The thickness correction calculation f...Research works on width compensation and correction were carried out in order to eliminate the effects of the PVPC ( plan view pattern control) on width accuracy of plate mill. The thickness correction calculation formula was derived for compensation the width deviation caused by PVPC function, and the formula is unified under the thinning and thickening conditions. In order to improve the width calculation accuracy, width spread calculation process was modified with dividing one large reduction pass to several small reduction calculation steps. The thickness wedge was simplified to rectangle based on the volume constant principle, and the width spread model for PVPC was constructed. The width compensation and correction for the PVPC functions are used for the online control process, and the Product dimension accuracy is improved. With the decrease of Crop losses, the Droduct yield was increased with 0. 2%.展开更多
In order to solve the linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) displacement sensor nonlinearity of overall range and extend its working range, a novel line-element based adaptively seg- menting method for pie...In order to solve the linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) displacement sensor nonlinearity of overall range and extend its working range, a novel line-element based adaptively seg- menting method for piecewise compensating correction was proposed. According to the mechanical structure of LVDT, the output equation was calculated, and then the theoretic nonlinear source of output was analyzed. By the proposed line-element adaptive segmentation method, the nonlinear output of LVDT was divided into linear and nonlinear regions with a given threshold. Then the com- pensating correction function was designed for nonlinear parts employing polynomial regression tech- nique. The simulation of LVDT validates the feasibility of proposed scheme, and the results of cali- bration and testing experiments fully prove that the proposed method has higher accuracy than the state-of-art correction algorithms.展开更多

The MMR directly measures the high-frequency shear of velocity fl uctuations, with which we can estimate the dissipation rate of turbulent kinetic energy. We summarize and discuss methods for estimating the turbulent kinetic energy dissipation rate. Instrument body vibrations contaminate the shear signal in an ocean fi eld experiment, and a compensating correction successfully removes this contamination. In both tank test and ocean fi eld experiment, the dissipation rate measured with the MMR agreed well with that measured using other instruments.展开更多

Using the proposed approximation, the complex functions In(.) and exp(.) in the Exact-log-MAP algorithm can be estimated with high accuracy and lower computational complexity. We experimentally demonstrate a 750 Mb/s real-time visible light communication(VLC) system based on non-return-to-zero on–off keying modulation by employing single commercially available monochromatic lightemitting...We experimentally demonstrate a 750 Mb/s real-time visible light communication(VLC) system based on non-return-to-zero on–off keying modulation by employing single commercially available monochromatic lightemitting diodes. To enhance the 3-d B bandwidth of the VLC link, we propose a low-complexity cascaded post-equalizer based on NPN transistors. With two different frequency-selecting networks in our post-equalizer,the highest achieved 3-d B bandwidth of the VLC link is 370 MHz. The highest achieved data rate is 750 Mb/s at a communication distance of 170 cm with a bit error rate below 1 × 10^(-6), which is far below the forward error correction limit(3.8 × 10^(-3)). Based on our monochromatic VLC system, a wavelength-division multiplexing VLC system could be designed with a higher data rate.展开更多
