Microalgae are unicellular photosynthetic microorganisms that are commonly found in saline or freshwater environments.Over the years,microalgae represent promising sources of sustainable bioactivities with past literatures reflecting a growing interest in algae-based dietary supplements in the form of whole biomass.Notably,the bioactive molecules that can be identified and extracted in microalgae have scientifically proven to contain therapeutic properties which can be beneficial to human health.With the increasing occurrence of global health threats such as antimicrobial resistance and cancer,this has resulted in considerable attention for microalgae study especially in the medicinal field.Although studies have proved the therapeutic potentials of high-value bioproducts in microalgae,however,there is still room to understand their potential therapeutic properties on humans’health,discovering novel microalgae-derived bioactive compounds,as well as translating the lab-based evidence to clinical trial studies.This review will focus on accessing the biochemical compositions of commercialised microalgae species from 2007 to 2020,and the activity of their biologically active molecules in eliciting selected therapeutic potentials which are anti-oxidative,anti-inflammatory,anti-microbial and anti-cancer properties.This review article will also be looking at the research gaps in addition to the above four major selected therapeutic potentials,and future prospective. 展开更多

Regarding the lane keeping system,path tracking accuracy and lateral stability at high speeds need to be taken into account especially for commercial vehicles due to the characteristics of larger mass,longer wheelbase and higher mass center.To improve the performance mentioned above comprehensively,the control strategy based on improved artificial potential field(APF)algorithm is proposed.In the paper,time to lane crossing(TLC)is introduced into the potential field function to enhance the accuracy of path tracking,meanwhile the vehicle dynamics parameters including yaw rate and lateral acceleration are chosen as the repulsive force field source.The lane keeping controller based on improved APF algorithm is designed and the stability of the control system is proved based on Lyapunov theory.In addition,adaptive inertial weight particle swarm optimization algorithm(AIWPSO)is applied to optimize the gain of each potential field function.The co-simulation results indicate that the comprehensive evaluation index respecting lane tracking accuracy and lateral stability is reduced remarkably.Finally,the proposed control strategy is verified by the HiL test.It provides a beneficial reference for dynamics control of commercial vehicles and enriches the theoretical development and practical application of artificial potential field method in the field of intelligent driving. 展开更多

Solid-state batteries are commonly acknowledged as the forthcoming evolution in energy storage technologies.Recent development progress for these rechargeable batteries has notably accelerated their trajectory toward achieving commercial feasibility.In particular,all-solid-state lithium-sulfur batteries(ASSLSBs)that rely on lithium-sulfur reversible redox processes exhibit immense potential as an energy storage system,surpassing conventional lithium-ion batteries.This can be attributed predominantly to their exceptional energy density,extended operational lifespan,and heightened safety attributes.Despite these advantages,the adoption of ASSLSBs in the commercial sector has been sluggish.To expedite research and development in this particular area,this article provides a thorough review of the current state of ASSLSBs.We delve into an in-depth analysis of the rationale behind transitioning to ASSLSBs,explore the fundamental scientific principles involved,and provide a comprehensive evaluation of the main challenges faced by ASSLSBs.We suggest that future research in this field should prioritize plummeting the presence of inactive substances,adopting electrodes with optimum performance,minimizing interfacial resistance,and designing a scalable fabrication approach to facilitate the commercialization of ASSLSBs. 展开更多

Due to the need for massive device connectivity,low communication latency,and various customizations in 6G architecture,a distributed cloud deployment approach will be more relevant to the space-air-ground-sea integrated network scenario.However,the openness and heterogeneity of the 6G network cause the problems of network security.To improve the trustworthiness of 6G networks,we propose a trusted computing-based approach for establishing trust relationships inmulti-cloud scenarios.The proposed method shows the relationship of trust based on dual-level verification.It separates the trustworthy states of multiple complex cloud units in 6G architecture into the state within and between cloud units.Firstly,SM3 algorithm establishes the chain of trust for the system’s trusted boot phase.Then,the remote attestation server(RAS)of distributed cloud units verifies the physical servers.Meanwhile,the physical servers use a ring approach to verify the cloud servers.Eventually,the centralized RAS takes one-time authentication to the critical evidence information of distributed cloud unit servers.Simultaneously,the centralized RAS also verifies the evidence of distributed RAS.We establish our proposed approach in a natural OpenStack-based cloud environment.The simulation results show that the proposed method achieves higher security with less than a 1%system performance loss. 展开更多

