Knowledge and associated factors of healthcare workers on measles vaccine and cold chain management at health institutions in Gondar,Ethiopia

Objective:To assess the knowledge of healthcare workers on the measles vaccine and its cold chain management.Method:An institutional-based cross-sectional study was conducted from February 1 to March 30,2022 in Gondar City Administration public health institutions among 165 healthcare workers.Data were collected using a structured questionnaire.In addition,an on-spot observation checklist was used to assess the availability,status and management of the cold chain.A logistic regression model was used to assess the relationship between the outcome and predictor variables.Crude and adjusted odds ratios were calculated with 95%confidence intervals.Results:Overall,87(52.7%;95%CI 44.8%-60.5%)of the healthcare workers had unsatisfactory knowledge regarding the measles vaccine and its cold chain management.One hundred thirty-six(82.4%)healthcare workers correctly mentioned the recommended range of temperature(2-8℃)for measles vaccine storage.Healthcare workers aged 18-29 years(P=0.001)and 30-44 years(P=0.014)were observed as determinants of unsatisfactory knowledge on the measles vaccine and its cold chain management.One hundred and five(63.6%)of the healthcare workers did not correctly mention the type of measles vaccine used in routine immunization.More than one-third(36.4%)of the healthcare workers perceived that the measles vaccine is not safe and could cause measles.Conclusions:More than half of the healthcare workers in the study area had unsatisfactory knowledge on the measles vaccine and its cold chain management.It is necessary to provide technical support and in-service training for healthcare workers to ensure optimal immunization effectiveness.

Multi-Objective Cold Chain Path Optimization Based on Customer Satisfaction

To improve customer satisfaction of cold chain logistics of fresh agricultural goods enterprises and reduce the comprehensive distribution cost composed of fixed cost, transportation cost, cargo damage cost, refrigeration cost, and time penalty cost, a multi-objective path optimization model of fresh agricultural products distribution considering client satisfaction is constructed. The model is solved using an enhanced Elitist Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II), and differential evolution is incorporated to the evolution operator. The algorithm produced by the revised algorithm produces a better Pareto optimum solution set, efficiently balances the relationship between customer pleasure and cost, and serves as a reference for the long-term growth of organizations. .

The potential role of the “cold chain” in the spread of SARS-CoV-2

Direct transmission of SARS-CoV-2 involves two main aspects:it can occur by inhaling either droplets or aerosols in the air containing viruses.In addition,viruses can also spread after being deposited on inanimate surfaces.Recently,there were reports suggested that SARS-CoV-2 can be found in frozen products.The cold chain creates opportunities for the spread of SARS-CoV-2.With the advent of winter,the drop in outside temperature makes the“frozen chain”less likely to be destroyed;thus,the virus will survive longer on frozen products.During the transportation of imported food,there is a greater risk of virus infection.Therefore,we should be vigilant and strengthen the quarantine of each type of imported food.

Process Reengineering of Cold Chain Logistics of Agricultural Products Based on Low-carbon Economy

Through the process analysis of cold chain logistics of agricultural products,we find that cold chain logistics of agricultural products contradict the development model of low-carbon economy to some extent.We apply the development idea of low-carbon economy,introduce the thirdparty logistics companies,establish distribution center of cold chain logistics of agricultural products,and strengthen information sharing,to reengineer the process of cold chain logistics of agricultural products in China.The results show that applying low-carbon economy to process reengineering of cold chain logistics of agricultural products,has advantages of increasing added value of products,promoting scale merit and abating lag,plays a role in promoting emission reduction,high efficiency and environmental protection in the process of cold chain logistics of agricultural products in China.

Models for Location Inventory Routing Problem of Cold Chain Logistics with NSGA-Ⅱ Algorithm

In this paper,a novel location inventory routing(LIR)model is proposed to solve cold chain logistics network problem under uncertain demand environment. The goal of the developed model is to optimize costs of location,inventory and transportation.Due to the complex of LIR problem( LIRP), a multi-objective genetic algorithm(GA), non-dominated sorting in genetic algorithm Ⅱ( NSGA-Ⅱ) has been introduced. Its performance is tested over a real case for the proposed problems. Results indicate that NSGA-Ⅱ provides a competitive performance than GA,which demonstrates that the proposed model and multi-objective GA are considerably efficient to solve the problem.

