The launch of European technical committee on carbon capture, utilization and storage

The Dutch Standardization Institute(NEN) has initiated the establishment of a European technical committee(CEN/TC 474) that will develop European Standards across the CCUS(carbon capture, utilization and storage) value chain. With broad participation from CEN Members and European organizations, the committee kicked off in Brussels and finalized its scope and first work programme.

Election Procedure for Rural Two Committees

In order to further strengthen the construction and improvement of villager autonomy system with democratic election,democratic decision making,democratic management,and democratic supervision of rural two committees with Chinese characteristics,experience of work team of Longyang District Agricultural Technology Extension Station dispatched to villager committees( or offices) and their guidance on election of rural two committees in 2007-2016 were used,and exploration was made for election of rural two committees from the third to the sixth committees. It summarized achievements and main problems in election of rural two committees and came up with pertinent recommendations.The results of this study are expected to provide certain reference for theory and practice of future villager autonomy.

Compensation Committee Quality and the Relationship between CEO Cash Compensation and Accounting Performance—Evidence From Taiwan

This paper examines the effect of compensation committee quality on the relationship between Chief Executive Officer(CEO)cash compensation and accounting earnings by using a sample of 1,247 publicly-traded Taiwan firms from 2009 to 2011.This paper finds that executive cash compensation is more positively associated with accounting earnings when firms have high compensation committee quality.Compensation committee quality is constructed by a multidimensional measure of compensation committee quality choosing from nine potential,individual measures of compensation committee quality.The results show that executive cash compensation is more positively associated with accounting earnings when firms with scholar directors,a higher proportion of senior directors,a higher proportion of directors who are CEOs of other firms sitting on their compensation committee,and a higher proportion of directors,appointed during the tenure of the incumbent CEO sitting on compensation committees.Findings in this paper imply that shareholders and directors should be concerned about the composition of compensation committees as this paper finds that compensation committee quality varies depending on individual director profession and other characteristics of the committee members.

Characteristics of Audit Committee and Effectiveness of Its Internal Control

The Audit Committee is a very important part in the enterprise, its main role is on behalf of the Board of Directors to review, monitor and evaluate the cotnpany＇ s internal control. Playing the role of the audit committee can help prevent the economic crisis because of poor management, prevent the phenomenon of corporate embezzlement and accounting fraud. It is an important role in internal control. The thesis begins with an introduction to the Audit Committee, and analyzes the characteristics of Audit Committee and effectiveness of internal controls.

Multiple Model Soft Sensor Based on Affinity Propagation, Gaussian Process and Bayesian Committee Machine

Presented is a multiple model soft sensing method based on Affinity Propagation （AP）, Gaussian process （GP） and Bayesian committee machine （BCM）. AP clustering arithmetic is used to cluster training samples according to their operating points. Then, the sub-models are estimated by Gaussian Process Regression （GPR）. Finally, in order to get a global probabilistic prediction, Bayesian committee mactnne is used to combine the outputs of the sub-estimators. The proposed method has been applied to predict the light naphtha end point in hydrocracker fractionators. Practical applications indicate that it is useful for the online prediction of quality monitoring in chemical processes.

Reliable transmission of consultative committee for space data systems file delivery protocol in deep space communication

In consultative committee for space data systems（CCSDS） file delivery protocol（CFDP） recommendation of reliable transmission,there are no detail transmission procedure and delay calculation of prompted negative acknowledge and asynchronous negative acknowledge models.CFDP is designed to provide data and storage management,story and forward,custody transfer and reliable end-to-end delivery over deep space characterized by huge latency,intermittent link,asymmetric bandwidth and big bit error rate（BER）.Four reliable transmission models are analyzed and an expected file-delivery time is calculated with different trans-mission rates,numbers and sizes of packet data units,BERs and frequencies of external events,etc.By comparison of four CFDP models,the requirement of BER for typical missions in deep space is obtained and rules of choosing CFDP models under different uplink state informations are given,which provides references for protocol models selection,utilization and modification.