Application of Connected Truck Data to Evaluate Spatiotemporal Impact of Rest Area Closures on Ramp Parking

Rest areas and private truck s... Ensuring adequate access to truck parking is critical to the safe and efficient movement of freight traffic. There are strict federal guidelines for commercial truck driver rest periods. Rest areas and private truck stops are the only places for the trucks to stop legally and safely. In locations without sufficient parking areas, trucks often park on interstate ramps, which create safety risks for other interstate motorists. Historically, agencies have employed costly and time intensive manual counting methods, camera surveillance, and driver surveys to assess truck parking. Connected truck data, available in near real-time, offers an efficient alternative to practitioners to assess truck parking patterns and identify areas where there may be insufficient safe parking spaces. This paper presents a case study of interstate I-70 in east central Indiana and documents the observed spatiotemporal impacts of a rest area closure on truck parking on nearby interstate ramps. Results showed that there was a 28% increase in parking on ramps during the rest area closure. Analysis also found that ramps closest to the rest area were most impacted by the closure, seeing a rise in truck parking sessions as high as 2.7 times. Parking duration on the ramps during rest area closure also increased drastically. Although it was expected that this would result in increased parking by trucks on adjacent ramps, this before, during, after scenario provided an ideal scenario to evaluate the robustness of these techniques to assess changing parking characteristics of long-haul commercial trucks. The data analytics and visualization tools presented in this study are scalable nationwide and will aid stakeholders in informed data-driven decision making when allocating resources towards improving the nations commercial vehicle parking infrastructure. 展开更多

目的研究我国普惠型商业医疗保险目前特定高额药品(以下简称“特药”)保障的范围及水平,为进一步完善普惠型商业医疗保险的保障水平提供参考。方法通过官方公众号、投保小程序收集2022年普惠型商业医疗保险的保障政策,采用政策文本分析... 目的研究我国普惠型商业医疗保险目前特定高额药品(以下简称“特药”)保障的范围及水平,为进一步完善普惠型商业医疗保险的保障水平提供参考。方法通过官方公众号、投保小程序收集2022年普惠型商业医疗保险的保障政策,采用政策文本分析法提取和分析参保条件、筹资标准、特药的类别及保障水平等内容。结果2022年普惠型商业医疗保险所包含特药数量的均数为28种,以肿瘤药为主。54.62%的商业医疗保险方案特药起付线设定为0,报销比例的均数为74%、中位数为80%。70.54%的商业医疗保险方案封顶线在100万元及以下。58.04%的商业医疗保险方案保障既往症人群的特药费用,但保障水平在不同程度上有所降低。结论我国普惠型商业医疗保险的特药保障有助于减轻患者的经济负担,满足患者多元化用药需求,但对既往症人群的保障水平较为有限。建议进一步优化特药保障责任,明确特药目录的遴选规则。 展开更多

The current study extends the previous literature by exploring the effects of a newly discovered driver,i.e.,import taxes(as a proxy for commercial policies),on the consumption-based carbon emissions(CCO2e)for 1990Q1-2017Q4.For empirical analysis,several tests and methods,including Augmented Dickey–Fuller unit root test,Zivot–Andrews unit root test,asymmetric cointegration bound testing approach,non-linear ARDL,Wald-test,Granger causality test and wavelet quantile correlation(WQC)method are utilized.Furthermore,NARDL technique estimates reveal that contractionary commercial policy enhances the environmental quality by disrupting the detrimental effects of CCO2e.However,expansionary commercial policy escalates the environmental pollution by boosting the carbon emissions.Also,the exports and the renewable energy improve the ecological quality;however,GDP deteriorates the atmospheric quality by increasing the CCO2e.Besides,WQC method and the trivariate Granger causality test are deployed to confirm the robustness of the results.Based on the findings,some crucial policies are also recommended for sustainable and green development in Pakistan. 展开更多

Effects of carcass weight, sex and breed composition on meat cuts and carcass trait in finishing pigs