This paper designs a set of semi-automatic intelligent cold chain cargo proximity warning system with wireless data transmission, lightweight Optical Character Recognition identification algorithm framework and electronic label automatic warning as the core technology for cold chain dairy Fast Moving Consumer Goods contractors. In terms of hardware, Pulse Frequency Modulation modulation and demodulation are used as the main technology to realize wireless transmission and reception of equipment, and digital electronic tags are added to warn the same batch of upcoming goods. Study On Benefit Distribution of Improved Shapley Value in Fresh Agricultural Cold Chain

This article studies the problem of fresh agricultural cold chain and constructs a comprehensive benefit distribution model with improved Shapley value.First of all,this article considers the influence of input factors,risk factors,effort level on benefit distribution,and uses the entropy method,the order relationship analysis method to determine the benefit distribution coefficient under each influence factor.Then,this article establishes a comprehensive benefit distribution model,and uses the Topsis method to calculate the weight of each participating enterprise.Finally,the simulation result shows the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed methods.The profit distribution model in this article takes into account the degree of contribution to participating enterprises to the cooperation and their satisfaction with the benefits distribution,solves the problem of unfair benefits distribution of the fresh agricultural cold chain,and thus promotes the stability of the cooperation among participating enterprises.

The Study on the Framework and Implementation Scheme of the Railway Intelligent Cold Chain Logistics System

With the development of intelligent and communication technology, traditional logistics has gradually transformed into intelligent logistics. The construction of the railway intelligent cold chain logistics system is an effective measure to implement the structural adjustment of supply, which conforms to the times. Firstly, basic features and design principles of the railway intelligent cold chain logistics system were described. Secondly, target functions and the system framework of the railway intelligent cold chain logistics were put forward, which takes information service as a foundation, management service as a guarantee, business capability as kernel and expansion capability as support. Subsequently, the technical approaches were studied at the hardware, processing and software levels. Research on the Identification of Core Technologies of China’s Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Based on Patent Analysis

Objective To study the identification method that aims at the research and development target and makes the limited resources be optimized.With the frequent occurrence of potential drug safety hazards and the vigorous development of biomedicine,China’s pharmaceutical cold chain is facing huge opportunities and challenges.Under this background,it’s vital to promote the research and development of Chinese pharmaceutical cold chain technology.Methods First,China’s pharmaceutical cold chain patents were sorted out through the literature research method and patent analysis method,de-noises and cleans the data,uses the international patent classification(IPC)numbers as the pharmaceutical cold chain technology.Then,the IPC number co-occurrence matrix was constructed.Third,UCINET was used to visualize,draw the IPC number co-occurrence network.After that,K-cores analysis was applied to initially screen the core technology so as to build a comprehensive evaluation index system to evaluate the core technologies.Finally,Condorcet voting method was used to integrate the evaluation results to identify the core technologies.Results and Conclusion Based on this method,it can provide theoretical guidance for the development and decision-making of Chinese pharmaceutical cold chain enterprises,helping them break through technical barriers and improving the efficiency of Chinese pharmaceutical cold chain logistics.

Investigation and Analysis of Agricultural Cold Chain Logistics and Its Development Strategy in Heilongjiang Province

Accelerating the development of agricultural cold chain logistics is of great significance to improve the competitiveness of agricultural products,increase rural incomes and ensure food security. The present situation and main problems of agricultural cold chain logistics in Heilongjiang Province were analyzed from five aspects,such as the scale of construction,infrastructure,status quo of cold chain logistics technology,cold chain logistics enterprises and development environment,and proposed that Heilongjiang Province should focus on the development of poultry,fruit and vegetable,aquatic products,and processed food cold chain,then the strategic implementation measures for above areas were put forward.

Safety reliability optimal allocation of food cold chain

This paper applied the safety reliability of food cold chain logistics to establish reliability allocation model for cold chain systems, designed optimization algorithms, and made a case analysis. By applying system reliability allocation principle, this article firstly built safety reliability allocation model of food cold chain logistics system without cost constraint based on the safety reliability model of food cold chain logistics system, and then it set up optimal decision- making model of food cold chain logistics system with cost constraint using the functional relationship between the time, temperature of cold chain logistics and logistics costs. Next, according to the characteristics of the model, a heuristic algorithm was proposed to allocate safety reliability of the system to each cold chain unit so as to achieve the goal of operatingcosts optimization subject to assurance ofoverall safety reliability of the cold chain system. Taking the safety impact factor of food cold chain unit as a weight, the article also deduced the equation of reallocation of safety reliability of food cold chain system. In the end, these models were used to optimize the allocation of safety reliability in an example of Sushi cold chain process. It provided a new thought and method to optimally plan the unit safety of food cold chain system as well as reduce the cost of food cold chain.

An Analysis of the Cold Chain Logistics concerning Agricultural Products in Chongqing City

Agriculture is the foundation of the national economy. On the one hand,there is increasing demand for fresh and safe refrigerated agricultural products; on the other hand,the current cold chain logistics is relatively underdeveloped and has many problems. This paper does a research on the major large-scale agricultural cold-chain logistics companies in Chongqing,and finds that cold-chain logistics in Chongqing has some problems such as incomplete industrial chain,relatively backward infrastructure,lack of talents,and high logistics costs. Some solutions to these problems are put forward: improving chain logistics infrastructure; strengthening personnel training; building information platform to create a new model of the cold-chain logistics in the Internet era; seeking government's policy and financial support.

