Regenerating code and hierarchical c...Erasure code is widely used as the redundancy scheme in distributed storage system. When a storage node fails, the repair process often requires to transfer a large amount of data. Regenerating code and hierarchical code are two classes of codes proposed to reduce the repair bandwidth cost. Regenerating codes reduce the amount of data transferred by each helping node, while hierarchical codes reduce the number of nodes participating in the repair process. In this paper, we propose a "sub-code nesting framework" to combine them together. The resulting regenerating hierarchical code has low repair degree as hierarchical code and lower repair cost than hierarchical code. Our code can achieve exact regeneration of the failed node, and has the additional property of low updating complexity.展开更多

Problems of cost control for real estate development projects in China are analyzed and summarized. According to the real estate development project cost control problems and related factors, a cost control index system of real estate development enterprise, and a cost control factors index system of real estate projects are constructed respectively. Cost control in the five stages of a real estate development project is introduced and summarized respectively. The five stages include: the investment decision-making, planning and design stage, the bidding phase, project implementation stage, and rental or sale.展开更多
This paper studies the True Cost of Living Index(TCLI)of food consumption for all income groups of urban households in China from 1997 to 2012.Based on the Generalised Fechner-Thurstone direct utility function,this pa...This paper studies the True Cost of Living Index(TCLI)of food consumption for all income groups of urban households in China from 1997 to 2012.Based on the Generalised Fechner-Thurstone direct utility function,this paper estimates the TCLI under variable preference assumptions,and also decomposes the total bias of the traditional Laspeyres Price Index(LPI)estimation of TCLI into substitution bias and preference variation bias.For all income group households,the estimated preference variation bias is found to be quite substantial.According to the finding,when it is necessary to apply the cost of living adjustment clause in any public welfare programmes,the TCLI calculation compatible with preference variation may be more appropriate than the usual Laspeyres Consumer Price Index estimation.展开更多

Multi-objective synthesis is based on the need of flight mission and subjectivity inclination of decision-maker. The decision-maker, however, has illegibility for under- standing the requirements of multiple objectives and the subjectivity inclination. It is important to develop a reasonable cost performance index for describing the illegibility of the decision-maker in multi-objective path planning. Based on Voronoi dia- gram method for the path planning, this paper studies the synthesis method of the multi-objective cost performance index. Ac- cording to the application of the cost performance index to the path planning based on Voronoi diagram method, this paper ana- lyzes the cost performance index which has been referred to at present. The analysis shows the insufficiency of the cost per- formance index at present, i.e., it is difficult to synthesize sub-objective flmctions because of the great disparity of the sub-objective fimctions. Thus, a new approach is developed to optimize the cost performance index with the multi-objective fuzzy optimization strategy, and an improved performance index is established, which could coordinate the weight conflict of the sub-objective functions. Finally, the experimental result shows the effectiveness of the proposed approach.展开更多
