Stability analyses of perfect and imperfect cylindrical shells under axial compression and torsion were presented. Finite element method for the stability analysis of perfect cylindrical shells was put forward through comparing critical loads and the first buckling modes with those obtained through theoretical analysis. Two typical initial defects, non-circularity and uneven thickness distribution, were studied. Critical loads decline with the increase of non-circularity, which exist in imperfect cylindrical shells under both axial compression and torsion. Non-circularity defect has no effect on the first buckling mode when cylindrical shell is under torsion. Unfortunately, it has a completely different buckling mode when cylindrical shell is under axial compression. Critical loads decline with the increase of thickness defect amplitude, which exist in imperfect cylindrical shells under both axial compression and torsion, too. A greater wave number is conducive to the stability of cylindrical shells. The first buckling mode of imperfect cylindrical shells under torsion maintains its original shape, but it changes with wave number when the cylindrical shell is under axial compression. 展开更多

Gas cut and gas channeling happen seriously during oil and gas well cementing. The existing anti-migration additive has only effects on single trait, so it is difficult to meet cementing requirement. According to this situation we could use latex slurry to anti-gas channeling. We have synthesised a set of anti-gas channeling lightweight temperature-resistant latex slurry and formed a new channeling preventing latex slurry through plenty of previous laboratory experiments. Finally the performance of latex slurry on temperature-resistant, anti-gas channeling and the anti-gas channeling of cement paste are studied. The experimental results show that this latex system has strong temperature-resistant and anti-gas channeling, which completely meet the requirement of cementing in this area. 展开更多

This paper is concerned with the large-time behavior of solutions to an initial-boundary-value problem for full compressible Navier-Stokes equations on the half line(0,∞),which is named impermeable wall problem. It is shown that the 3-rarefaction wave is stable under partially large initial perturbation if the adiabatic exponent γ is close to 1.Here partially large initial perturbation means that the perturbation of absolute temperature is small, while the perturbations of specific volume and velocity can be large. The proof is given by the elementary energy method. 展开更多

A series of tests were carried out on sulfate rich, high-plasticity clay and poorly-graded natural sand to study the effectiveness of a methylene diphenyl diisocyanate based liquid polymer soil stabilizer in improving the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of freshly stabilized soils and aged sand specimens. The aged specimens were prepared by exposing the specimens to ultraviolet radiation, freeze-thaw, and wet-dry weathering. The polymer soil stabilizer also mitigated the swelling of the expansive clay. For clay, the observations indicated that the sequence of adding water and liquid polymer had great influence on the gained UGS of stabilized specimens. However, this was shown to be of little importance for sand. Furthermore, sand samples showed incremental gains in UCS when they were submerged in water. This increase was significant for up to 4 days of soaking in water after 4 days of ambient air curing. Conversely, the clay samples lost a large fraction of their UCS when soaked in water; however, their remaining strength was still considerable. The stabilized specimens showed acceptable endurance under weathering action, although sample yellowing due to ultraviolet radiation was evident on the surface of the specimens. Except for moisture susceptibility of the clay specimens, the results of this study suggested the liquid stabilizer could be successfully utilized to provide acceptable strength, durability and mitigated swelling. 展开更多

In the present paper, the efficiency of an enhanced formulation of the stabilized corrective smoothed particle method (CSPM) for simulation of shock wave propagation and reflection from fixed and moving solid boundaries in compressible fluids is investigated. The Lagrangian nature and its accuracy for imposing the boundary conditions are the two main reasons for adoption of CSPM. The governing equations are further modified for imposition of moving solid boundary conditions. In addition to the traditional artificial viscosity, which can remove numerically induced abnormal jumps in the field values, a velocity field smoothing technique is introduced as an efficient method for stabilizing the solution. The method has been implemented for one- and two-dimensional shock wave propagation and reflection from fixed and moving boundaries and the results have been compared with other available solutions. The method has also been adopted for simulation of shock wave propagation and reflection from infinite and finite solid boundaries. 展开更多
