In particular, positing the difference between voltages on two axons as the environment for ions undergoing spatial superposition, we argue that evolution in the presence of metric perturbations will differ from that in the absence of these waves. This differential state evolution will then encode the information being processed by the tract due to the interaction of the quantum state of the ions at the nodes with the “controlling’ potential. Upon decoherence, which is equal to a measurement, the final spatial state of the ions is decided and it also gets reset by the next impulse initiation time. Under synchronization, several tracts undergo such processes in synchrony and therefore the picture of a quantum computing circuit is complete. Under this model, based on the number of axons in the corpus callosum alone, we estimate that upwards of 50 million quantum states might be prepared and evolved every second in this white matter tract, far greater processing than any present quantum computer can accomplish.展开更多

The product development process depends on many module tests, sled tests and full size vehicle tests. Computer aided engineering(CAE) technology can replace tests to a great extent, also save test costs and product development time. This paper introduces the way of setting up simulation models and application of static deployment tests and free motion headform(FMH) tests to verify simulation models. In the CAB simulation, uniform pressure airbag models and computational fluid dynamics(CFD) models are all used. The uniform pressure airbag models are not able to simulate the pressure difference among different parts inside the cushion during inflating process. CFD-based CAB models are used to help the curtain airbag optimization design. Based on effective CAE simulation, the optimization analyses related to diffuser tube parameters, inflator mass flow rate and cushion folding patterns are discussed and performed in different cases. The optimization result shows that the proposed techniques are helpful to the parametric optimization design of side curtain airbag module in curtain airbag development process.展开更多

The study included 100 randomly selected SPNs with a definitive diagnosis. Nodule features at first and follow-up CT scans as well as clinical data were evaluated individually on a 1 to 5 points risk chart by 7 radiologists, firstly blinded then aware of Bayesian Inference Malignancy Calculator(BIMC) model predictions. Raters' predictions were evaluated by means of receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve analysis and decision analysis. Overall ROC area under the curve was 0.758 before and 0.803 after the disclosure of CAD predictions(P = 0.003). A net gain in diagnostic accuracy was found in 6 out of 7 readers. Mean risk class of benign nodules dropped from 2.48 to 2.29, while mean risk class of malignancies rose from 3.66 to 3.92. Awareness of CAD predictions also determined a significant drop on mean indeterminate SPNs(15 vs 23.86 SPNs) and raised the mean number of correct and confident diagnoses(mean 39.57 vs 25.71 SPNs). This study provides evidence supporting the integration of the Bayesian analysis-based BIMC model in SPN characterization.展开更多

Due to the superiority in modeling and computation, variational methods have been proven to be powerful techniques, which have been extremely popular and dramatically improved in the past two decades. On one hand, many models have been proposed for nearly all kinds of applications. On the other hand, a lot of models can be globally optimized and also many computation tools have been introduced. Under the variational framework, we focus on two basic problems in medical imaging: image restoration and segmentation, which are core components for kinds of specific tasks. For image restoration, we discuss some models on both additive and multiplicative noises. For image segmentation, we review some models on both whole image segmentation and specific target delineation, with the later being a key step in computer aided surgery. Additionally, we present some models on liver delineation and give their applications to living donor liver transplantation.展开更多

By using object-oriented methods, geometrical elements of CFGC are classified and responding geometrical feature classes are established. Each class is implemented and embedded based on the gem process. Matrix arithmetic and analytical geometry are used to derive the affine transformation and the cutting algorithm. Based on the demand for a diversity of gem cuts, CAD functions both for free-style faceted cuts and parametric designs of typical cuts and visualization and human-computer interactions of the CAD system including two-dimensional and three-dimensional interactions have been realized which enhances the flexibility and universality of the CAD system. 文摘Powered by advanced information technology, more and more complex systems are exhibiting characteristics of the cyber-physical-social systems(CPSS).In this context, computational experiments method has emerged as a novel approach for the design, analysis, management, control, and integration of CPSS,which can realize the causal analysis of complex systems by means of“algorithmization”of“counterfactuals”.However, because CPSS involve human and social factors(e.g.,autonomy,initiative,and sociality),it is difficult for traditional design of experiment(DOE)methods to achieve the generative explanation of system emergence. To address this challenge, this paper proposes an integrated approach to the design of computational experiments, incorporating three key modules:1)Descriptive module:Determining the influencing factors and response variables of the system by means of the modeling of an artificial society;2)Interpretative module:Selecting factorial experimental design solution to identify the relationship between influencing factors and macro phenomena;3)Predictive module:Building a meta-model that is equivalent to artificial society to explore its operating laws. Finally,a case study of crowd-sourcing platforms is presented to illustrate the application process and effectiveness of the proposed approach, which can reveal the social impact of algorithmic behavior on“rider race”.
文摘BACKGROUND There has been significant interest in use of computer aided detection(CADe)devices in colonoscopy to improve polyp detection and reduce miss rate.AIM To investigate the use of CADe amongst veterans.METHODS Between September 2020 and December 2021,we performed a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the impact of CADe.Patients at Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System presenting for screening or low-risk surveillance were randomized to colonoscopy performed with or without CADe.Primary outcomes of interest included adenoma detection rate(ADR),adenomas per colonoscopy(APC),and adenomas per extraction. In addition,we measured serrated polyps per colonoscopy,non-adenomatous,non-serrated polyps per colonoscopy, serrated polyp detection rate, and procedural time.RESULTS A total of 244 patients were enrolled(124 with CADe),with similar patient characteristics(age, sex, body mass index, indication)between the two groups.Use of CADe was found to have decreased number of adenomas(1.79 vs 2.53,P=0.030)per colonoscopy compared to without CADe.There was no significant difference in number of serrated polyps or non-adenomatous non-serrated polyps per colonoscopy between the two groups.Overall, use of CADe was found to have lower ADR(68.5%vs 80.0%,P=0.041)compared to without use of CADe.Serrated polyp detection rate was lower with CADe(3.2%vs 7.5%)compared to without CADe,but this was not statistically significant(P=0.137).There was no significant difference in withdrawal and procedure times between the two groups or in detection of adenomas per extraction(71.4%vs 73.1%,P=0.613).No adverse events were identified.CONCLUSION While several randomized controlled trials have demonstrated improved ADR and APC with use of CADe,in this RCT performed at a center with high ADR,use of CADe was found to have decreased APC and ADR.Further studies are needed to understand the true impact of CADe on performance quality among endoscopists as well as determine criteria for endoscopists to consider when choosing to adopt CADe in their practices.

