Reflection on the Construction of Tropical and South Subtropical Agricultural Experimental Station CATAS( Jiangmen)

This paper introduces the origin and progress of Tropical and South Subtropical Agricultural Comprehensive Experimental Station( hereinafter referred to as experimental station) CATAS( Jiangmen),formulates the thought for construction of experimental station,analyzes the restrictive factors and puts forward corresponding countermeasures in order to provide reference for the decision- making and implementation of constructing the experimental station.

Reflection on a Prevalent English Language Teaching Method in China and an Exploration of New Ones

Influenced by the incorrect English teaching method and the current test-driven education system,majority of English language learners in China have not only err from the right path in boosting language proficiency,but also lost their interest and confidence in acquiring English.Under such circumstances,this paper endeavors to quest for reasons and introduce new English teaching and acquisition methods based on the Comprehension Hypothesis.

A Brief Review on the Theoretic Researches of Schema Theory

In this paper,the relationship of L2 learners’background knowledge and their L2 comprehension is explored through a brief review of both theoretical and experimental research studies on Schema Theory.The results indicate that successful activation of prior knowledge significantly aids learners’reading and listening comprehension,whereas,failure to activate appropriate culture-specific schemata due to linguistic or cultural background knowledge deficiencies hinders them largely from perfecting their performance.
