LiMn2O4/Li4Ti5O12 composite was synthesized by in-situ composite technique using LiMn2O4,lithium acetate,tetrabutyl titanate as starting materials and characterized by various electrochemical methods in combination with X-ray diffractometry(XRD), infrared(IR)spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The results show that Li4Ti5O12 is coated on the surface of crystalline LiMn2O4 to form LiMn2O4/Li4Ti5O12 composite.The structure of LiMn2O4 does not change due to the introduction of Li4Ti5O12.By being coated with Li4Ti5O12,the rate capability and high temperature cyclability of LiMn2O4 is improved greatly.At room temperature,the discharge capacity of LiMn2O4/Li4Ti5O12 composite is more than 108.4 mA·h/g and the capacity loss per cycle is only 0.053%after 20 cycles at 2.0C.While at 55℃,the discharge capacity of LiMn2O4/Li4Ti5O12 composite is more than 109.9 mA·h/g and the capacity loss per cycle is only 0.036%after 60 cycles at 1.0C. 展开更多

Composites were prepared with polysulfone through ex-situ toughening technique. The dynamic parameters of cyanate/epoxy resin were studied by differential scanning calorimetric(DSC) analysis and dynamic mechanical analysis(DMA). Microstructual toughening mechanism was studied through scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The particle microstructure in interlaminar region of composites toughened through ex-situ toughening technique revealed that a reaction induced phase decomposition and phase inversion happened in the interlaminar region. The thermosetting particles were surrounded by the PS phase, which could signifi cantly improve the delamination resistance of composites. The compression after impact(CAI) can be signifi cantly improved from 180 MPa to 260 MPa by using ex-situ toughening while the mechanical properties are not affected. 展开更多

The technique of X-ray fluorescence remote sensing plays a significant role in research related to the chemical compositions of the Moon. Here we describe the data analysis method for China's Chang'E-2 X-ray spectrometer in detail and present the preliminary results about the first global Mg/Si and Al/Si maps of the lunar surface. Our results show that the distributions of Mg/Si and Al/Si correlate well with terrains on the Moon. The higher Mg/Si ratio corresponds to the mare regions while the lower value corresponds to the highland terrains. The map of the Al/Si ratio shows a reversed distribution compared with the map of the Mg/Si ratio. 展开更多

The operation of blast furnace using natural gas and oxygen enriched blast (composite blast technology) is considered in many countries to be standard operation for a modern blast furnace particularly in certain countries with cheap and stable supply of natural gas. The theoretical flame temperature (TFT) of combustion and the degree of di-rect reduction of iron oxides (rd) are considered as the main controlling parameters of composite blast technology. The calculated values of these parameters are mainly dependent on the amount of air blast consumption. This amount of air blast is measured before entering into blast stoves, Actually, some of air blast is lost through valves of air stoves. Consequently, the real volume of air blast in the furnace is less than the recorded value by amounts of 5%-15% which is not considered in the estimation of rd and TFT. The purpose is to analyze the different methods for es-timation of air blast inside the blast furnaces and develop a theoretical model to calculate air blast eonsumption with high accuracy. Based on the calculation of air blast consumption, a complete roadmap is demonstrated to change the operation regime parameters of blast furnaces working on composite blast technology. 展开更多

For microcapsules to be effective in providing protection from harsh environments or delivering large payloads, it is essential to have a good understanding of their properties to enable quality control during formulation, storage, and applications. This review aims to outline the commonly used techniques for determining the physicochemical, struc- tural, and mechanical properties of microcapsules, and highlights the interlinked nature of these three areas with respect to the end-use industrial application. This review provides information on techniques that are well supported in the literature, and also examines microcapsule analytical techniques that will become more prevalent as a result of new technological developments or extensions from other areas of study. 展开更多

The room temperature brittleness has been a long standing problem in bulk metallic glasses realm.This has seriously limited the application potential of metallic glasses and their composites.The elastic deformation behaviors of metallic glass matrix composites are closely related to their plastic deformation states.The elastic deformation behaviors of Cu48-xZr48Al4Nbx(x=0,3at.%)metallic glass matrix composites(MGMCs)with different crystallization degrees were investigated using an in-situ digital image correlation(DIC)technique during tensile process.With decreasing crystallization degree,MGMC exhibits obvious elastic deformation ability and an increased tensile fracture strength.The notable tensile elasticity is attributed to the larger shear strain heterogeneity emerging on the surface of the sample.This finding has implications for the development of MGMCs with excellent tensile properties. 展开更多
