Design of Landscape Entertainment Facilities from the Perspective of Children＇s Cognition

Starting from the stage characteristics of children's cognitive development, the types of performance related to cognitive function and the design points involved in outdoor landscape entertainment facilities were sorted out and analyzed, and the design strategies of landscape entertainment facilities based on cognitive function were put forward in this paper, so as to make public toys more appropriate to promote children's all-round development of cognitive ability.

Cognition-Based Interactive Phases and Strategies in Teaching Academic Reading

Academic English reading requires deeper cognitive involvement in addition to language proficiency and plays a vital role in moulding a critical mindset. However, cognitive progress is seldom targeted in classroom teaching. This study proposed a teaching method of three reading phases in terms of cognitive mechanism and communicative teaching approach.Ninety university freshmen of non-English major participated in the study, who were taking the course of Academic English Reading in the 2nd semester. The data were collected from self-report Research Skills Assessment twice and semi-structured interview, and analyzed with paired sample t test and Pearson correlation. The results showed that 1） “critical thinking”, “organizing ideas”, and “finding information” were believed to improve significantly at the end of the course; 2） reading skill was associated with writing skill and the sense of “big picture” in self perception; 3） the cognition-based interactive reading instruction was acknowledged to be conducive to academic reading. It complements Academic English reading pedagogy by juxtaposing the need for both individual cognition and group interaction in classroom teaching.

Guest Editorial New and Interdisciplinary Approaches to Language and Cognition

This Special Section on Language and Cognition of Journal of Electronic Science and Technology（JEST） presents a collective of state-of-theart interdisciplinary research on language and cognition. It features empirical and theoretical studies on cognitive approaches to language, using a variety of methodological approaches, from behavioral measures to neuroimaging. The topics discussed are varied,ranging from language comprehension and acquisition to the language-emotion interactions, reflecting marked broadening of the research agenda in this field. We invite yet more integrated research to move the field forward.

Research on the Cognitive Comprehension Logic and Its Application in Understanding of Metaphor

In this article,a novel logic which concerns with the natural property of comprehension is presented,and the cognitive state of the agent is also considered. The cognitive comprehension operator is put forward,the logical system is established,and then the axioms and the properties of the system are discussed. Finally,the application of the cognitive comprehension logic in the understanding of the metaphor is showed.

Information Comprehension Based on the New Knowledge Acquired by Cognitive Subject as the Fourth Dimension Set

On the basis of studying general comprehension model of information, this paper puts forward the Four Dimensions Set Information Comprehension Model （FDSICM） based on regarding the new knowledge acquired by cognitive subject as the fourth dimension set. Making use of the Four Dimension Set Information Comprehension Model （FDSICM）, this paper analyzes the information attributes and expatiates from three levels the comprehension of the information meaning.
