By finding out the common modulo 2 additions within groups of Galois field (GF) multipliers and pre-computing the common items, the GOA can reduce the number of XOR gates efficiently and thus reduce the circuit area. Different from other local optimization algorithms, the GOA is a global one. When there are more than one maximum matches at a time, the best match choice in the GOA has the least impact on the final result by only choosing the pair with the smallest relational value instead of choosing a pair randomly. The results show that the area of parallel Chien search circuits can be reduced by 51% compared to the direct implementation when the group-based GOA is used for GF multipliers and by 26% if applying the GOA to GF multipliers separately. This optimization scheme can be widely used in general parallel architecture in which many GF multipliers are involved.展开更多

It is achieved by using low computational resources which are only a single Hadamard gate combined with m + 1 quantum measurement operations. To validate the proposed method, a simulation experiment is used where the image with the highest similarity value of 0.93 to the particular test image is retrieved as the search result from 4 × 4 binary image database. The proposal provides a basic step for designing a search engine on quantum computing devices where the image in the database is retrieved based on its similarity to the test image.展开更多

It studies the minimum energy gap between the first excited state and the ground state of the system Hamiltonian and it finds that, in the case of M = 1, the algorithm has the same performance as the local adiabatic algorithm. However, the algorithm evolves globally only within a small interval, which implies that it keeps the advantages of global adiabatic algorithms without losing the speedup of the local adiabatic search algorithm.展开更多

With current trends, partitioning with multiple objectives which includes cutsize, area, delay, and power obtains much concentration. In this paper, a multi-objective greedy randomized adaptive search procedure (GRASP) is presented for simultaneous cutsize and circuit delay minimization. Each objective is assigned a preference or weight to direct the search procedure and generate a variety of efficient solutions by changing the preference. To get a good initial partition with minimal cutsize and circuit delay, the gain of each module in a circuit is computed by considering both signal nets and circuit delay. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated on a standard set of partitioning benchmark. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can generate a set of Pareto optimal solutions and is efficient for tackling multi-objective circuit partitioning.展开更多
