Information on the physicochemical properties of chemical species is an important prerequisite when performing tasks such as process design and product design.However,the lack of extensive data and high experimental c...Information on the physicochemical properties of chemical species is an important prerequisite when performing tasks such as process design and product design.However,the lack of extensive data and high experimental costs hinder the development of prediction techniques for these properties.Moreover,accuracy and predictive capabilities still limit the scope and applicability of most property estimation methods.This paper proposes a new Gaussian process-based modeling framework that aims to manage a discrete and high-dimensional input space related to molecular structure representation with the group-contribution approach.A warping function is used to map discrete input into a continuous domain in order to adjust the correlation between different compounds.Prior selection techniques,including prior elicitation and prior predictive checking,are also applied during the building procedure to provide the model with more information from previous research findings.The framework is assessed using datasets of varying sizes for 20 pure component properties.For 18 out of the 20 pure component properties,the new models are found to give improved accuracy and predictive power in comparison with other published models,with and without machine learning.展开更多
BACKGROUND Bone metastasis has various negative impacts.Activities of daily living(ADL)and quality of life(QOL)can be significantly decreased,survival may be impacted,and medical expenses may increase.It is estimated ...BACKGROUND Bone metastasis has various negative impacts.Activities of daily living(ADL)and quality of life(QOL)can be significantly decreased,survival may be impacted,and medical expenses may increase.It is estimated that at least 5%cancer patients might be suffering from bone metastases.In 2016,we published the Comprehensive Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Bone Metastasis.Since then,the therapeutic outcomes for patients have gradually improved.As life expectancy is a major determinant of surgical intervention,the strategy should be modified if the prolongation of survival is to be achieved.AIM To monitor how bone metastasis treatment has changed before and after launch of our guidelines for bone metastasis.METHODS For advanced cancer patients with bone metastasis who visited the Department of Clinical Oncology at Akita University hospital between 2012 and 2023,parameters including the site and number of bone metastases,laboratory data,and survival time,were extracted from electronic medical records and the Katagiri score was calculated.The association with survival was determined for each factor.RESULTS Data from 136 patients were obtained.The 1-year survival rate for the poor prognosis group with a higher Katagiri score was 20.0%in this study,which was 6%and an apparent improvement from 2014 when the scoring system was developed.Other factors significantly affecting survival included five or more bone metastases than less(P=0.0080),and treatment with chemotherapy(P<0.001),bone modifying agents(P=0.0175)and immune checkpoint inhibitors(P=0.0128).In recent years,advances in various treatment methods have extended the survival period for patients with advanced cancer.It is necessary not only to simply extend survival time,but also to maintain ADL and improve QOL.CONCLUSION Various therapeutic interventions including surgical approach for bone metastasis,which is a disorder of locomotor organs,are increasingly required.Guidelines and scoring system for prognosis need to be revised promptly.展开更多

On the base of the traditional checking methods of printing quality,combining the method and theory of digital image processing with printing theory in the new domain of image quality checking,it constitute the checking system of printing quality by image processing,and expound the theory design and the model of this system. This is an application of machine vision. It uses the high resolution industrial CCD(Charge Coupled Device) colorful camera. It can display the real-time photographs on the monitor,and input the video signal to the image gathering card,and then the image data transmits through the computer PCI bus to the memory. At the same time,the system carries on processing and data analysis. This method is proved by experiments. Geo-data is a foundation for the prediction and assessment of ore resources, so managing and making full use of those data, including geography database, geology database, mineral deposits database, aeromagnetics data...Geo-data is a foundation for the prediction and assessment of ore resources, so managing and making full use of those data, including geography database, geology database, mineral deposits database, aeromagnetics database, gravity database, geochemistry database and remote sensing database, is very significant. We developed national important mining zone database （NIMZDB） to manage 14 national important mining zone databases to support a new round prediction of ore deposit. We found that attention should be paid to the following issues： ① data accuracy： integrity, logic consistency, attribute, spatial and time accuracy; ② management of both attribute and spatial data in the same system;③ transforming data between MapGIS and ArcGIS; ④ data sharing and security; ⑤ data searches that can query both attribute and spatial data. Accuracy of input data is guaranteed and the search, analysis and translation of data between MapGIS and ArcGIS has been made convenient via the development of a checking data module and a managing data module based on MapGIS and ArcGIS. Due to the complexity and the high efficiency of the device, the verification is needed. Many early Japanese books record a large amount of information,including historical politics,economics,culture,and so on,which are all valuable legacies.These books are waiting to be reorganized at the moment.However,...Many early Japanese books record a large amount of information,including historical politics,economics,culture,and so on,which are all valuable legacies.These books are waiting to be reorganized at the moment.However,a large amount of the books are described by Kuzushiji,a type of handwriting cursive script that is no longer in use today and only readable by a few experts.Therefore,researchers are trying to detect and recognise the characters from these books through modern techniques.Unfortunately,the characteristics of the Kuzushiji,such as Connect-Separate-characters and Manyvariation,hinder the modern technique assisted re-organisation.Connect-Separatecharacters refer to the case of some characters connecting each other or one character being separated into unconnected parts,which makes character detection hard.Manyvariation is one of the typical characteristics of Kuzushiji,defined as the case that the same character has several variations even if they are written by the same person in the same book at the same time,which increases the difficulty of character recognition.In this sense,this paper aims to construct an early Japanese book reorganisation system by combining image processing and deep learning techniques.The experimentation has been done by testing two early Japanese books.In terms of character detection,the final Recall,Precision and F-value reaches 79.8%,80.3%,and 80.0%,respectively.The deep learning based character recognition accuracy of Top3 reaches 69.52%,and the highest recognition rate reaches 82.57%,which verifies the effectiveness of our proposal.展开更多
