It was shown that the grafting capability of Mn(VII)-TU is the highest in these initiating systems. Using Mn (VII-TU as initiator, the effects of various acids (HClO4, H2SO4, HNO3, HCl) on the graft copolymerization of acrylonitrile onto starch were discussed, and the capabilities of graft copolymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA), acrylamide (AM), acrylic acid (AA) onto starch were investigated. The experimental results show that the order of the influences of different acids is HClO4 > H2SO4 > HNO3 > HCl, and the order of grafting capabilities of different monomers grafted onto starch is MMA > AN > AM > AA. The structure and morphology of graft, copolymers were studied with infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The size, shape and roughness of surface of the grafted starch granules are changed after grafting.展开更多

The program simulates the insertion of every monomer unit and records the structure and microscopical sequence of every chain in various lengths. It has been applied successfully for the ring-opening copolymerization of 2,2-dimethyltrimethylene carbonate (DTC) with δ-caprolactone (δ-CL). The simulation coincides with the experimental results and provides microscopical data of triad fractions, lengths of homopolymer segments, etc., which are difficult to obtain by experiments. The algorithm presents also a uniform frame for copolymerization studies under other complicated mechanisms.展开更多

The synth...The copolymerization of CO and styrene catalyzed by Pd/C toward the formation of polyketones (PK)was studied in the N-valeronitrile-N'-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([C4CNmim]+PF6-) medium. The synthe-sized PK was characterized by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR), elemental analysis, 13C-nuclear magnetic resonance (13C-NMR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and gel permeation chro-matography (GPC). The supported ionic liquid film on the surface of Pd/C catalyst can prevent the products from covering the hole of active carbon due to its chemical stability and weak coordination ability with metal ions, and thus efficiently improve the catalytic activity. The effects of different amounts of ionic liquid on the catalytic activity and reusability of the catalyst and the molecular weight of PK were discussed. When the usage of ionic liquid is 10wt%(0.1 g ionic liquid/1 g active carbon carrier) and the theoretical content of Pd2+is 5wt%(0.05 g Pd2+/1 g active car-bon carrier), the highest catalytic activity 2 963.64 gSTCO/(gPd·h) is achieved with the molecular weight and polydispersity index of PK as Mn=9 684, Mw=13 452 and Mw/Mn=1.389.展开更多

The structures of po...Grafting copolymerizations of methyl acrylate(MA) and ethyl acrylate(EA) onto corn starch, respectively, initiated by potassium persulfate-sodium thiosulphate (KPS-STS) redox system, were studied. The structures of poly(MA)-g-starch and poly(EA)-g-starch were characterized by IR, SEM and X-ray diffraction. Experimental results show that KPS-STS is an efficient initiation system for grafting of MA and EA onto corn starch. The maximum percent grafting was obtained at [KPS] of 6.0× 10~3 mol/L, [STS] of 1.8× 10 5 mol/L, [M] of 6. 0× 101 mol/L, S:L=4:100 at 40℃ for 6 h. The reactivity order is MA>EA.展开更多

Copolymer composition as a function of reactivity ratios of comon...This study examines the issues in development of pharmacokinetic single compartment model for systems that obey free radical copolymerization kinetics. Copolymer composition as a function of reactivity ratios of comonomers for well mixed case was derived. For some cases, such as DEF-AN, diethyl fumarate and acrylonitrile system multiplicity in composition were found. The analysis is extended to n monomers. State space model expressions are used and the QSSA assumption is stated in state space equation form. Conditions when damped oscillations can be expected are noted. In addition to multiplicity in product composition, an account of reactivity ratios and other instances of multi- plicity were found during the pharmacodynamics of the free radical polymerization reactions. A careful study of initiated case, thermal case, 1 CSTR and 2 CSTRS was undertaken and results were presented. Numerical integration techniques were employed on the desktop computer. Steady state and transient state conversion for initiated case and thermal case for 1 CSTR and 2 CSTRs were calculated and plotted in Figures 7-9 and 12. No multiplicity was found in the thermal case for 1 CSTR in the dynamics of transient monomer conversion. Multiplicity was found in the initiated case for 1 CSTR in the dynamics of transient conversion of monomer. The multiplicity was found in the second CSTR for the case of 2 CSTRs in series. The influence of charge sequence, monomers and co-polymerized method on properties and structures of the co-polymers was studied. The emission intensity of the co-polymers at different RE3+ concentrations was tested. The results showed that the co-polymers of Eu-PSt and Eu-PMMA both had wide absorption peak at 200-400 nm and the strongest peak appeared at 235 nm. The fluorescent intensity of Eu3+ doped polystyrene co-polymer was stronger than that of Eu3+ doped PMMA copolymer. The characteristic emission of europium ions was observed in the co-polymers. The copolymer doped with rare earth elements showed the 'sensitization effect' for the central ions. The bonded-type rare earth copolymer not only enhanced the energy transfer efficiency, but also improved the fluorescence intensity by increasing the rigidity of main and side chain.展开更多

