By testing the temperature of the coal and the stress of the working surface, we got the variation law of coal temperature and coal stress during the excavation. The result shows that the activities of mining affect the coal temperature, the fluctuation of coal temperature and the coal stress is synchronous. During the smooth change of crustal stress, the coal temperature basically keeps unchanged, when the dynamic phenomenon appears, the coal temperature changes, as well the coal stress. Therefore, we can use the online coal temperature monitoring system to test the coal temperature of the working surface continuously, and it can provide basic information for forecasting coal mine power disaster before it happens. 展开更多

By analyzing previous studies on activation energy of coal oxidation at low temperatures, a theoretical calculation model of apparent activation energy is established. Yield of CO is measured by using the characteristic detector of coal oxidation at 30-90 ℃. The impact of parameters, such as airflow and particle size, on activation energies is analyzed. Finally, agreement was obtained between activation energies and the dynamic oxygen absorbed in order to test the accuracy of the model. The results show that: 1) a positive exponential relation between concentration of CO and temperature in the process of the experiment is obtained: increases are almost identical and the initial CO is low; 2) the apparent activation energies increase gradually with the sizes of particle at the same airflow, but the gradients increase at a decreasing rate; 3) the apparent activation energies increase linearly with airflow. For the five coal particles, the differences among the energies are relatively high when the airflow was low, but the differences were low when the airflow was high; 4) the optimum sizes of particle, 0.125-0.25 ram, and the optimum volume of airflow, 100 mL/min, are determined from the model; 5) the apparent activation energies decrease with an increase in oxygen absorbed. A negative exponential relation between the two is obtained, 展开更多

The exact shape and size of the gasification channel during underground coal gasification(UGC) are of vital importance for the safety and stability of the upper parts of the geological formation. In practice existing geological measurements are insufficient to obtain such information because the coal seam is typically deeply buried and the geological conditions are often complex. This paper introduces a cylindrical model for the gasification channel. The rock and soil masses are assumed to be homogeneous and isotropic and the effect of seepage on the temperature field was neglected. The theory of heat conduction was used to write the equation predicting the temperature field around the gasification channel. The idea of an excess temperature was introduced to solve the equations.Applying this model to UCG in the field for an influence radius,r,of 70 m gave the model parameters,u1,2,3...,of 2.4,5.5,8.7...By adjusting the radius(2,4,or 6 m) reasonable temperatures of the gasification channel were found for 4 m.The temperature distribution in the vertical direction, and the combustion volume, were also calculated.Comparison to field measurements shows that the results obtained from the proposed model are very close to practice. 展开更多

The low temperature coal tar(CT)is taken as the raw material, and the extraction and column chromatography are used for detailed and accurate characterization in this paper. The n-heptane soluble fraction(CT-HS)and insoluble fraction(CT-HI)were obtained by n-heptane Soxhlet extraction. The extraction rate of CT-HS reached 92.79%(mass),which indicated that there are few heavy compounds in it.Further, different solvents(methylbenzene, benzene, ethyl acetate,methylbenzene-ethanol)were used to elute CT-HS by chromatographic column to obtain five fractions(saturates, aromatics, heteroatoms, phenolics and resins, named CT-SA,CT-AR,CT-HE,CT-PH,CT-RE,respectively).The yields of CTSA,CT-AR,CT-HE,CT-PH,CT-RE are 42.12%,10.43%,2.19%,9.50%and 6.63%(mass),respectively.Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis of eluting components show that alkanes are the main components in CT,followed by polycyclic aromatics, and the corresponding fractions are CT-SA and CT-AR,respectively.The relative content of aliphatics in CT-SA is 76.93%,and the relative content of aromatics in CT-AR is 75.05%.This separation technology effectively separates and enriches different components in CT,and the activation energy required for the pyrolysis process of a single eluting fraction is lower than that of CT,which is expected to provide an important reference for the separation, analysis and conversion of complex oil products such as coal-oil co-processing products, coal tar and other complex heavy carbon oil products. 展开更多

