The morphodynamic evolution of an idealized inlet system is investigated using a 2-D depthaveraged process-based model,incorporating the hydrodynamic equations,Englund-Hansen’s sediment transport formula and the mass conservation equation.The model has a fixed geometry,impermeable boundaries and uniform sediment grain size,and driven by shore-parallel tidal elevations.The results show that the model reproduces major elements of the inlet system,i.e.,flood and ebb tidal deltas,inlet channel.Equilibrium is reached after several years when the residual transport gradually decreases and eventually diminishes.At equilibrium,the flow field characteristics and morphological patterns agree with the schematized models proposed by O’Brien (1969) and Hayes (1980).The modeled minimum cross-sectional entrance area of the tidal inlet system is comparable with that calculated with the statistical P-A relationship for tidal inlets along the East China Sea coast.The morphological evolution of the inlet system is controlled by a negative feedback between hydrodynamics,sediment transport and bathymetric changes.The evolution rates decrease exponentially with time,i.e.,the system develops rapidly at an early stage while it slows down at later stages.Temporal changes in hydrodynamics occur in the system;for example,the flood velocity decreases while its duration increases,which weakens the flood domination patterns.The formation of the multi-channel system in the tidal basin can be divided into two stages;at the first stage the flood delta is formed and the water depth is reduced,and at the second stage the flood is dissected by a number of tidal channels in which the water depth increases in response to tidal scour. 展开更多

Aggregation is used to represent the real world in a model at an appropriate level of abstraction.We used the convection-diffusion equation to examine the implications of aggregation progressing from a three-dimensional(3D)spatial description to a model representing a system as a single box that exchanges sediment with the adjacent environment.We highlight how all models depend on some forms of parametric closure,which need to be chosen to suit the scale of aggregation adopted in the model.All such models are therefore aggregated and make use of some empirical relationships to deal with sub-scale processes.One such appropriately aggregated model,the model for the aggregated scale morphological interaction between tidal basin and adjacent coast(ASMITA),is examined in more detail and used to illustrate the insight that this level of aggregation can bring to a problem by considering how tidal inlets and estuaries are impacted by sea level rise. 展开更多

Turbulence is a phenomenon which presents peculiarities when it is experimented or simulated.This occurs due to its complexity and high sensibility to the inlet conditions of the turbulent flow fields,as well as the presence of a large range of time and length scales.A simplification for this situation is obtained with the use of approximations and turbulence models.In the present work,the Largeeddy Simulations methodology was applied,aiming the modeling of the previously mentioned complexity,which consists in using a filter to resolve the large scales while the remaining scales were determined by classical and dynamic Smagorinsky models.Three different approximations for the inlet conditions were applied:white noise,Random Flow Generation(RFG)and Synthetic Eddy Method(SEM).It was possible to realize that the use of the dynamic Smagorinky model and the RFG or SEM methodologies resulted in a better characterization of the studied flow. 展开更多

Estuarine processes in the arctic lagoons are among the least studied but important subjects, especially considering the rapid warming of arctic water which may change the length of ice-free period in the summer. In this paper, wind-driven exchange flows in the micro-tidal Elson Lagoon of northern Alaska with multiple inlets of contrasting widths and depths are studied with in situ observations, statistical analysis, numerical experiments, a regression model on the basis of dynamics, and remote sensing data. Water velocity profiles were obtained from a bottom deployed acoustic Doppler current profiler(ADCP) in the northwestern Eluitkak Pass connecting the Beaufort Sea to the Elson Lagoon during a 4.9 day ice-free period in the summer of 2013. The subtidal flow is found correlated with wind(R^2 value ~96%). Frequently occurring east, northeast and north winds from the arctic atmospheric high-and low-pressure systems push water from the Beaufort Sea into the lagoon through the wide inlets on the eastern side of the lagoon, resulting in an outward flow against the wind at the narrow northwestern inlet. The counter-wind flow is a result of an uneven wind forcing acting through the asymmetric inlets and depth,an effect of "torque" or vorticity. Under northwest wind, the exchange flow at the northwestern inlet reverses its direction, with inward flows through the upwind northwestern inlet and outward flows through the downwind eastern inlets. A regression model is established based on the momentum equations and Taylor series expansions. The model is used to predict flows in July and August of 2015 and July of 2017, supported by available Landsat satellite images. About 73%–80% of the time the flows at Eluitkak Pass are out of Elson Lagoon for the summer of 2015 and 2017. Numerical experiments are conducted to corroborate the findings and illustrate the effects under various wind conditions. A quasi-steady state balance between wind force and surface pressure gradient is confirmed. 展开更多

