It is found that doubl...The assessment of control configurations for an ideal heat integrated distillation column incorporated with an overhead condenser and a bottom reboiler (general HIDiC) is addressed in this work. It is found that double ratio control configuration, (L/D, V/B), is still the best one among all the possibilities. The control configuration,(Pr - Ps, q), appears to be a feasible one for the general HIDiC and the pressure difference between the rectifying and the stripping sections and feed thermal condition are expected to be consistent manipulative variables for the process. The performance of the general HIDiC can be substantially improved by employing effective multivariable control algorithms.展开更多

The ICNs were connected to field devices, such as sensors, actuators and controllers. The VCCP and VSCP were implemented by means of a graphical programming environment and network management so as to simplify the tasks of programming and maintaining the ICNs. The RSP was employed to perform the remote supervision function, which was based on a three-layer browser/server(B/S) structure mode. And its CARMA model was built. Two adaptive control schemes, the minimum variance self tuning control algorithm and the pole configuration self tuning control algorithm, were proposed. The former can make the variance of the output minimum while the latter can make dynamic behavior satisfying. The stability of the two schemes was analyzed. Simulations of them show that the acceleration in the vertical direction has been reduced greatly. The purpose of reducing vibration is realized. The two schemes can reduce the vibration in the suspension and have some practicability.展开更多

Five kinds of control configurations, i.e. single-loop control, multi-loop control, multivariable internal model control (IMC), modified multivariable internal model control (MIMC) and nonlinear process model-based control (NPMC), are designed and applied to the process. Simulation results demonstrate that all of the above control configurations are valid for product quality control. NPMC control configuration is found to be the best one among all the alternatives. It can readily realize setpoint transitions and conduct effectively against external disturbances. MIMC control configuration ranks second in the row for its regulatory responses to feed composition disturbances with relatively extended setting time. Next comes from the multi-loop control configuration, which is more or less handicapped by its greater deviations and overshootings. IMC control configuration can not compete with the multi-loop control configuration because it is extremely sensitive to operating condition changes. Single-loop control configuration is the worst one among all the mentioned control configurations. Its responses for the uncontrolled end products are extremely sluggish.展开更多

Embryo-electronic system is a b...As aerospace vehicles travel in a hellish environment, the reliability of the measuring and controlling systems has played a critical role in the credibility of a whole airborne system. Embryo-electronic system is a bionic hardware capable of self-diagnosing and self-healing. This article presents a new approach to design embryo-electronic systems and introduces their bionic principles, system structures and fanlt-tolerant mechanism. As the current methods cannot meet the requirements for large-scale embryo-electronic systems, this article advances a new shift-register-based configuration memory of embryonic system to solve the problem by using the inter-cell communication to reduce the gene storage capacity of a single cell. The article designs an overall structure of the shift-register-based configuration memories of the embryonic system and connects them into a chain structure. The article also designs an inner circuit of the cell, the control of shift-register-based configuration memory and the way of runtime dynamic configuration. The simulation of field programmable gate array (FPGA) evidences the realizability of the proposed design. Compared to the SRAM-based one, this memory can save 90% of the area when constructing embryonic systems larger than 128× 128 under the same condition.展开更多
For achieving the desired configuration of spacecraft at the desired fixed time,a suboptimal fixed-finite-horizon configuration control method on the Lie group SE(3)is developed based on the Model Predictive Static Pr...For achieving the desired configuration of spacecraft at the desired fixed time,a suboptimal fixed-finite-horizon configuration control method on the Lie group SE(3)is developed based on the Model Predictive Static Programming(MPSP).The MPSP technique has been widely used to solve finite-horizon optimal control problems and is known for its high computational efficiency thanks to the closed-form solution,but it cannot be directly applied to systems on SE(3).The methodological innovation in this paper enables that the MPSP technique is extended to the geometric control on SE(3),using the variational principle,the left-invariant properties of Lie groups,and the topology structure of Lie algebra space.Moreover,the energy consumption,which is crucial for spacecraft operations,is considered as the objective function to be optimized in the optimal control formulation.The effectiveness of the designed sub-optimal control method is demonstrated through an online simulation under disturbances and state measurement errors.展开更多

Then, the singular angular momentum hypersurfaces of the original and the degraded systems are plotted via the singular angular momentum equa- tion of SGCMGs. Based on singular surfaces, the differences between FPC and DPC in singularity and momentum envelope are obtained directly, which provide an important reference for steering law design of DPC. Finally, an IC steering law is designed and applied to DPC. The simulation results demonstrate that the IC steering law has advantages in simplicity of calculation, avoidance of singularity and exactness of output torque, which endow the degraded system with fine controllability in a restricted workspace.展开更多