Copolymer compositions at low conversion levels were determined by ^1H NMR spectra techniques. The reactivity ratios were evaluated by employing Kellen-Tudos (K-T) methods, which yields the apparent reactivity ratios, rBMA = 0.74, rHFMA = 0.87 and rBMA = 0.73, rTFMA = 0.75, respectively, and Q- and e-values of HFMA and TFMA were calculated by the Alfrey-Price method. The results show that HFMA and TFMA are more active than BMA, and the cross-propagation rate constant is greater than the self-propagation one in these two copolymerizations.展开更多

The Y(CCl3COO)3-ZnR2-glycerin catalysts displayed the highest catalytic activity at the molar ratio of Y(CCl3COO)3:ZnR2:glycerin = 1:20:10. In the same copolymerization condition, catalysts containing dialkylzincs with branched alkyl group showed lower catalytic activity than that with primary alkyl group. For those catalysts including dialkylzincs with primary alkyl group, their catalytic activity decreases with increasing number of carbon atom in the alkyl group with the following sequence: Y(CCl3COO)3-ZnEt2-glycerin 〉 Y(CCl3COO)3-Zn(n- Pr)2-glycerin〉Y(CCl3COO)3-Zn(n-Bu)2-glycerin. It was found that the AN monomer plays a key role in the formation of the particles with special morphology analyzed via scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The influence of various factors, suc...The catalytic activity of poly(styrene-acrylic acid) (PSAA) supported neodymium chloride (NdCl3) complex for the copolymerization of styrene and 4-Vinylpyridine was studied. The influence of various factors, such as Al/Nd molar ratio, reaction time, macromolecular carder (PSAA), and ratio of styrene to 4-vinypyridine (g/g), on the copolymerization yield of styrene and 4-Vinylpyridine was investigated. The results showed that the copolymerization of polar monomers with olefins occurred efficiently and the catalytic activity of polymer-supported catalyst was higher than that of the similar small molecular catalysts. The activity of PSAA.Nd complex increased with in- creasing Al/Nd molar ratios and decreased with increasing polymerization time. The highest activity of PSAA'Nd was observed at 120 min, and the highest yield was found at the ratio of styrene to 4-vinylpyridine of 4:2. DSC analysis presented that the resulted polymer had only one glass transition temperature, and showed very good thermal stability.展开更多

Effects of monomer concentration, initiator concentration, matrix concentration, and reaction temperature on the percentage of grafting (G) and grafting efficiency (G_E) were studied. The results show that G and G_E values both increase with the the increase of EA concentration and KPS concentration; when raising HPMC concentration from 0.12 mmol/L to 0.47 mmol/L, G decreases, while G_E increases;and when raising reaction temperature from 50 ℃ to 65 ℃,G increases, but G_E decreases. In addition, the graft copolymers were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) methods.展开更多

The bonded-type rare earth copolymer not only enhanced the energy transfer efficiency, but also improved the fluorescence intensity by increasing the rigidity of main and side chain.

文摘Miniemulsion copolymerization of butyl mathacrylate (BMA) with fluoroacrylate (HFMA, TFMA) was carried out at 70 ℃ by employing potassium persulphate (KPS) as initiator. Copolymer compositions at low conversion levels were determined by ^1H NMR spectra techniques. The reactivity ratios were evaluated by employing Kellen-Tudos (K-T) methods, which yields the apparent reactivity ratios, rBMA = 0.74, rHFMA = 0.87 and rBMA = 0.73, rTFMA = 0.75, respectively, and Q- and e-values of HFMA and TFMA were calculated by the Alfrey-Price method. The results show that HFMA and TFMA are more active than BMA, and the cross-propagation rate constant is greater than the self-propagation one in these two copolymerizations.