In this paper,a model reference adaptive control(MRAC)augmentation method of a linear controller is proposed for air-breathing hypersonic vehicle(AHV)during inlet unstart.With the development of hypersonic flight technology,hypersonic vehicles have been gradually moving to the stage of weaponization.During the maneuvers,changes of attitude,Mach number and the back pressure can cause the inlet unstart phenomenon of scramjet.Inlet unstart causes significant changes in the aerodynamics of AHV,which may lead to deterioration of the tracking performance or instability of the control system.Therefore,we firstly establish the model of hypersonic vehicle considering inlet unstart,in which the changes of aerodynamics caused by inlet unstart is described as nonlinear uncertainty.Then,an MRAC augmentation method of a linear controller is proposed and the radial basis function(RBF)neural network is used to schedule the adaptive parameters of MRAC.Furthermore,the Lyapunov function is constructed to prove the stability of the proposed method.Finally,numerical simulations show that compared with the linear control method,the proposed method can stabilize the attitude of the hypersonic vehicle more quickly after the inlet unstart,which provides favorable conditions for inlet restart,thus verifying the effectiveness of the augmentation method proposed in the paper. 展开更多

Developing a Process Driven Morphological Model for Long Term Evolution of a Dynamic Coastal Embayment

Numerical modelling of coastal morphology is a complex and sometimes unrewarding exercise and often not yielding tangible results. Typically, the underlying drivers of morphology are not properly accounted for in numerical models. Such inaccuracies combined with a paucity of validation data create a difficulty for coastal planners/engineers who are required to interpret such morphological models to develop coastal management strategies. This study develops an approach to long term morphological modelling of a barrier beach system that includes the findings of over 10 years of coastal monitoring on a dynamic coastal system. The novel approach to predicting the long term evolution of the area combines a mix of short term hydrodynamic monitoring and long term morphological modelling to predict future changes in a breached barrier system. A coupled wave, wind, hydrodynamic and sediment transport numerical model was used to predict the coastal evolution in the dynamic barrier beach system of Inner Dingle Bay, Co. Kerry, Ireland. The modelling approach utilizes the schematisation of inputs to reflect observed trends. The approach is subject to two stages of validation both quantitative and qualitative. The study highlights the importance of considering all the parameters responsible for driving coastal evolution and the necessity to have long term monitoring results for trend based validation. 展开更多

Influence of Tidal Inlets on Tsunami Waves in the Atlantic (Charente Region, France)

The French Atlantic coast seismicity is minor to moderate. Nevertheless, in western (north and central) part of France, the active tectonics related to the south Armorican and the Bay of Biscay context results sometimes in shallow earthquakes with magnitude above five (e.g., the Oleron seismic crisis, magnitude (local) = 5.2, 1972). The Charente region is featured by semi-diurnal tides that reach about six meters in height during the high tide period. Inlets are the main features of the Atlantic margin geomorphology nearby the Charente. Minor tsunamis have been observed and reported in the past. Here, we present a tsunami modelling computed with the TELEMAC package that solves the non linear shallow water equations. This work helps to identify the role of the inlets that characterize the Charente's geomorphology on water wave's propagation. A tidal model is considered while the tsunami simulation is performed. The modelling results show that the Antioche, the Maumusson and the Pertuis inlets protect the Charente coast from destructive waves. 展开更多

以微压过滤冲洗池的水头损失与过滤效率为考核指标,考虑进水流量、矿化度、含沙量与滤网孔径4个因素进行正交试验设计,采用投影寻踪回归方法PPR分析各个因素对考核指标的影响权重,选取20组试验数据建立含沙微咸水条件下微压过滤冲洗池... 以微压过滤冲洗池的水头损失与过滤效率为考核指标,考虑进水流量、矿化度、含沙量与滤网孔径4个因素进行正交试验设计,采用投影寻踪回归方法PPR分析各个因素对考核指标的影响权重,选取20组试验数据建立含沙微咸水条件下微压过滤冲洗池水头损失和过滤效率的预测模型,探究了含沙微咸水对微压过滤冲洗池的水头损失和过滤效率的影响。研究结果表明,影响微压过滤冲洗池水头损失的因素由大到小依次为进水流量、含沙量、矿化度、滤网孔径;影响过滤效率的因素由大到小依次为含沙量、进水流量、矿化度、滤网孔径;构建的PPR预测模型的预测精度整体合格率达100%;当进水流量为6~7 m^(3)/h、含沙量为0.5~1.0 g/L、矿化度为0~2.0 g/L及滤网孔径为0.125~0.180 mm时,水头损失存在最小值;当进水流量为9~10 m^(3)/h、含沙量为1.75~2.00 g/L、矿化度为0~3.0 g/L及滤网孔径为0.125~0.150 mm时,过滤效率存在最大值。物理模型的试验结果可为微压过滤冲洗池的实际应用提供研究基础。 展开更多

