After exposure to 0.5 mg L-1 CdCl2 for 3 or 7 d, the scallops were treated by COS-Ca prior to determina-tion of Cd, calcium (Ca) and zinc (Zn) contents, Cd distribution in organs, malondialdehyde (MDA) content and antioxidant variables. Results showed that COS-Ca reduced Cd content in the viscera of the scallops, with highest Cd depuration rate (47%) observed on day 3. The COS-Ca concentration substantially affected Cd depuration, and the exposure to 8.75 mg L-1 COS-Ca led to significantly higher Cd depuration rate compared with those of lower COS-Ca concentrations (1.75, 3.5, 5.25, and 7.00 mg L-1). Distribution analysis of Cd in scallop organs indicated that COS-Ca significantly reduced Cd content in the kidney throughout the 5-d experiment, as well as in the gill during the early stage of Cd depuration. In addition, COS-Ca treatment decreased glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) activity and MDA content while increasing superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) activities on different days. Our work suggested COS-Ca complex treatment as an effective method for acceleration of Cd depuration from Cd-contaminated bivalves.展开更多

The catalyst exhibits high activity and stereoselectivity under the moderate reaction conditions. The catalyst can be separated easily from the reaction mixture and reused after washing. Under the suitable reaction conditions, the cross-coupling of iodobenzene (ArI) with acrylic acid (AA) or acrylate can be achieved 93.3% or 99% yield of trans-cinnamic acid or trans-cinnamic ester.展开更多

Chitosan Copper complexes prepared having different copper concentrations by the electrochemical oxidation technique in aqueous-acetic acid medium. It was carried out at constant voltage (2 volt.) at room temperature at different electro-oxidation time. The result of partial elemental analysis and XRD studies of chitosan copper complexes compared with chitosan confirmed that the percentage composition of the complexes were found to be depend on the time of electrolysis which is in good agreement with our previous work. Interpretation of the effect of copper ions concentration on molecular motion of chitosan studied using dielectric spectroscopy, the results showed that dielectric constant of chitosan is higher than that of chitosan copper complexes. This may be attributed to the relatively fast segmental motion of chitosan chain slowed down by complexation with copper ions of all complex samples. Calculated activation energy from Arrhenius variation showed increase in value with increasing the copper concentration and all in the range that required for ionic conduction. Temperature dependence part of dielectric parameters gives very useful representation in the glass transition temperature determination.展开更多

The silver ions were preferably coordinated with the free -NH2 groups and the -OH groups of secondary alcohol and carboxyl in CMCTS. TBZ preferably bonded to carboxyl group in CMCTS by electrostatic force and hydrogen bonding. Increase in silver ions content in the complex agent improved to some limited extent the antibacterial activity, but enhanced coloring and cost of the complex agent. Increase in TBZ content resulted in increase of antifungal activity, but decrease of water solubility of the complex agent. The antimicrobial MICs of the complex agent to Esherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger, Mucor sp. were 2080, 1560, 2055, 40250, and 4001700mg/kg, respectively. Addition of 0.1% of this complex agent to acrylic emulsion paint made the paint without substantial change in color, luster, viscosity, odor or pH value, but with an excellent and chronically persisting broad-spectra antimicrobial activity.展开更多
