The controller is capable of contro...A dynamics-based adaptive control approach is proposed for a planar dual-arm space robot in the presence of closed-loop constraints and uncertain inertial parameters of the payload. The controller is capable of controlling the po- sition and attitude of both the satellite base and the payload grasped by the manipulator end effectors. The equations of motion in reduced-order form for the constrained system are derived by incorporating the constraint equations in terms of accelerations into Kane's equations of the unconstrained system. Model analysis shows that the resulting equations perfectly meet the requirement of adaptive controller design. Consequently, by using an indirect approach, an adaptive control scheme is proposed to accomplish position/attitude trajectory tracking control with the uncertain parameters be- ing estimated on-line. The actuator redundancy due to the closed-loop constraints is utilized to minimize a weighted norm of the joint torques. Global asymptotic stability is proven by using Lyapunov's method, and simulation results are also presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.展开更多

To this end, we consider a nonlinear interconnected model for multiarea power systems which also include uncertainties and timevarying communication delays. The design procedure is formulated using semi-definite programming and linear matrix inequality(LMI) method. The solution of the proposed LMIs returns necessary parameters for the tracking controllers such that the impact of model uncertainty and load disturbances are minimized. The proposed controllers are capable of receiving all or part of subsystems information, whereas the outputs of each controller are local. These controllers are designed such that the resilient stability of the overall closed-loop system is guaranteed. Simulation results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. Simulation results quantify that the distributed(and decentralized) controlled system behaves well in presence of large parameter perturbations and random disturbances on the power system.展开更多

Based on robust adaptive dynamic programming(robust ADP) method, controllers for solving the singular systems optimal control problem are designed. The proposed algorithm can work well when the system model is not exactly known but the input and output data can be measured. The policy iteration of each controller only uses their own states and input information for learning,and do not need to know the whole system dynamics. In the fifth generation(5G)wireless system,a closed-loop power control(CLPC)scheme based on deep Q learning network(DQN)is introduced to intelligently adjust the transmit power of the base station(BS),which can improv...In the fifth generation(5G)wireless system,a closed-loop power control(CLPC)scheme based on deep Q learning network(DQN)is introduced to intelligently adjust the transmit power of the base station(BS),which can improve the user equipment(UE)received signal to interference plus noise ratio(SINR)to a target threshold range.However,the selected power control(PC)action in DQN is not accurately matched the fluctuations of the wireless environment.Since the experience replay characteristic of the conventional DQN scheme leads to a possibility of insufficient training in the target deep neural network(DNN).As a result,the Q-value of the sub-optimal PC action exceed the optimal one.To solve this problem,we propose the improved DQN scheme.In the proposed scheme,we add an additional DNN to the conventional DQN,and set a shorter training interval to speed up the training of the DNN in order to fully train it.Finally,the proposed scheme can ensure that the Q value of the optimal action remains maximum.After multiple episodes of training,the proposed scheme can generate more accurate PC actions to match the fluctuations of the wireless environment.As a result,the UE received SINR can achieve the target threshold range faster and keep more stable.The simulation results prove that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional schemes.展开更多

This receiver consists of three stages. In the first stage, with constrained least mean squared (CLMS) algorithm, the desired users’ signal in an arbitrary path is passed and the inter-path interference (IPI) is reduced in other paths in each RAKE finger. Also in this stage, the multiple access interference (MAI) from other users is reduced. Thus, the matched filter (MF) can use for more reduction of the IPI and MAI in each RAKE finger in the second stage. Also in the third stage, the output signals from the matched filters are combined according to the conventional maximal ratio combining (MRC) principle and then are fed into the decision circuit of the desired user. The simulation results indicate that the SSPC algorithm and the BSA-MTP technique can significantly reduce the network bit error rate (BER) compared to the other methods. Also, we observe that significant savings in total transmit power (TTP) are possible with our methods.展开更多