文摘Rare-earth ternary catalysts Y(CCl3COO)3-ZnR2-glycerin were prepared for the copolymerization of carbon dioxide and propylene oxide (PO), where dialkylzincs (ZnR2) were diethylzinc, di(n-propyl)zinc, di(n-butyl)zinc, di(i-propyl)zinc, di(i-butyl)zinc, di(s-butyl)zinc,respectively. The Y(CCl3COO)3-ZnR2-glycerin catalysts displayed the highest catalytic activity at the molar ratio of Y(CCl3COO)3:ZnR2:glycerin = 1:20:10. In the same copolymerization condition, catalysts containing dialkylzincs with branched alkyl group showed lower catalytic activity than that with primary alkyl group. For those catalysts including dialkylzincs with primary alkyl group, their catalytic activity decreases with increasing number of carbon atom in the alkyl group with the following sequence: Y(CCl3COO)3-ZnEt2-glycerin 〉 Y(CCl3COO)3-Zn(n- Pr)2-glycerin〉Y(CCl3COO)3-Zn(n-Bu)2-glycerin. However, the alkyl group in the dialkylzinc does not influence the insertion of PO into the propagation chain end.

文摘The monodispersed polymeric particles with an unusual structure were prepared by the dispersion copolymerization of acrylonitrile/styrene(AN/St) in mixed solvents of ethanol/water by using the poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm) macromonomer as a reaction stabilizer. It was found that the AN monomer plays a key role in the formation of the particles with special morphology analyzed via scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The reaction parameters have remarkable influences on the particle size and morphology. The particles possess a thermosensitive property according to the result of laser light scattering(LLS).

文摘Recyclable polymers offer a great opportunity to address the environmental issues of plastics.Herein,functionalization of recyclable polymers,poly((R)-3,4-trans six-membered ring-fused GBL)(P((R)-M)),were reported via end-group modifications and block/random copolymerizations.Di-n-butylmagnesium was selected to catalyze ring-opening polymerization(ROP)of(R)-M in the presence of a series of functional alcohols as the initiators.Block/random copolymerizations of(R)-M andε-caprolactone(ε-CL),L-lactide(L-LA)and trimethylene carbonate(TMC)were performed to control the onset decomposition temperature(T_(d)),melting temperature(T_(m))and glass transition temperature(T_(g)).These functionalized recyclable polymers would find broad applications as the sustainable plastics.

文摘The catalytic activity of poly(styrene-acrylic acid) (PSAA) supported neodymium chloride (NdCl3) complex for the copolymerization of styrene and 4-Vinylpyridine was studied. The influence of various factors, such as Al/Nd molar ratio, reaction time, macromolecular carder (PSAA), and ratio of styrene to 4-vinypyridine (g/g), on the copolymerization yield of styrene and 4-Vinylpyridine was investigated. The results showed that the copolymerization of polar monomers with olefins occurred efficiently and the catalytic activity of polymer-supported catalyst was higher than that of the similar small molecular catalysts. The activity of PSAA.Nd complex increased with in- creasing Al/Nd molar ratios and decreased with increasing polymerization time. The highest activity of PSAA'Nd was observed at 120 min, and the highest yield was found at the ratio of styrene to 4-vinylpyridine of 4:2. DSC analysis presented that the resulted polymer had only one glass transition temperature, and showed very good thermal stability.

Factors which affect the copolymerization were studied, The copolymers exhibited high light stability without adding extra light stabilizers. A self-stabilized polypropylene was prepared.
文摘With potassium persulfate (KPS) as initiator, graft copolymerization of ethyl acrylate (EA) onto water-soluble hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) was investigated in aqueous medium. Effects of monomer concentration, initiator concentration, matrix concentration, and reaction temperature on the percentage of grafting (G) and grafting efficiency (G_E) were studied. The results show that G and G_E values both increase with the the increase of EA concentration and KPS concentration; when raising HPMC concentration from 0.12 mmol/L to 0.47 mmol/L, G decreases, while G_E increases;and when raising reaction temperature from 50 ℃ to 65 ℃,G increases, but G_E decreases. In addition, the graft copolymers were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) methods.
