reach a second degree burn by 8. 4 s compared with the reference fabrics( without PCMs). The employment of the PCM fabrics also reduced the blackened areas on the inner layers. The PCM fabrics with higher PCM melting temperature could bring higher thermal protective performance.

Research on the Relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility and Financial Performance Based on Grey Correlation Analysis: Taking the Smartphone Company as an Example

In order to explore the relationship between the corporate social responsibility (CSR) and financial performance in different CSR cultures, this paper respectively takes four representative smartphone companies in China, the United States, Japan and Korea as research objects, that is Huawei, Apple, Sony and Samsung smartphone companies. Then, dividing the CSR into five dimensions i.e. shareholder, customer, supplier, technology innovation and government and establishing the grey correlation model to empirically analyze the relationship between CSR and financial performance. The results indicate that for HUAWEI, the CSR performance in shareholder, customer and technology innovation have greater impact on its financial performance;for Apple, the CSR performance in shareholder, technology innovation and customer has greater impact on its financial performance;for SONY, the CSR performance in technology innovation, customer and shareholder has greater impact on its financial performance;for Samsung, the CSR performance in technology innovation, government and shareholder has greater impact on its financial performance.

Thermal Distribution Performance of NPCM: NaCl, NaNO₃and KNO₃in the Thermal Storage System

The experiment is studied on thermal distribution in the thermal energy storage system with non-phase change materials (NPCM): NaNO3, KNO3 and NaCl in the range of 25°C - 250°C. The cylindrical storage system was made of stainless steel with 25.6 cm-diameter and 26.8 cm-height that was contained of these NPCM. There was one pipe for heat transfer fluid (HTF) with 1.27 cm-diameter that manipulates in the storage tank and submerges to NPCM. The inner pipe was connected to the 2.27 cm-diameter outer HTF tube. The tube was further connected to the thermal pump, heater and load. The pump circulates the synthetic oil (Thermia oil) within the pipe for heat transferring purposes (charging and discharging). An electric heater is used as the heat source. The limitation of the charging oil temperature is maintained at 250°C with the flow rates in the range of 0.58 to 1.45 kg/s whereas the inlet temperature of the discharge oil is maintained at 25°C. Thermal performances of TES (thermal energy storage) such as charging and discharging times, radial thermal distribution, energy storage capacity and energy efficiency have been evaluated. The experimental results show that the radial thermal distribution of NaCl for TR inside, TR middle and TR outside was optimum of temperature down to NaNO3 and KNO3 respectively. Comparison of NPCMs with oil, flow rates for NaCl were charging and discharging heat transfer than KNO3 and NaNO3. The thermal stored NaCl ranged from 5712 - 5912 J;KNO3 ranged from 7350 - 7939 J and NaNO3 ranged from 6623 - 6930 J respectively. The thermal energy stored for experimental results got with along the KNO3, NaNO3 and NaCl respectively. The thermal energy efficiency of NaCl, KNO3 and NaNO3 was in the range 66% - 70%.

Research on the Influence of Business Convergence of Listed Tourism Companies on Enterprise Performance

Studying the impact of business convergence on enterprise performance can provide empirical basis for enterprises to formulate the integrated development strategy.The business convergence degree of 28 listed tourism companies was measured by Herfindahl index,and the impact of business convergence on business performance and the moderating effect of enterprise innovation ability were discussed.The results showed that the business convergence level of listed tourism companies varied greatly.Business convergence had a significant positive impact on short-term profitability of tourism enterprises,and a significant negative impact on the growth of enterprises.Innovation ability had a positive moderating effect on the impact of business convergence on enterprise profitability,but had no significant moderating effect on the impact of business convergence on enterprise growth.The results suggest that at the present stage,the business convergence of listed tourism companies is helpful to improve the profitability of enterprises in the short term,but it does not significantly promote the long-term growth of enterprises.

Empirical Analysis of Determinant Factors of the Corporate Performance of Life Insurance Companies in China

The life insurance industry in China still stays at a primary stage of development. It is characterized by small size, low penetration, and low density. Nevertheless, China’s large population, together with the emerging middle class, and the continuously improving social and economic environment, promise the life insurance industry a bright future. The government’s limited pension reserves cannot effectively deal with the aging problem, implying that commercial insurance companies are bound to play a more critical role in alleviating the aging problem. In 2014, Chinese government issued a series of favorable policies. Life insurance companies are now allowed to invest a certain proportion of premium in high risk issues and set the return on investment (ROI) of saving insurance products higher than 2.5%. Changes in external factors and policies prompt life insurance companies to change their operation mode so that they can meet the market demand. This paper empirically analyzes operational factors (such as structure of distribution channels, structure of products, human resource, market power, etc.) that affect the corporate performance of Chinese life insurance companies. The paper aims to help life insurance companies choose a proper distribution channel, focus marketing expenses and R&D on the right product, set the scale and the salesman team at a rational size, and adjust the compensation ratio to a rational level. The data are gathered from 36 high-ranked Chinese life insurance companies from 2010 to 2014. The panel data set is analyzed via fixed effect model and panel threshold model. To avoid spurious regression, a series of preliminary tests are conducted. The results show that percentage of revenue from bancassurance channel, percentage of revenue from specialized insurance agencies, percentage of revenue from saving product, percentage of revenue from group product, size of insurers, market share of insurers, and solvency rate all have negative effect on the corporate performance of life insurance companies. If an insurer were a subsidiary of a bank, its percentage of revenue from bancassureance would have a positive effect on its corporate performance. The paper contributes to existing literature on how particular distribution channels and products of Chines life insurance companies affect their corporate performance.