An important challenge is the need of voltage control to maintain the terminal voltage of a wind plant to make it a PV bus like conventional generators with excitation control. In the previous work for controlling wind plant, especially the Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) system, the proportional-integral (PI) controllers are popularly applied. These approaches usually need to tune the PI controllers to obtain control gains as a tradeoff or compromise among various operating conditions. In this paper, a new voltage control approach based on a different philosophy is presented. In the proposed approach, the PI control gains for the DFIG system are dynamically adjusted based on the dynamic, continuous sensitivity which essentially indicates the dynamic relationship between the change of control gains and the desired output voltage. Hence, this control approach does not require any good estimation of fixed control gains because it has the self-learning mechanism via the dynamic sensitivity. This also gives the plug-and-play feature of DFIG controllers to make it promising in utility practices. Simulation results verify that the proposed approach performs as expected under various operating conditions.展开更多

One-cycle control is an effective nonlinear signal modulation control method. In this paper, a new one-cycle control scheme for DVR was proposed in single phase supply system. On the basis of principle analysis, the corresponding one-cycle control model for DVR was built up, which is characterized by simple control circuits, good control performance, and high control precision. As an example, a control model for single-phase DVR was simulated by using Matlab/Simulink and SimPowerSystem. The results show that the load voltage could be compensated quickly at the points of supply voltage stepping down and up, and the relative error was less than 4% in the whole voltage sag process. Both theory analysis and simulation results show that the new one-cycle control scheme for DVR is effective.展开更多

The fundamental component of the terminal voltage is extracted using the synchronous reference frame theory. The control signal for the series connected DVR is obtained indirectly from the extracted reference load terminal voltage. The proposed DVR control strategy is validated through extensive simulation studies using MATLAB software with its Simulink and Sim-power system (SPS) block set tool boxes.展开更多

In this paper, we propose smart step closed-loop power control (SSPC) algorithm in wireless networks in a 2D urban environment with constrained least mean squared (CLMS) algorithm. This algorithm is capable of efficiently adapting according to the environment and able to permanently maintain the chosen frequency response in the look direction while minimizing the output power of the array. Also, we present switched-beam (SB) technique for enhancing signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) in wireless networks. Also, we study an analytical approach for the evaluation of the impact of power control error (PCE) on wireless networks in a 2D urban environment. The simulation results indicate that the convergence speed of the SSPC algorithm is faster than other algorithms. Also, we observe that significant saving in total transmit power (TTP) are possible with our proposed algorithm. Finally, we discuss three parameters of the PCE, number of antenna elements, and path-loss exponent and their effects on capacity of the system via some computer simulations.展开更多

Nonlinear loads in the power distribution system cause non-sinusoidal currents and voltages with harmonic components.Shunt active filters(SAF) with current controlled voltage source inverters(CCVSI) are usually used t...Nonlinear loads in the power distribution system cause non-sinusoidal currents and voltages with harmonic components.Shunt active filters(SAF) with current controlled voltage source inverters(CCVSI) are usually used to obtain balanced and sinusoidal source currents by injecting compensation currents.However,CCVSI with traditional controllers have a limited transient and steady state performance.In this paper,we propose an adaptive dynamic programming(ADP) controller with online learning capability to improve transient response and harmonics.The proposed controller works alongside existing proportional integral(PI) controllers to efficiently track the reference currents in the d-q domain.It can generate adaptive control actions to compensate the PI controller.The proposed system was simulated under different nonlinear(three-phase full wave rectifier) load conditions.The performance of the proposed approach was compared with the traditional approach.We have also included the simulation results without connecting the traditional PI control based power inverter for reference comparison.The online learning based ADP controller not only reduced average total harmonic distortion by 18.41%,but also outperformed traditional PI controllers during transients.展开更多
There are two prominent features in the process of temperature control in solar collector field.Firstly,the dynamic model of solar collector field is nonlinear and complex,which needs to be simplified.Secondly,there a...There are two prominent features in the process of temperature control in solar collector field.Firstly,the dynamic model of solar collector field is nonlinear and complex,which needs to be simplified.Secondly,there are a lot of random and uncontrollable,measurable and unmeasurable disturbances in solar collector field.This paper uses Taylor formula and difference approximation method to design a dynamic matrix predictive control(DMC)by linearizing and discretizing the dynamic model of the solar collector field.In addition,the purpose of controlling the stability of the outlet solar field salt temperature is achieved by adjusting the mass flow of molten salt.In order to further improve the ability of the system to suppress unmeasured disturbances,a steady-state Kalman filter is designed to estimate state variables,so that the system has better stability and robustness.The simulation verification results show that the DMC control system based on Kamlan filtering has better control effect than the traditional DMC control system.In the case of large fluctuations in solar radiation intensity and consideration of undetectable interference,the overshoot of the system is reduced by 4%and the rise time remains unchanged.展开更多