Various semicokes were obtained from medium-low temperature pyrolysis of Dongrong long flame coal. The proximate analysis, calorific value and Hardgrove grindability index(HGI) of semicokes were determined, and the ignition temperature, burnout temperature, ignition index, burnout index, burnout ratio, combustion characteristic index of semicokes were measured and analyzed using thermogravimetry analysis(TGA).The effects of pyrolysis temperature, heating rate, and pyrolysis time on yield, composition and calorific value of long flame coal derived semicokes were investigated, especially the influence of pyrolysis temperature on combustion characteristics and grindability of the semicokes was studied combined with X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis of semicokes. The results show that the volatile content, ash content and calorific value of semicokes pyrolyzed at all process parameters studied meet the technical specifications of the pulverized coal-fired furnaces(PCFF) referring to China Standards GB/T 7562-1998.The pyrolysis temperature is the most influential factor among pyrolysis process parameters. As pyrolysis temperature increases, the yield, ignition index, combustion reactivity and burnout index of semicokes show a decreasing tend, but the ash content increases. In the range of 400 and 450 °C,the grindability of semicokes is rational, especially the grindability of semicokes pyrolyzed at 450 °C is suitable.Except for the decrease of volatile content and increase of ash content, the decrease of combustion performance of semicokes pyrolyzed at higher temperature should be attributed to the improvement of the degree of structural ordering and the increase of aromaticity and average crystallite size of char.It is concluded that the semicokes pyrolyzed at the temperature of 450 °C is the proper fuel for PCFF. 展开更多

In order to study temperature field distribution in burnt surrounding rock and to determine ranges of burnt surrounding rock, coal-wall coking cycle and heat influence in the underground coal gasification(UCG) stope, based on the Laplace transform and inversion formula, we studied the temperature analytical solution of one-dimensional unsteady heat conduction for multi-layer overlying strata under the first and the forth kinds of boundary conditions, and we also carried out a numerical simulation of twodimensional unsteady heat conduction by the COMSOL multiphysics. The results show that when the boundary temperature of surrounding rock has a linear decrease because of a directional movement of heat source in the UCG flame working face, the temperature in surrounding rock increases first and then decreases with time, the peak of temperature curve decreases gradually and its position moves inside surrounding rock from the boundary. In the surrounding rock of UCG stope, there is an envelope curve of temperature curve clusters. We analyzed the influence of thermophysical parameters on envelope curves and put forward to take envelope curve as the calculation basis for ranges of burnt surrounding rock, coal-wall coking cycle and heat influence. Finally, the concrete numerical values are given by determining those judgement standards and temperature thresholds, which basically tally with the field geophysical prospecting results. 展开更多

Laojunmiao coal samples from the eastern Junggar basin were studied to understand the relationship between coal resistivity and the physical parameters of coal reservoirs under high temperatures and pressures.Specifically,we analysed the relationship of coal resistivity to porosity and permeability via heating and pressurization experiments. The results indicated that coal resistivity decreases exponentially with increasing pressure.Increasing the temperature decreases the resistivity. The sensitivity of coal resistivity to the confining pressure is worse when the temperature is higher. The resistivity of dry coal samples was linearly related to φ~m.Increasing the temperature decreased the cementation exponent(m).Increasing the confining pressure exponentially decreases the porosity.Decreasing the pressure increases the resistivity and porosity for a constant temperature.Increasing the temperature yields a quadratic relationship between the resistivity and permeability for a constant confining pressure.Based on the Archie formula,we obtained the coupling relationship between coal resistivity and permeability for Laojunmiao coal samples at different temperatures and confining pressures. 展开更多

The CO_2 permeability of fractured coal is of great significance to both coalbed gas extraction and CO_2 storage in coal seams, but the effects of high confining pressure, high injection pressure and elevated temperature on the CO_2 permeability of fractured coal with different fracture extents have not been investigated thoroughly. In this paper, the CO_2 permeability of fractured coals sampled from a Pingdingshan coal mine in China and artificially fractured to a certain extent is investigated through undrained triaxial tests. The CO_2 permeability is measured under the confining pressure with a range of 10–25 MPa, injection pressure with a range of 6–12 MPa and elevated temperature with a range of 25–70°C. A mechanistic model is then proposed to characterize the CO_2 permeability of the fractured coals. The effects of thermal expansion, temperature-induced reduction of adsorption capacity, and thermal micro-cracking on the CO_2 permeability are explored. The test results show that the CO_2 permeability of naturally fractured coal saliently increases with increasing injection pressure. The increase of confining pressure reduces the permeability of both naturally fractured coal and secondarily fractured coal. It is also observed that initial fracturing by external loads can enhance the permeability, but further fracturing reduces the permeability. The CO_2 permeability decreases with the elevation of temperature if the temperature is lower than 44°C, but the permeability increases with temperature once the temperature is beyond 44°C. The mechanistic model well describes these compaction mechanisms induced by confining pressure, injection pressure and the complex effects induced by elevated temperature. 展开更多