Pork cutting is a very important processing in promoting economic appreciation across the swine business chain. The goal of this research is to determine the proportion and weight of meat cuts, as well as to analyze the effects of carcass weight, sex and breed composition on meat cuts. Simultaneously, we investigate the correlation between meat cuts, carcass traits and meat quality traits. To assess 17 meat cut traits, 12 carcass traits and 6 meat quality traits, we sample 2 012 pigs from four breeds, including Landrace(LD), Yorkshire(YK), Landrace Yorkshire(LY), and Duroc Landrace Yorkshire(DLY). The results showed that carcass weight, sex and breed composition have significant effects on the weight and proportion of most meat cuts. The proportion of cuts for muscle and bone decrease as carcass weight grows, whereas the proportion of cuts for fat increases. Moreover, the thickness of four-point backfat was significantly increasing(P<0.001) with increase of carcass weights, indicating that large amount of intaking energy in the late finishing stage was used for fat deposition. Besides, the proportion of Shoulder cut(SC) and Back fat(BF) in barrows was significantly higher(P<0.001) than that in sows, whereas the Leg cut(LC) showed the opposite trend. The Loin(LO) proportion and Loin muscle area(LMA) of barrows were significantly lower(P<0.001), but the proportion of fat areas in the image(PFAI) and visual marbling score(VMS) were significantly higher(P<0.001) than those of sows, respectively. In terms of breeds, LD had the longest straight carcass length, significantly longer(P<0.001) than the other three breeds, which partially explains why LD had the largest proportion of the Middle cut(MC). Moreover, the proportion of SC in DLY was the highest. Last but not least, the correlations between the proportions of most meat cuts, and also between meat cuts and meat quality or carcass traits were low or not significant(P>0.05). The effects of carcass weight, sex and breed composition on the meat cuts, meat quality and carcass traits are breed and growth stage dependent. It also reflects the asynchrony of the growth curve between different sexes. Our results laid an important foundation for breeding pig carcass cuts and composition. 展开更多

Anatase TiO_(2) is a promising anode material for sodium-ion batteries,yet the low electronic and ionic conductivities are the main obstacles for its practical application.Even though the amorphization of TiO_(2) upon sodiation has already been observed,its underneath mechanisms are not fully elucidated.Herein,a low-cost nitrogen-containing carbon source of polyacrylonitrile is adopted to modify commercial anatase TiO_(2) by a convenient and nontoxic ball-milling technique combined with subsequent annealing treatment.In particular,the employment of a nitrogen-doping approach accompanied by nitrogendoped carbon coating,results in a greatly improved conductivity,overall leading to a high reversible capacity of about 260 m A h g^(-1)at 25 m A g^(-1),superior rate capabilities,and an ultra-stable capacity of about 186 m A h g^(-1)after 1600 cycles at 500 m A g^(-1).Detailed characterizations denote that the improved conductivity as well as the small size of the synthesized TiO_(2) grains play a key role in the TiO_(2) amorphization upon sodiation,with the TiO_(2)/C nanocomposite undergoing a complete amorphization in just few cycles.Finally,the irreversible amorphization of TiO_(2) is confirmed to be a crucial ingredient facilitating the Na+diffusion kinetics and pseudocapacitive behavior,thus boosting the sodium storage performance. 展开更多

A homogenous microstructure of ultrafine-grained (UFG) commercially pure (CP) Ti characterized by equiaxed grains/subgrains with an average grain size of about 150 nm and strong prismatic fiber texture were obtained after 4 passes of equal channel angular pressing (ECAP).Tension–compression asymmetry in yield and work hardening behavior of UFG CP Ti were investigated by uniaxial tension and compression tests.The experimental results reveal that UFG CP Ti exhibits a relatively obvious tensioncompression asymmetry in yielding and work hardening behavior.The basal and prismaticslip are suppressed either for tension or compression,which is the easiest to activate.The tension twin system{1012}<1011> easily activated in compression deformation due to the prismatic fiber texture based on the Schmidt factor,consequently resulting in a lower yield strength under compression than tension.ECAP can improve the tension-compression asymmetry of CP Ti due to grain refinement.The interaction among the dislocations,grain boundaries and deformation twins are the main work hardening mechanisms for compression deformation,while the interaction between the dislocations and grain boundaries for tension deformation.Deformation twins lead to the higher work hardening under compression than tension. 展开更多

