However, different from the soil slope failure caused by softening action of infiltration rainwater, the mechanism of rock landslide in rainfall is not clear. From the view of fracture mechanics, the propagation of cracks on rock slope and the development of sliding surface were researched. Then based on hydraulics formulas and using Sweden arc method, the influence of crack water on stability of rock slope was quantitatively studied. Finally, an example was given to check the theoretical approach. The result shows that the development of sliding surface of rock slope is mainly caused by crack propagation under hydrostatic pressure when the stress intensity factor KI at crack tip is bigger than the toughness index of rock fractures Klc, and the failure of slope is the result of hydraulic action of crack water and the softening of materials on sliding surface when the depth of crack water is bigger than a minimum value hmin.展开更多

The results indicate that both the average microhardness and joint efficiency of AM60 are improved by the addition of 1% Sn (mass fraction). The ultimate tensile strength of Mg?6Al?1Sn?0.3Mn (ATM610) reaches up to 96.8% of that of base material. Moreover, fracture occurs in the fusion zone ofATM610 instead of in the heat-affected zone of AM60 welded joint. The improvement in the properties is mainly attributed to the formation of Mg2Sn, which effectively obstructs the grain coarsening in the heat-affected zone, resulting in a relatively finemicrostructure. The addition of 1% Sn improves the mechanical properties of AM60 welded joint展开更多

文摘Wire arc additive manufacturing(WAAM)technology has been used to fabricate the multi-layer single-pass deposited wall of AZ80M magnesium(Mg)alloy by gas tungsten arc welding. The formability, thermal cycles, microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of the WAAM AZ80M Mg alloy were investigated. The results show that there was significant difference in the temperature variation and the geometries between the original several layers and the subsequent deposited layers.Owing to the arc energy input, the interpass temperature rised rapidly and then stabilized at 150℃.As a result, the width of the deposited wall increased and then kept stable. There were obvious differences in the microstructure of the WAAM AZ80M Mg alloy among the top zone, intermediate zone and bottom zone of deposited wall.During the arc deposition process, theβphase of the WAAM AZ80M Mg alloy redissolved due to the cyclic heat accumulation, and then precipitated in the grain boundary. The cyclic heat accumulation also led to weakening of dendrite segregation. From the substrate to the top zone, the hardness of the deposited wall decreased gradually, and the intermediate zone which was the main body of deposited wall had relatively uniform hardness. The tensile properties of the WAAM AZ80M Mg alloy were different between the vertical direction and the horizontal direction. And the maximum ultimate tensile strength of the WAAM AZ80M Mg alloy was 308 MPa which was close to that of the as-extruded AZ80M Mg alloy.

文摘A graded structural material(GSM)with a material transition from TA15 to TC11 was fabricated by wire arc additive manufacturing(WAAM)method. The grain morphology, chemical composition, microstructure and mechanical properties of the as-deposited GSM were all characterized to investigate their variations along the deposition direction. The results indicate that from TA15 to TC11,the grain size decreases and a transition from columnar grains to equiaxed grains occurs. The content of alloy element alters greatly within a short distance, and the width of the mutation zone is 800μm.Both TA15 and TC11 regions exhibit basketweave microstructure withα-phase andβ-phase.However,during the transition from TA15 to TC11,theα-lath becomes fine, which leads to an increase in microhardness. The tensile test shows that the bonding strength at the interface is higher than the longitudinal strength of TA15,and the lateral elongation at the interface is higher than that of TA15 and TC11.

文摘To maximize the benefits of wire arc additive manufacturing(WAAM)processes, the effect of post-deposition heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of WAAM AZ80M magnesium(Mg)alloy was investigated.Three different heat treatment procedures(T4,T5 and T6)were performed.According to the results, after T4 heat treatment, the microsegregation of alloying elements was improved with the eutectic structure dissolved.Samples after T5 heat treatment inherited the net-like distribution of secondary phases similar to the as-deposited sample, where the eutectic structure covering the interdendritic regions and theβ-phase precipitated around the eutectic structure. After T6 heat treatment, the tinyβ-phases re-precipitated from the matrix and distributed in inner and outer of the grains. The hardness distribution of the samples went through T4 and T6 heat treatment was more uniform in comparison to that of T5 heat treated samples. The tensile test showed that the T6 heat treatment improved the strength and ductility, and the anisotropy between horizontal and vertical can be eliminated.Moreover,T4 treated samples exhibited highest ductility.

文摘A high-building multi-directional pipe joint(HBMDPJ)was fabricated by wire and arc additive manufacturing using high-strength low-alloy(HSLA)steel.The microstructure characteristics and transformation were observed and analyzed. The results show that the forming part includes four regions. The solidification zone solidifies as typical columnar crystals from a molten pool. The complete austenitizing zone forms from the solidification zone heated to a temperature greater than 1100℃,and the typical columnar crystals in this zone are difficult to observe. The partial austenitizing zone forms from the completely austenite zone heated between Ac1(austenite transition temperature)and1100℃,which is mainly equiaxed grains. After several thermal cycles, the partial austenitizing zone transforms to the tempering zone, which consistes of fully equiaxed grains. From the solidification zone to the tempering zone, the average grain size decreases from 75 to20μm.The mechanical properties of HBMDPJ satisfies the requirement for the intended application.