基于国产化工过程模拟软件,开发了针对具有多流股中间级进出料的等熵多级压缩机单元模块。首先建立了多级串联等熵压缩和中间换热的数学模型以及求解步骤,然后利用面向对象的C++语言和COM组件技术开发了等熵多级压缩机模块,最后采用轻... 基于国产化工过程模拟软件,开发了针对具有多流股中间级进出料的等熵多级压缩机单元模块。首先建立了多级串联等熵压缩和中间换热的数学模型以及求解步骤,然后利用面向对象的C++语言和COM组件技术开发了等熵多级压缩机模块,最后采用轻烃压缩、催化裂化装置的富气压缩等工段的实际数据校验模块计算准确性。结果表明,压缩机功率与冷凝器热负荷平均相对偏差分别为0.80%和0.39%,压缩机出口物流组成平均相对偏差分别为0.77%和0.73%,压缩机出口物流流量与密度平均相对偏差分别为0.15%和0.46%。实际案例验证表明,模拟结果与工业实际值吻合良好,说明等熵多级压缩机模块稳定可靠,对化工流程中气体压缩过程的模拟计算具有重要的指导作用。 展开更多

为提高计算机控制光学表面(CCOS)成形技术的确定性加工能力,提出了一种中心供液弹性研抛工具(CEPT)。针对CEPT的结构特征及与工件接触的应力场模型,研究了贴附金刚石树脂砂纸前后CEPT的径向接触应力分布,发现贴附砂纸后的CEPT有更平稳... 为提高计算机控制光学表面(CCOS)成形技术的确定性加工能力,提出了一种中心供液弹性研抛工具(CEPT)。针对CEPT的结构特征及与工件接触的应力场模型,研究了贴附金刚石树脂砂纸前后CEPT的径向接触应力分布,发现贴附砂纸后的CEPT有更平稳的径向接触应力分布和更大的接触应力幅值。构建了CEPT连续进给状态下的接触应力及速度分布函数,结合Preston方程建立了CEPT的材料去除模型。进行了抛光试验及单因素对比试验,获得了CEPT的材料去除深度分布规律及关键工艺参数与材料去除深度之间的影响关系。试验结果表明,构建的材料去除模型与实际材料去除廓形之间的平均偏差小于10%,可较好地预测CEPT的实际材料去除深度。 展开更多

核电厂海水循环泵肘形进水流道优化设计

Nowadays,there has been an increasing focus on integrated flight propulsion control and the inlet-exhaust design for the aero-propulsion system.Traditional component-level models are inadequate due to installed performance deviations and mismatches between the real engine and the model,failing to meet the accuracy requirements of supersonic conditions.This paper establishes a quasi-one-dimensional model for the inlet-exhaust system and conducts experimental calibration.Additionally,a mechanism-data fusion adaptive modeling scheme using an Extreme Learning Machine based on the Salp Swarm Algorithm(SSA-ELM)is proposed.The study reveals the inlet model’s efficacy in reflecting installed performance,flow matching,and mitigating pressure distortion,while the nozzle model accurately predicts flow coefficients and thrust coefficients,and identifies various operational states.The model’s output closely aligns with typical experimental parameters.By combining offline optimization and online adaptive correction,the mechanismdata fusion adaptive model substantially reduces output errors during regular flights and varying levels of degradation,and effectively handles gradual degradation within a single flight cycle.Notably,the mechanism-data fusion adaptive model holistically addresses total pressure errors within the inlet-exhaust system and normal shock location correction.This approach significantly curbs performance deviations in supersonic conditions.For example,at Ma=2.0,the system error impressively drops from 34.17%to merely 6.54%,while errors for other flight conditions consistently stay below the 2.95%threshold.These findings underscore the clear superiority of the proposed method. 展开更多

溃堤洪水在有压雨水管网街区演进的试验研究

溃堤洪水在有压雨水管网街区的演进过程十分复杂,城市街区建筑物及雨水管网改变了洪水的演进规律,影响了街区排涝的水力特性。本文基于典型城市街区建立了包括房屋、人行道及雨水管网在内的概化水槽模型,测量了不同溃堤洪水在典型城市... 溃堤洪水在有压雨水管网街区的演进过程十分复杂,城市街区建筑物及雨水管网改变了洪水的演进规律,影响了街区排涝的水力特性。本文基于典型城市街区建立了包括房屋、人行道及雨水管网在内的概化水槽模型,测量了不同溃堤洪水在典型城市街区演进过程中的街区水深、雨水管网流量及压强,探究了不同蓄水高度、前池进口流量对街区水位波动变化及有压雨水管网下泄流量的影响。溃堤洪水在水槽侧壁、房屋的作用下形成了大面积的水跃,并且在房屋建筑物附近出现了薄层状水片,水跃区域伴随着洪水演进过程先是在人行道处发生横向的迁移合并,再是在街区道路的纵向方向上逐渐耗散直至消失,街区水位在100 s后基本稳定,从上游至下游呈“先增大、再减小”的变化趋势。溃堤洪水在街区演进过程中,不同蓄水高度对有压雨水管网的泄流量影响相较于不同前池进口流量更加显著,街区上游雨水口的峰值流量在最大蓄水高度条件约为最大前池进口流量的1.5倍。研究结合街区水位及有压雨水管网压强采用欧拉数对短管淹没出流公式的泄流系数进行了率定,修正后的理论计算值的误差由32%降低至2%,能够较好地反映出街区雨水口的泄流能力。研究成果不仅能为数学模型提供翔实的验证资料,还可为城市洪涝治理提供理论指导。 展开更多