Four different states of fixed mass, variable mass, fixed slope and variableslope were set to simulate real-time working conditions, respectively. A comprehensive electric commercial vehicleshifting strategy was formulated according to the identification results. The co-simulation results showed that,compared with the recursive least square (RLS) algorithm, the proposed algorithm could identify the real-timevehicle mass and road gradient quickly and accurately. The comprehensive shifting strategy formulated had thefollowing advantages, e.g., avoiding frequent shifting of vehicles up the hill, making full use ofmotor braking downthe hill, and improving the overall performance of vehicles. 展开更多

The reduction of fuel consumption in engines is always considered of vital importance.Along these lines,in this work,this goal was attained by optimizing the heavy-duty commercial vehicle engine control strategy.More specifically,at first,a general first principles model for heavy-duty commercial vehicles and a transient fuel consumptionmodel for heavy-duty commercial vehicles were developed and the parameters were adjusted to fit the empirical data.The accuracy of the proposed modelwas demonstrated fromthe stage and the final results.Next,the control optimization problem resulting in low fuel consumption in heavy commercial vehicles was described,with minimal fuel usage as the optimization goal and throttle opening as the control variable.Then,a time-continuous engine management approach was assessed.Next,the factors that influence low fuel consumption in heavy-duty commercial vehicles were systematically examined.To reduce the computing complexity,the control strategies related to the time constraints of the engine were parametrized using three different methods.The most effective solution was obtained by applying a global optimization strategy because the constrained optimization problem was nonlinear.Finally,the effectiveness of the low-fuel consumption engine control strategy was demonstrated by comparing the simulated and field test results. 展开更多

Valuing options to renew at future market value:the case of commercial property leases

In this study,we develop and empirically test a valuation model for a commonly encountered option in office leases:a tenant’s option to renew at future market rent(a fair market value)with lease termination as the maturity date.The model integrates decision analysis with real options analysis and market risk with private risks.“Option value”is defined as the private value of the option to either party pre-contract,while“option price”assumes a fair agreement between transacting parties and can be positive(rental premium paid)or negative(rental discount offered).Without manifest expectations,an analysis of a sample of office leases supports the model’s logic with price estimates in a practical range.The tenants’option price/value is shown to have a negative relationship with the original/renewal lease term;conversely,the landlords’option value is positively related to the original/renewal term.Comparative analyses show that transaction costs have a positive effect on tenants’option value and on prices,while vacancy costs and the vacancy period are both positively related to the landlords’option value and negatively related to price.Market rent is found to have a negative relationship with option price.Overall,this study provides a theoretical analysis and empirical tests of the value of a real option that allows option holders to renew/extend their contracts at a fair market value. 展开更多

[Objectives]This study was conducted to select vegetable soybean varieties(Glycine max(L.)Merr.)that are suitable for local cultivation and meet export requirements.[Methods]Through continuous years of comparative experiments on broccoli and vegetable soybean varieties,detailed biological characteristic and economic quality data of multiple varieties were obtained.[Results]Vegetable soybean variety Taiwan 75-3 had very prominent early-maturing trait,the highest quality(qualification rate),and higher yield than the control check(CK);and the early-maturing trait of vegetable soybean variety Kaohsiung 9 was also prominent,and its yield was higher than that of the CK.They could be promoted as the main vegetable soybean varieties for spring open field cultivation in this region.Among the tested broccoli varieties,Lake had a higher yield,and was relatively tolerant to cold.It had an early harvest period,and was planted as an early autumn variety in this region.Naihan Youxiu showed the highest yield,good quality,cold resistance,and strong adaptability,making it suitable for planting as a late autumn variety in this region.[Conclusions]This study provides technical guidance for the cultivation of local broccoli and vegetable soybean. 展开更多

Many examples of ingestion of microplastic by marine organisms have been reported. This presence of microplastic in marine organisms gives it the possibility to penetrate the human food chain by increasing the chance of microplastic in seafood targeted for human consumption. Although it is known that parts of the Indian Ocean suffer from significant plastic pollution, much of the systematic research on the microplastic abundance in different regions of the Indian Ocean stems only from the last five years. This manuscript reviews the available literature of 2015-2022 on the presence of microplastics in commercially important fish species in the Indian Ocean. The literature data on microplastic content on beaches, in subtidal sediment, in the sediment from the ocean floor, and in surface water of different regions of the Indian Ocean is reviewed, also. 展开更多
