Concrete is considered to be a two-phase composite made up of micro-cracks and solid parts which consist of coarse aggregate particles and a cement mortar matrix. The cement mortar matrix is assumed to be elastic, homogeneous and isotropic. Based on the Moil-Tanaka concept of average stress and the Eshelby equivalent inclusion theory, a dynamic constitutive model is developed to simulate the impact responses of concrete. The impact compression experiments of concrete and cement mortar are also carried out. Experimental results show that concrete and cement mortar are rate-dependent. Under the same impact velocity, the load-carrying capacity of concrete is higher than that of cement mortar. Whereas, the maximum strain of concrete is lower than that of cement mortar. Regardless of whether it is concrete or cement mortar, with the increase in the impact velocity, the fragment size of specimens after experiment decreases.展开更多

The obtained re- sults are compared with experimental results, showing that the proposed constitutive model can simulate the main mechanical and hydraulic behavior of unsaturated soils in a unified framework. The non-lineaxity of the soil-water characteristic relation is treated in a similar way of elastoplasticity. Two constitutive relations axe integrated by an implicit return-mapping scheme similar to that developed for saturated soils. A consistent tan- gential modulus is derived to preserve the asymptotic rate of the quadratic convergence of Newton's iteration. Combined with the integration of the constitutive model, a complete finite-element formulation of coupling hydro-mechanical problems for unsaturated soils is presented. A number of practical problems with different given initial and boundary conditions are analyzed to illustrate the performance and capabilities of the finite-element model.展开更多

By combining techniques of electron back-scattered diffraction(EBSD) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM), the dynamic recrystallization(DRX) behavior of the alloy at temperatures of 950–1100 ℃ and strain rates of 0.01–1.00 s^(-1) was investigated. The regression method was adopted to determine the thermal deformation activation energy and apparent stress index and to construct a thermal deformation constitutive model. Results reveal that the flow stress is strongly dependent on temperature and strain rate and it increases with temperature decreasing and strain rate increasing. The DRX phenomenon occurs more easily at comparably higher deformation temperatures and lower strain rates. Based on the method for solving the inflection point via cubic polynomial fitting of strain hardening rate(h) versus strain(e) curves, the ratio of critical strain(ec) to peak strain(ep) during DRX was precisely predicted. The nucleation mechanisms of DRX during thermal deformation mainly include the strain-induced grain boundary(GB)migration, grain fragmentation, and subgrain coalescence.展开更多