Outcomes and prognostic factors of patients with stage? ⅠB and? ⅡA pancreatic cancer according to the 8^(th) edition American Joint Committee on Cancer criteria

AIM To evaluate the changes in the 8^(th) edition American Joint Committee on Cancer(AJCC) for defining stage?ⅠB and?ⅡA pancreatic cancer and identify their prognostic factors.METHODS Pancreatic cancer patients were selected from the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results database(1973-2013). The enrolled patients were divided into?ⅠB and?ⅡA groups based on tumor size according to the 8^(th) edition AJCC criteria. Clinical characteristics, including age, gender, race, tumor size, primary site, and grade were summarized. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to explore the prognostic factors of the?ⅠB and?ⅡA stages of pancreatic cancer under new criteria.RESULTS A total of 1349 pancreatic cancer patients were included. More patients had stage?ⅠB rather than stage?ⅡA. Stage?ⅠB tumors(54.85%) were mainly located in the head of the pancreas, while stage?ⅡA tumors were more often located in the tail and head of the pancreas(35.21% and 31.75%, respectively). The survival time of stage?ⅠB and?ⅡA patients had no significant difference. Univariate and multivariate analyses indicated that the prognostic factors of survival for stage?ⅠB and?ⅡA patients were different. for stage?ⅠB patients, age and primary site were the independent prognostic factors; for stage?ⅡA patients, age and grade were the independent prognostic factors. The risk of death was lower among patients aged ≤ 65 years than those aged > 65 years.CONCLUSION The prognostic factors for stage?ⅠB and?ⅡA patients are different, but age is the independent prognostic factor for all patients. The survival time of stage?ⅠB and?ⅡA patients has no significant difference.

Analysis on the Offside and Vacancy in the Administration of the Village Party Branch and the Villagers′ Committee in Sichuan Province——Based on Villagers′ Autonomy

In the paper, the researches on the administration scope, the leadership style of the village party branch, the core status of village party branch and the autonomy of villagers′ committee are expounded. On the basis of the empirical investigation of countryside in Sichuan Province, the offside and vacancy of the administration of the "two committees in village" in the villagers′ autonomy are studied tentatively. The results show that the offside and vacancy of the "two committees in village" can be divided into three types, covering the village party branch-dominated, the villagers′ committee-dominated type and the antagonism of the two village committees. The reasons for the offside and vacancy of administration of the "two committees in village" are analyzed, including the fragility of the two committees of the village; the imbalanced power sources of the two committees of the village; the imbalance of the competition for interests of the two committees and the negative effects of traditional politics and culture. The countermeasures are put forward, for example, reinforcing the system construction of rural grassroots organizations; expanding the democratic election modes such as "two-vote system " and "selecting one from the two recommended"; establishing the coordinative and supervisory mechanisms between the two committees in the village and introducing into college-graduate village officials to improve the quality of rural cadres.

Validation of American Joint Committee on Cancer 8th edition of TNM staging in resected distal pancreatic cancer

BACKGROUND In order to improve risk stratification and clinical management of the pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC),the American Joint Committee on Cancer(AJCC)has published its eighth edition staging manual.Some major changes have been introduced in the new staging system for both T and N categories.Given the rarity of resectable disease,distal pancreatic cancer is likely underrepresented in the published clinical studies,and how the impact of the staging system actually reflects on to clinical outcomes remain unclear.AIM To validate the AJCC 8th edition of TNM staging in distal PDAC.METHODS A retrospective cohort study was performed in seven academic medical centers in the United States.Clinicopathological prognostic factors associated with progression-free survival(PFS)and overall survival(OS)were evaluated through univariate and multivariate analyses.RESULTS Overall,454 patients were enrolled in the study,and were divided into 2 subgroups:Invasive intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms(IPMN)(115 cases)and non-IPMN associated adenocarcinoma(339 cases).Compared to invasive IPMN,non-IPMN associated adenocarcinomas are more common in relatively younger patients,have larger tumor size,are more likely to have positive lymph nodes,and are associated with a higher tumor(T)stage and nodal(N)stage,lymphovascular invasion,perineural invasion,tumor recurrence,and a worse PFS and OS.The cohort was predominantly categorized as stage 3 per AJCC 7th edition staging manual,and it’s more evenly distributed based on 8th edition staging manual.T and N staging of both 7th and 8th edition sufficiently stratify PFS and OS in the entire cohort,although dividing into N1 and N2 according to the 8th edition does not show additional stratification.For PDAC arising in IPMN,T staging of the 7th edition and N1/N2 staging of the 8th edition appear to further stratify PFS and OS.For PDAC without an IPMN component,T staging from both versions fails to stratify PFS and OS.CONCLUSION The AJCC 8th edition TNM staging system provides even distribution for the T staging,however,it does not provide better risk stratification than previous staging system for distal pancreatic cancer.
