Electrostatic interaction conductive hybrids were prepared in water/ethanol solution by the sol-gel process from inorganic sol containing carboxyl group and water-borne conductive polyaniline (cPANI). The electrostatic interaction hybrids film displayed 1-2 orders of magnitude higher electrical conductivity in comparison with common hybrids film, showing remarkable conductivity stability against water soaking. Most strikingly, it displayed ideal electrochemical activity even in a solution with pH = 14, which enlarged the conducting polyaniline application window to strong alkaline media. 展开更多

We have prepared a high-density polyaniline(PANI) paste(50 mg/m L), with similar physical properties to those of paints or pigments. The synthesis of PANI is confirmed by Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopy. The morphologies of PANI, doped PANI, and doped PANI paste are confirmed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM). Particles of doped PANI paste are approximately 40–50 nm in diameter, with a uniform and cubic shape. The electrochemical performances of doped PANI paste using both liquid and solid polymer electrolytes have been measured by galvanostatic charge and discharge process. The cell fabricated with doped PANI paste and the solid polymer electrolyte exhibits a discharge capacity of ~87 μAh/cm2(64.0 m Ah/g) at the second cycle and~67 μAh/cm2(50.1 m Ah/g) at the 100 th cycle. 展开更多

An insulate to metal transition was investigated based on the measurements of the dependence of the conductivity, activation energy on the protonation state of polyaniline (PANI). An isotropy in conductivity for stretched salt form of PANI was observed.For salt film of PANI, the Ⅰ-Ⅴ curve obeys Ohm's law, which shows a typical metal behavior, however, for base film or film with low protonation state, it can be explained by Space Charge Limited Current (SCLC). It is also found that the Ⅰ-Ⅴ curve of base film of PANI is independent of the work function of electrodes and the polymerization temperature. 展开更多

The structure was characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared technique (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The polyaniline/partially phosphorylated poly(vinyl alcohol)(PANI/P-PVA) nanoparticles were prepared by the chemical oxidative dispersion polymerization of aniline monomer in 0.5 mol/L HC1 aqueous media with the partially phosphorylated poly(vinyl alcohol) (P-PVA) as the stabilizer and co-dopant. The PANI/P-PVA nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), electrical conductivity measurements and re-dispersion stability testing. All the results were compared with the properties of the conventional polyaniline in the emeraldine salt form (PANI ES). It was found that the feeding ratio of P-PVA obviously affected the morphology, re-dispersion stability and electrical conductivity of the PANI/P-PVA nanoparticles. When the feeding ratio of P-PVA ranged from 40 wt% to 50 wt%, the PANI/P-PVA nanoparticles showed spherical shape with good uniformity, significant re-dispersion stability in aqueous media and good electrical conductivity. 展开更多

Conductive microfibers with an average diameter of ca. 1.0 μm were prepared by in situ polymerization of aniline, in which poly(vinylchloride-acrylonitrile) (PVC-AN) was used as the filament-material in electrospinning to form precursor microfibers and carry the aniline monomers. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) results demonstrated that PANi was successfully polymerized in the microfibers. The morphology of the PVC-AN-PANi microfibers was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Results of differential scanning calorimetry indicated that the polymer composite of PVC-AN-PANi formed via molecular interactions. Although the conductivity of PVC-AN-PANi microfibers was still limited (2.2 × 10^-8 S/cm), this method provided an effective and convenient approach for preparing highly uniform and soft microfibrous electrodes. 展开更多