Prediction on Cold Chain Logistics Demand of Urban Residents in Jiangsu Province during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan Period——Based on Estimates of GM(1,1) Model

This paper takes the total yield of products that need refrigerated transport as the impact factors of transport aggregate of cold chain logistics,such as meat,aquatic products,quick-frozen noodle,fruits,vegetables,dairy,and medicine.Through selecting the consumption data of urban residents on transported products via cold chain in Jiangsu Province from 2005 to 2000 as sample,this paper establishes grey prediction model GM(1,1) of cold chain logistics demand and uses DPS7.05 software for test,to predict the cold chain logistics demand of urban residents in Jiangsu Province during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period.The results show that in the period 2010-2015,the cold chain logistics demand of urban residents in Jiangsu Province is 1 151.589 1,1 185.136 6,1 219.661 3,1 255.191 8,1 291.757 3,1 329.388 1 t respectively;in the period 2005-2010,the cold chain logistics demand of urban residents in Jiangsu Province increases at annual growth rate of 3.9%;in the period 2011-2015,the growth rate declines to some extent,increasing slowly at rate of 2.9%.

Assessment of Medicines Cold Chain Storage Conformity with the World Health Organization Requirements in Health Facilities in Tanzania

A descriptive study on assessment of medicines cold chain storage conformity with World Health Organization (WHO) requirements in public health facilities was carried out in Dar es Salaam and Dodoma regions. Storage conformity in selected health facilities was assessed by monitoring temperature using temperature data loggers mounted in the refrigerators for a period of 30 days. Results indicated almost half of the health facilities 48.5% visited, did not significantly (P = 0.031) comply with storage temperature (+2°C to +8°C) as per WHO requirement because all recorded Mean Kinetic temperature (MKT) > 8°C. In rural areas, 59.2% of visited health facilities adhered to the WHO recommended storage temperature while in urban areas only 31.6% complied. The study has established electricity failure in urban and lack of gas in rural areas coupled with absence of contingency plan as major challenges to WHO temperature conformity in storage of cold chain medicines in health facilities in Tanzania.

Cold chain and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 transmission:a review for challenges and coping strategies

Since June 2020,the re-emergence of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)epidemics in parts of China was linked to the cold chain,which attracted extensive attention and heated discussions from the public.According to the typical characteristics of these epidemics,we speculated a possible route of transmission from cold chain to human.A series of factors in the supply chain contributed to the epidemics if the cold chain were contaminated by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),such as temperature,humidity,personal hygiene/protection,and disinfection.The workers who worked in the cold chain at the receiving end faced a higher risk of being infected when they were not well protected.Facing the difficult situation,China put forward targeted and powerful countermeasures to block the cold chain-related risk.However,in the context of the unstable pandemic situation globally,the risk of the cold chain needs to be recognized and evaluated seriously.Hence,in this review,we reviewed the cold chain-related epidemics in China,analyzed the possible mechanisms,introduced the Chinese experience,and suggested coping strategies for the global epidemic prevention and control.

Optimization of Preservation on Fresh-cut Yam under Simulated Cold-chain Process

[Objectives]This study was conducted to investigate the effect of compound fresh-keeping liquid on the browning and quality of fresh-cut yam during the cold chain process.[Methods]Under the simulated cold chain condition of 4℃,a uniform design(U6*(64))experiment was carried out to optimize the compound preservative formula,and a better compound preservative formula was obtained using the regression equation.[Results]The compound preservative formula was:AA 0.25%,CA 0.5%,Nisin 0.09%,GSH 0.15%.The compound fresh-keeping liquid effectively delayed the browning of fresh-cut yam and the accumulation of MDA,maintained the content of TSS,inhibited the activity of PAL and delayed the appearance of the maximum activity of POD and POD.[Conclusions]This study provides technical support for the actual extension of the shelf life of fresh-cut yam.

Optimization Model of Cold-Chain Logistics Network for Fresh Agricultural Products —Taking Guangdong Province as an Example

Cold-chain demand of fresh agricultural products is increasing in China, while network layout of cold-chain logistics is in disorder and its cost is huge. To address this problem, this paper casts an optimal model of cold-chain logistics network and tackles it with genetic algorithms. This optimal model takes running total cost of logistics network as the objective, and embeds a nonlinear mixed integer programming including two assignment issues. The model determines optimal layout and logistics management for pre-cooling stations and logistics center for fresh agricultural products. Our main contribution is to consider construction cost and operation cost of cold chain logistics simultaneously. Case study illustrates the effectiveness of the model.