This paper analyzes the power grid side and unit side influence factors on the isolated power system. The dynamic models which are suitable for islanding operation are applied to simulate and analyze the stability and dynamic characteristics of the isolated power system under the conditions of different load disturbances and governor parameters. With considering the differences of frequency characteristics between the interconnected and isolated power system, the adjusting and optimization methods of under frequency load shedding are proposed to meet the frequency stability requirements simultaneously in the two cases. Not only proper control strategies of the power plant but the settings of their parameters are suggested to improve the operation stability of the isolated power system. To confirm the correctness and effectiveness of the method mentioned above, the isolated system operation test was conducted under the real power system condition, and the results show that the proposed coordinated control strategies can greatly improve stability of the isolated power system.展开更多

Hence, this control approach does not require any good estimation of fixed control gains because it has the self-learning mechanism via the dynamic sensitivity. This also gives the plug-and-play feature of DFIG controllers to make it promising in utility practices. Simulation results verify that the proposed approach performs as expected under various operating conditions.

文摘Control strategy affects directly the working performances of dynamic voltage regulator (DVR). One-cycle control is an effective nonlinear signal modulation control method. In this paper, a new one-cycle control scheme for DVR was proposed in single phase supply system. On the basis of principle analysis, the corresponding one-cycle control model for DVR was built up, which is characterized by simple control circuits, good control performance, and high control precision. As an example, a control model for single-phase DVR was simulated by using Matlab/Simulink and SimPowerSystem. The results show that the load voltage could be compensated quickly at the points of supply voltage stepping down and up, and the relative error was less than 4% in the whole voltage sag process. Both theory analysis and simulation results show that the new one-cycle control scheme for DVR is effective.
文摘In this paper, a simple control algorithm for the dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is proposed to mitigate the power quality problems in terminal voltage such as sag, swell, harmonics, unbalance etc. Two PI (proportional-integral) controllers are used each to regulate the dc bus voltage of DVR and the load terminal voltage respectively. The fundamental component of the terminal voltage is extracted using the synchronous reference frame theory. The control signal for the series connected DVR is obtained indirectly from the extracted reference load terminal voltage. The proposed DVR control strategy is validated through extensive simulation studies using MATLAB software with its Simulink and Sim-power system (SPS) block set tool boxes.
文摘The interference reduction capability of antenna arrays and the power control algorithms have been considered separately as means to decrease the interference in wireless communication networks. In this paper, we propose smart step closed-loop power control (SSPC) algorithm in wireless networks in a 2D urban environment with constrained least mean squared (CLMS) algorithm. This algorithm is capable of efficiently adapting according to the environment and able to permanently maintain the chosen frequency response in the look direction while minimizing the output power of the array. Also, we present switched-beam (SB) technique for enhancing signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) in wireless networks. Also, we study an analytical approach for the evaluation of the impact of power control error (PCE) on wireless networks in a 2D urban environment. The simulation results indicate that the convergence speed of the SSPC algorithm is faster than other algorithms. Also, we observe that significant saving in total transmit power (TTP) are possible with our proposed algorithm. Finally, we discuss three parameters of the PCE, number of antenna elements, and path-loss exponent and their effects on capacity of the system via some computer simulations.
文摘A method of enhancing power system stability for a single machine to infinite bus power system is presented. The technique used compromises the effectiveness of Proportional-Integral-Derivative controller (PID). In order to satisfy the damping characteristics for the proposed power system over a wide range of operating interval, rotational speed, torque angle and terminal voltage signals of the synchronous machine are utilized as control signals of the system. It is well known that these variables have significant effects on damping the generators shaft mechanical oscillations, it'll be so easy to validate the most suitable controller as seen from the simulation results.

