INTERSECTION THEOREMS CONCERNING NONCOMPACT SETS WITH H-CONVEX SECTIONS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS

In this paper, we prove some intersection theorems concerning noncompact sets with H-convex sections which generalize the corresponding results of Ma, Fan, Tarafdar, Lassonde and Shin-Tan to H-spaces without the linear structure and to noncompact setting. An application to von Neumann type minimax theorems is given.

Periodic Solution for Diffusive Predator-Prey System with Functional Response

In this paper, a three species diffusive predator-prey model with functional response is studied, where all parameters are time dependent. By using the continuation theorem of coincidence degree theory, the existence of a positive periodic solution for this system is established.

Periodic Solutions of Mixed Type p-Laplacian Equations with Deviating Arguments

Based on Mansevich-Mawhin continuation theorem and some analysis skill,some sufficient conditions for the existence of periodic solutions for mixed type p-Laplacian equation with deviating arguments are established,which are complement of previously known results.

Existence of Solutions to Multi-point BVP with p-Laplacian at Resonance

This paper is concerned with the existence of solutions for the following multipoint boundary value problem at resonance{(Φp (x'))' + f(t,x)=0,0 < t < 1,x' (0)=x'(ξ) x(1)=m-3 ∑i=1 βi x(η i),where βi∈ R,m-3 ∑i=1 β i=1,0 < η 1 < η 2 < ··· < ηm-3 < 1,m-3 ∑i=1 βiηi=1,0 < ξ < 1.An existence theorem is obtained by using the extension of Mawhin's continuation theorem.Since almost all the multi-point boundary value problem at resonance in previous papers are for the linear operator without p-Laplacian by the use of Mawhin's continuation theorem,our method is new.

SOLITARY WAVE AND PERIODIC WAVE SOLUTIONS FOR THE NON-NEWTONIAN FILTRATION EQUATIONS WITH NONLINEAR SOURCES AND A TIME-VARYING DELAY

This paper is concerned with the non-Newtonian filtration equations with non- linear sources and a time-varying delay. By an extension of Mawhin＇s continuation theorem and some analysis methods, several sufficient conditions ensuring the existence of solitary wave and periodic wave solutions are obtained. Some corresponding results in the literature are improved and extended. An example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of our results.

PERIODIC SOLUTIONS FOR GENERALIZED PREDATOR-PREY SYSTEMS WITH TIME DELAY AND DIFFUSION

A set of easily verifiable sufficient conditions are derived for the existence of positive periodic solutions for delayed generalized predator-prey dispersion systemwhere ai(t),bi(t) and Di(t)(i = 1, 2) axe positive continuous T-periodic functions, gi(t,xi) (i = 1,2) and h(t,y) are continuous and T-periodic with respect to t and h(t,y) > 0 for y>0,t, y∈R,pi(x)(i=1,2) are continuous and monotonously increasing functions, and Pi(xi)>0 for xi>0.

Homoclinic Solutions for a Prescribed Mean Curvature Lienard p-Laplacian Equation with a Deviating Argument

Homoclinic solutions were introduced for a prescribed mean curvature Lienard p-Laplacian equation with a deviating argument.It was divided into three parts to discuss the existence of homoclinic solutions.By using an extension of Mawhin's continuation theorem,the existence of a set with 2kT-periodic for a prescribed mean curvature Lienard p-Laplacian equation with a deviating argument was studied.According to a limit on a certain subsequence of 2kT-periodic set,homoclinic solutions were obtained.A numerical example demonstrates the validity of the main results.

Existence of Anti-periodic Solution for Differential Equations

In this paper,we discuss the anti-periodic boundary value problem for a class of first order differential equations.By using homotopy method,we obtain the conditions for the existence of anti-periodic solution for the equation under consideration.This result can be extended to higher order differential equations.

Positive Periodic Solutions of Nonautonomous Delayed Predator-Prey System with Pulse Controls

In this paper, a biological model for two predators and one prey with impulses and periodic delays is considered. By assuming that one predator consumes prey according to Holling II functional response while the other predators consume prey according to the Beddington-DeAngelis functional response, based on the coincidence degree theory, the existence of positive periodic solutions of nonautonomous predator-prey system with impulses and periodic delays is obtained under suitable conditions.

Existence of Periodic Solutions for an Output Hidden Feedback Elman Neural Network

We first recall the sufficient conditions for the existence of a periodic output of a modified Elman neural network with a periodic input found by using Mawhin’s continuation theorem of coincidence degree theory. Using this result, we obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of a periodic output for an output hidden feedback Elman neural network with a periodic input. Examples illustrating these sufficient conditions are given.

THE AUTOMATIC GENERATION OF LIMIT STATE FUNCTION OF HINGED STRUCTURE

In this paper, the theorem of structure continual variation of truss structure in the analysis of structure reliability is derived, and it is used to generate limit state function automatically. We can avoid repeated assembly of global stiffness matrix and repeated inverse operations of the matrix caused by constant changes of structure topology. A new criterion of degenerate of the structure into mechanism is introduced. The calculation examples are satisfactory.

Some Theorems in the Theory of Microstretch Thermomagnetoelectroelasticity

The linear dynamic theory of microstretch thermomagnetoelectroelasticity is studied in this paper.First,a reciprocity relation which involves two processes at different instants is established to form the basis of a uniqueness result and a reciprocal theorem.The proof of the reciprocal theorem avoids both using the Laplace transform and incorporating the initial conditions into the equations of motion.The uniqueness theorem is derived with no definiteness assumption on the elastic constitutive coefficients.Then the continuous dependence theorem is discussed upon two external data systems.Finally,the variational principle of Hamilton type which fully characterizes the solution of the mixed boundary-initial-value problem（mixed problem） is obtained.These theorems lay a solid foundation for further theoretical and numerical studies on microstretch thermomagnetoelectroelastic materials.

A Priori Bounds for Periodic Solutions of a Kind of Second Order Neutral Functional Differential Equation with Multiple Deviating Arguments

Thc main aim of this paper is to use the continuation theorem of coincidence degree theory for studying the existence of periodic solutions to a kind of neutral functional differential equation as follows：（x（t）-^n∑i=1cix（t-ri））″=f（x（t））x′＋g（x（t-τ））＋p（t）.In order to do so, we analyze the structure of the linear difference operator A ： C2π→C2π, [Ax]（t） =x（t）-∑^ni=1cix（t-ri）to determine some flmdamental properties first, which we are going to use throughout this paper. Meanwhile, we also prove some new inequalities which are useful for estimating a priori bounds of periodie solutions.