The Relationship between the Performance of Listed Companies in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Inventory Turnover, Operating Rate

As an important part of the pharmaceutical industry, the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry is always at the battlefield of the international public health and health industry. At the same time, as a basic and strategic sub-industry in China's manufacturing industry, the medical manufacturing industry closely related to people’s livelihood which is not only related to social Responsibility but also plays a key role in China's economy today. For the Chinese people, the new medical reforms and the irreversible aging of the population have increased the nation’s total expenditure on health care. From January to October 2017, the pharmaceutical industry’s main business income was RMB 2,410.29 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13.10%. This is a 4.50 percentage point higher than the 10.30% growth rate in 2016. However, even if the circumstance of this industry is getting better, high growth also has a drag on the national health insurance system and the standard of living of the people. This article chooses to analyze the financial and operating-level factors of China's pharmaceutical manufacturing listed companies such as Inventory turnover rate and operating rate. Study the impact on the performance of China's pharmaceutical manufacturing listed companies. The results of the study will fill gaps in the research of this industry and help pharmaceutical manufacturing listed companies choose the right capital size, liabilities, and expansion strategies, and more effectively absorb the current development dividends of China’s “four new economy”, and use them rationally and effectively. Markets and complex and limited capital and resources of enterprises, as China's industry benchmarks continue to guide the rapid growth of the market. on the other hand, to help investor the empirical point of view better choice of investment targets. This paper uses data from 2007-2016 for randomly selecting 19 companies from 118 medical manufacturing listed companies classified by China Securities Regulatory Commission. After dealing with panel data, multiple inspections are performed on panel data. To avoid the deviation from the actual level of the regression results, the panel-corrected standard deviation model was used to derive the relationship between the operating-level factors of pharmaceutical manufacturing listed companies and their performance. The results of the study indicate that there is a positive correlation between Inventory turnover rate, operating rate and performance, which fills the domestic empirical research on this issue. This area of industry company performance is blank.

Influence of increased shares on the performance of liquor listed companies:A factor-based analysis

With the gradual deepening of the reform of the shareholding system,more and more shareholders of listed companies have taken measures to increase their shareholdings to absorb capital,while at the same time achieving the purpose of delivering good news to the market.This article uses the liquor industry as an analysis sample to build six categories of enterprise performance index evaluation systems for debt solvency,development capability,operating capability,per share capability,cash flow capability and profitability.Through factor analysis,it has been shown that the increase in shares of liquor listed companies can improve the performance of enterprises to a certain extent,but the effect of the increase in shares is also affected by other factors such as the size of the enterprise,the operation and management of the company,and the image of the product market.According to the empirical conclusion,it is proposed that on the one hand,the company should increase its shareholdings reasonably according to the company’s own situation.On the other hand,it needs to focus on the current problems of the enterprise and properly solve the current dilemma of the enterprise.Finally,according to the degree of impact of various indicators involved in the empirical test on corporate performance,it is believed that liquor listed companies need to focus on optimizing corporate asset structure and improving product sales,and on the basis of improving profitability and asset return,they should pay attention to corporate cash flow.

Testing Research of Accumulator Performance in the Hydro-pneumatic Suspension of a Vehicle

Taking a 2.5 liter accumulator with hydro-pneumatic suspension in a CXP1032 crane made in Germany as the research object and taking both the overall-road simulative test-bed and the control equipment made by the Schenck Company of Germany as the testing instrument, the structure performance and mechanism are theoretically clarified and the variation of gas states are obtained. This illustrates the accumulating and releasing process of a 2.5 liter accumulator in a 32t crane in the real condition. The preliminary volume and pressure of accumulator would directly affect the stiffness performance of the hydro-pneumatic suspension in a vehicle.

Empirical Analysis of the Relationship Between Altman’s Z-Score and Stock Performance Based on Airline Companies Listed in the United States

This research looks at any relevance between Altman’s Z-score and the stock market performance of airline companies in the United States(US).Nearly a thousand pieces of data on various aspects of operation and financial status from 81 airline companies in the US are available.Additionally,stock return is used as an indicator of firm stock performance in this paper.In order to satisfy the purpose of determining the relationship between Z-score and stock performance as well as what may be inferred from high stock returns with regard to Z-score,two different regression processes are carried out.The first regression tests the relationship between Z-score and stock return,while the second regression examines whether there is a difference in Z-scores between well-performing airline companies and poorly performing ones using dummy variables.The results reveal that there is a significant positive correlation between the Z-scores of US airline companies and their stock performance;besides,high stock returns potentially imply relatively high Z-scores and vice versa.Therefore,one of the crucial steps that US airline companies must make is to strengthen their balance sheets in order to draw investors to make investments in their businesses.

Multi‐objective particle swarm optimisation of complex product change plan considering service performance

Design change is an inevitable part of the product development process.This study proposes an improved binary multi‐objective PSO algorithm guided by problem char-acteristics(P‐BMOPSO)to solve the optimisation problem of complex product change plan considering service performance.Firstly,a complex product multi‐layer network with service performance is established for the first time to reveal the impact of change effect propagation on the product service performance.Secondly,the concept of service performance impact(SPI)is defined by decoupling the impact of strongly associated nodes on the service performance in the process of change affect propagation.Then,a triple‐objective selection model of change nodes is established,which includes the three indicators:SPI degree,change cost,and change time.Furthermore,an integer multi‐objective particle swarm optimisation algorithm guided by problem characteristics is developed to solve the model above.Experimental results on the design change problem of a certain type of Skyworth TV verify the effectiveness of the established optimisation model and the proposed P‐BMOPSO algorithm.