文摘A dynamic marine propeller simulation system was developed, which is utilized for meeting the experimental requirement of theory research and engineering design of marine electric propulsion system. By applying an actual ship parameter and its accurate propeller J' -KT' and J' - Kp' curve data, functional experiments based on the simulation system were carried out. The experiment results showed that the system can correctly emulate the propeller characteristics, produce the dynamic and steady performances of the propeller under different navigation modes, and present actual load torque for electric propulsion motor.
文摘A new nonlinear variable structure excitation controller is proposed. Its design combines the differential geometry theory and the variable structure controlling theory. The mathematical model in the form of "an affme nonlinear system" is set up for the control of a large-scale power system. The static and dynamic performances of the nonlinear variable structure controller are simulated. The response of system with the controller proposed is compared to that of the nonlinear optimal controller when the system is subjected to a variety of disturbances. Simulation results show that the nonlinear variable structure excitation controller gives more satisfactorily static and dynamic performance and better robustness.
文摘Nonlinear loads in the power distribution system cause non-sinusoidal currents and voltages with harmonic components.Shunt active filters(SAF) with current controlled voltage source inverters(CCVSI) are usually used to obtain balanced and sinusoidal source currents by injecting compensation currents.However,CCVSI with traditional controllers have a limited transient and steady state performance.In this paper,we propose an adaptive dynamic programming(ADP) controller with online learning capability to improve transient response and harmonics.The proposed controller works alongside existing proportional integral(PI) controllers to efficiently track the reference currents in the d-q domain.It can generate adaptive control actions to compensate the PI controller.The proposed system was simulated under different nonlinear(three-phase full wave rectifier) load conditions.The performance of the proposed approach was compared with the traditional approach.We have also included the simulation results without connecting the traditional PI control based power inverter for reference comparison.The online learning based ADP controller not only reduced average total harmonic distortion by 18.41%,but also outperformed traditional PI controllers during transients.

文摘There are two prominent features in the process of temperature control in solar collector field.Firstly,the dynamic model of solar collector field is nonlinear and complex,which needs to be simplified.Secondly,there are a lot of random and uncontrollable,measurable and unmeasurable disturbances in solar collector field.This paper uses Taylor formula and difference approximation method to design a dynamic matrix predictive control(DMC)by linearizing and discretizing the dynamic model of the solar collector field.In addition,the purpose of controlling the stability of the outlet solar field salt temperature is achieved by adjusting the mass flow of molten salt.In order to further improve the ability of the system to suppress unmeasured disturbances,a steady-state Kalman filter is designed to estimate state variables,so that the system has better stability and robustness.The simulation verification results show that the DMC control system based on Kamlan filtering has better control effect than the traditional DMC control system.In the case of large fluctuations in solar radiation intensity and consideration of undetectable interference,the overshoot of the system is reduced by 4%and the rise time remains unchanged.
文摘As the existing coordinated control strategies between grid and unit have limitations in isolated power system, this paper introduces new coordinated control strategies which can improve the stability of isolated system operation. This paper analyzes the power grid side and unit side influence factors on the isolated power system. The dynamic models which are suitable for islanding operation are applied to simulate and analyze the stability and dynamic characteristics of the isolated power system under the conditions of different load disturbances and governor parameters. With considering the differences of frequency characteristics between the interconnected and isolated power system, the adjusting and optimization methods of under frequency load shedding are proposed to meet the frequency stability requirements simultaneously in the two cases. Not only proper control strategies of the power plant but the settings of their parameters are suggested to improve the operation stability of the isolated power system. To confirm the correctness and effectiveness of the method mentioned above, the isolated system operation test was conducted under the real power system condition, and the results show that the proposed coordinated control strategies can greatly improve stability of the isolated power system.