文摘Model checking is an automated formal verification method to verify whether epistemic multi-agent systems adhere to property specifications.Although there is an extensive literature on qualitative properties such as safety and liveness, there is still a lack of quantitative and uncertain property verifications for these systems. In uncertain environments, agents must make judicious decisions based on subjective epistemic. To verify epistemic and measurable properties in multi-agent systems, this paper extends fuzzy computation tree logic by introducing epistemic modalities and proposing a new Fuzzy Computation Tree Logic of Knowledge(FCTLK).We represent fuzzy multi-agent systems as distributed knowledge bases with fuzzy epistemic interpreted systems. In addition,we provide a transformation algorithm from fuzzy epistemic interpreted systems to fuzzy Kripke structures,as well as transformation rules from FCTLK formulas to Fuzzy Computation Tree Logic(FCTL)formulas.Accordingly,we transform the FCTLK model checking problem into the FCTL model checking. This enables the verification of FCTLK formulas by using the fuzzy model checking algorithm of FCTL without additional computational overheads. Finally,we present correctness proofs and complexity analyses of the proposed algorithms.Additionally,we further illustrate the practical application of our approach through an example of a train control system.

文摘An extreme ultraviolet solar corona multispectral imager can allow direct observation of high temperature coronal plasma, which is related to solar flares, coronal mass ejections and other significant coronal activities. This manuscript proposes a novel end-to-end computational design method for an extreme ultraviolet(EUV)solar corona multispectral imager operating at wavelengths near 100 nm,including a stray light suppression design and computational image recovery. To suppress the strong stray light from the solar disk,an outer opto-mechanical structure is designed to protect the imaging component of the system.Considering the low reflectivity(less than 70%)and strong-scattering(roughness)of existing extreme ultraviolet optical elements, the imaging component comprises only a primary mirror and a curved grating.A Lyot aperture is used to further suppress any residual stray light. Finally,a deep learning computational imaging method is used to correct the individual multi-wavelength images from the original recorded multi-slit data.In results and data, this can achieve a far-field angular resolution below 7",and spectral resolution below 0.05 nm.The field of view is±3 R_(☉)along the multi-slit moving direction, where R☉represents the radius of the solar disk. The ratio of the corona's stray light intensity to the solar center's irradiation intensity is less than 10-6 at the circle of 1.3 R_(☉).

文摘The utilization of mobile edge computing(MEC)for unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)communication presents a viable solution for achieving high reliability and low latency communication. This study explores the potential of employing intelligent reflective surfaces(IRS)andUAVs as relay nodes to efficiently offload user computing tasks to theMEC server system model.Specifically, the user node accesses the primary user spectrum, while adhering to the constraint of satisfying the primary user peak interference power.Furthermore, the UAV acquires energy without interrupting the primary user’s regular communication by employing two energy harvesting schemes, namely time switching(TS)and power splitting(PS).The selection of the optimal UAV is based on the maximization of the instantaneous signal-to-noise ratio.Subsequently, the analytical expression for the outage probability of the system in Rayleigh channels is derived and analyzed. The study investigates the impact of various system parameters, including the number of UAVs,peak interference power,TS,and PS factors,on the system’s outage performance through simulation. The proposed system is also compared to two conventional benchmark schemes:the optimal UAV link transmission and the IRS link transmission. The simulation results validate the theoretical derivation and demonstrate the superiority of the proposed scheme over the benchmark schemes.
文摘In this paper, the authors extend [1] and provide more details of how the brain may act like a quantum computer. Under this model, based on the number of axons in the corpus callosum alone, we estimate that upwards of 50 million quantum states might be prepared and evolved every second in this white matter tract, far greater processing than any present quantum computer can accomplish.

文摘Compared with other kinds of airbags, curtain airbag(CAB) has more complex structures and larger coverage area. The optimization result shows that the proposed techniques are helpful to the parametric optimization design of side curtain airbag module in curtain airbag development process.
文摘The aim of this study was to prospectively assess the accuracy gain of Bayesian analysis-based computeraided diagnosis(CAD) vs human judgment alone in characterizing solitary pulmonary nodules(SPNs) at computed tomography(CT). This study provides evidence supporting the integration of the Bayesian analysis-based BIMC model in SPN characterization.

文摘In this paper, we review some mathematical models in medical image processing. Additionally, we present some models on liver delineation and give their applications to living donor liver transplantation.

文摘Aiming to increase the efficiency of gem design and manufacturing, a new method in computer-aided-design (CAD) of convex faceted gem cuts (CFGC) based on Half-edge data structure (HDS), including the algorithms for the implementation is presented in this work. Furthermore, data in this CAD system can also be used directly by the gem CAM module, which will promote the gem CAD/CAM integration.