文摘In worldwide, the most common triggering factor of rock landslides is extended and intense rainfall. The result shows that the development of sliding surface of rock slope is mainly caused by crack propagation under hydrostatic pressure when the stress intensity factor KI at crack tip is bigger than the toughness index of rock fractures Klc, and the failure of slope is the result of hydraulic action of crack water and the softening of materials on sliding surface when the depth of crack water is bigger than a minimum value hmin.

文摘The effect of graphene oxide(GO)and reduced graphene oxide(RGO)nanosheets on the microstructure and mechanical properties of welded joints of mild steel was evaluated by flux-cored arc welding.GO was synthesized by the Hummer’s method and was reduced under hydrothermal conditions at a pressure of 1.1 MPa at 180°C for 12 h.1,3,and 10 mg/mL paste fillers were used in GO and RGO,and applied to the weld notch. The results clearly showed that by increasing the concentration of RGO up to 10 mg/mL,the tensile strength and hardness of the weld metal were improved by approximately 20.5%and 38.4%,respectively,because the coarse grains were changed into fine domains. The domain of the nanosheets cluster was 19.85×10^?9 m.Specifically, the RGO nanosheets contributed to modifying the mechanical properties of the welded steel, likely due to dislocation pinning.

文摘The effects of Sn addition on the microstructure and mechanical properties of gas tungsten arc butt-welded Mg?6Al?0.3Mn (AM60) (mass fraction, %) alloy sheets were investigated by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and microhardness and tensile tests. The addition of 1% Sn improves the mechanical properties of AM60 welded joint
文摘To investigate the effect of the arc re-melting on the microstructure, mechanical and tribological properties of the 390 A alloy, its ingot produced by the conventional induction melting method was subjected to the arc re-melting process. The microstructure of the 390 A alloy was examined by OM and SEM.Mechanical properties of the 390 A alloy were determined by the Brinell method and tensile tests.Tribological properties were investigated with a ball-on-disc type tester. It was observed that the microstructure of both conventional induction melted and arc re-melted 390 A alloys consisted ofα(Al),eutectic Al-12 Si,primary silicon particles,θ-CuAl_(2),β-Al_(5) FeSi,δ-Al_(4) FeSi_(2),andα-Al_(15)(FeMnCu)3 Si_(2) phases.Re-melting with the arc process caused grain refinement in these phases. In addition, after this process, theα(Al)phase and primary silicon particles were dispersed more uniformly, and sharp edges of primary silicon particles became round. The arc re-melting process resulted in an increase in the hardness of the 390 A alloy produced by the conventional method from 102 HB to 118 HB and the tensile strength from 130 to 240 MPa.It also caused an increase in the wear resistance of the 390 A alloy and a decrease in the friction coefficient.

文摘Based on wire arc additive manufacturing(WAAM)technology,AZ31 magnesium alloy in bulk was successfully fabricated, and its microstructure as well as mechanical properties in different planes were observed and analyzed. The AZ31 magnesium alloy has a similar microstructure in the building direction(Z)and travel direction(X),both of which are equiaxed grains. There are heat-affected zones(HAZs)with coarse grains below the fusion line. The second phase is primarily composed of the Mg17Al12 phase, which is evenly distributed in different directions. In addition, the residual stress varies in different directions. There is no significant difference in the hardness of the AZ31 alloy along the Z and X directions, with the average hardness being 68.4 HV and 67.9 HV,respectively.Even though the specimens’ultimate tensile strength along the travel direction is higher in comparison to that along the building direction, their differences in elongation and yield strength are smaller, indicating that the anisotropy of the mechanical properties of the material is small.

文摘Steel matrix composite coatings locally reinforced with in situ TiC-TiB2 particulates were prepared by argon arc cladding(AAC) with different mass fractions of Fe and Ti+B4C powders as the binding materials. The microstructure, micro-hardness and wear resistance were investigated using SEM, XRD, Micro-hardness Tester, and Friction and Wear Tester, respectively. The results show that the main phases of coating are TiC, TiB2 and α-Fe. The excellent metallurgical bonding is formed between the composite coating and substrate. The coating is uniform, continuous and almost defect-free and the particles are dispersively distributed in the cladded coating. Moreover, the formation mechanism was investigated. With the increase of the content of TiC+TiB2, the micro-hardness and wear resistance are also improved at the room temperature under normal atmosphere conditions.

文摘The resin-matrix pantograph contact strip (RMPCS),which has excellent abrasion resistance with electrical current and friction-reducing function, was developed in view of the traditional contact strips with high maintenance cost, high wear rate with electrical current and severe damage to the copper conducting wire. The characteristics of worn surfaces,cross-section and typical elemental distributions of RMPCS were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersion spectrometry (EDS).The wear behavior and arc discharge of RMPCS against copper were investigated with self-made electrical wear tester. The results show that the electrical current plays a critical role in determining the wear behavior, and the wear rate of the RMPCS against copper with electrical current is 2.7-5.8 times higher than the value without electrical current. The wear rate of the contact strip increases with the increase of the sliding speed and electrical current density. The main wear mechanism of RMPCS against copper without electrical current is low stress grain abrasive and slightly adhesive wear, while arc erosion wear and oxidation wear are the dominate mechanism with electrical current, which is accompanied by adhesive wear during the process of wear.
