The Role and features of Student Peer Feedback in Interpreting Training——Preliminary Findings of a Survey of both trainers and students

The project delves into the preliminary findings of a survey of both trainers and students on the practice of using student peer feedback in interpreting practice.It first explains the theoretical foundation which justifies the use of peer feedback in interpreting practice,the research methodology and data collection.Then it brings forth specific findings concerning the implementation of peer feedback in the interpreting class followed by discussions of the role and features of student peer feedback as a means to help students ready for the booth.Analysis of the results shows that peer feedback in interpreting practice keeps students on-task,attentive and help them spot their own problems.Trainers and students themselves point to similar features of student peer feedback as focusing on comprehension of the original,word choice and numbers.The preliminary findings of the survey demonstrate the roles and features of student peer feedback in interpreting practice and point to the possible way of enhancing student’s learning curve through more effective peer feedback.

The Application of TBL Using Role Play to Introduce Vocabulary in China's Private Language School

A specific application of task-based learning in teaching vocabulary to young learners and a complete task cycle using role play to present vocabulary in China's private language school would be described in the study. The participants aged between 7 and 9 are thought to be starters according to their language competence in Common European Framework of Reference for language. The rationale for stages in the task cycle will be fully explored with reference to Piaget and Vygotsky's theory in teaching young learners. The advantages of the adoption of TBL with young learners will be illustrated and some possible problems in implementing TBL in China, a representative country of Confucian-heritage culture would also be discussed in the paper. The study indicates that young learners in China are quite welcome this new approach in their English classes, but the targeted learners' age and background information need to be taken into consideration when actually implement this approach.

Teacher and Student Roles in Chinese Culture

Nowaday, going abroad to further education has gained the greatest popularity among chinese students. Majority of these oversea students may suffer from some problems in their cross-cultural classrooms, even though they are excellent in their own country. Chinese learners are frequently labeled as"passive learners", compared with other foreign learners. The teachers in foreign countries may also play a sharply different role in teaching. These problems have already attracted some education experts and researchers'attention and a few research programs and experiments have been conducted. This paper will adopt Tweed and Lehman (2002)'s Confucian-Socratic framework to systematically analyze student and teacher roles in Chinese culture and communicative norms of the students and teachers in Chinese contexts. A better cross-clutural classroom will be built on the basis of foreign teachers and chinese students'mutual efforts on understanding each other's culture background.

Discussion on the Role of Computer Technology in Promoting Students’ Interest in Learning

This paper conducts the discussion on the role of the computer technology in promoting students’ Interest in learning. Students’ interest in learning is constantly evolving from low to high levels, through fun, fun and interest in three stages. In interesting stages, the interest of the student is associated with the external characteristics of the stimulus, such as the interest of the novel and interesting teaching content, and when these factors disappear, the interest will soon drop or even disappear. In the computer aided teaching process, the advancement independent study mechanism founds, this time the student community is regarded as the teaching main body, becomes the study the master, the student may act according to own study progress condition to carry on the content repetition study. From this perspective, this paper proposes the novel idea that will later promote the further development of the related subjects.

The experience of transition from nursing students to newly graduated registered nurses in Singapore

Objectives:To investigate the experience of newly graduated registered nurses(NGRNs)in Singapore following their initial 6-12 months of transition from nursing student to registered nurse.Methods:This mixed-methods study consisted of two phases.In the first phase,data were collected via the administration of the online survey to 30 NGRNs.The questionnaire contained 42 items of the fourpoint Likert scale survey.In the second phase,a focus group interview was conducted with 5 NGRNs to gather complementary information regarding the major findings from the first phase.Results:The survey revealed despite most NGRNs(80%)in this study expressed overall satisfied with their transition,the item score was(2.97±0.61)out of 4,the majority(83.3%)also perceived their transition to professional practice being stressful,the item score was(3.07±0.74)out of 4.Three themes emerged from the interview,'personal transition experience','professional transition experience',and'organizational transition experience',which are entwined to construct overall NGRNs'transition experiences.Conclusions:This study reaffirms the theory-practice gap phenomenon.This signifies the need for closer collaboration between educational,healthcare industry and regulatory stakeholders to examine and address factors that influence their transition experience to better support them for workforce readiness.

The role repositioning of teacher and student in the process of knowledge internalization under flipped classroom

Flipped classroom model led to the transformation of university teachers＇ teaching role. From the perspective of the sociology of knowledge, the teacher professional development is a process of transformation of the role of teachers, and role transformation and the way of actors involved in the knowledge are associated. Participating in knowledge in different ways, role types are also different. Thus, changing the way ofparticipating in knowledge is the basic way to participate in the transformation of the role. Classification of roles is not the classification ofhumans.A social may might play many roles of many types in his life andmay have the function of a variety of roles at the same time. Meanwhile, it can be transferred between characters, especially in the case of depending on the same knowledge system.As long as the ways of involvement are different,the functions and types of roles are also different. University teachers are those who play a variety of roles of knowledge and society, some being the teaching teachers of organization and dissemination of knowledge, some being scientific and teaching teachers who focus on organizing and disseminating knowledge as well as knowledge creation, and knowledge creation and heavy teacher teaching and research, while others are knowledge creation based research teachers. In the field of the sociology of knowledge, university teachers should be scientific teaching roles depending on a deep knowledge and participating in knowledge in a variety of ways. From the perspective of the sociology of knowledge, according to Eph · Znaniecki＇ s role classification, university teachers participate in knowledge in three ways： teaching, learning and researching. Teaching, learning and researching are relative but different ways of participating in knowledge. State they are relative because itshows teaching can promote learning, learning can promote researching, researching can also promote learning and teaching. The homochromous interaction of teaching, leaming and researching, knowledge is in constant state of development and generation.

An Analysis on Teacher-student Role Changing in Interactive Teaching Mode

Teachers and students play important roles in teaching activity,and they are the most essential parts of the system.The relationship between teachers and students,the core schooling interpersonal relationship,directly determines whether the teach ing activities can go smoothly or not,and is an important index to measure the quality of teachers and students'school life,and also is an important factor that affects the social function of education.For a long time,relationship between teachers and students has been a hot topic in education and in different sectors of the society.This dissertation aims at discussing the teacher-student role changing in interactive teaching mode to provide reference for building a harmonious relationship between teachers and stu dents.

经济危机余波下的中国大学生幸福度调查分析

为了解金融危机余波对大学生心理健康和幸福度产生影响以及影响的程度,笔者对全国七个地区的八所著名高校的在校本科生进行了问卷调查,并对调查数据使用专业统计软件SPSS进行了处理。对全国高校大学生的平均幸福度,幸福原因的归因倾向,幸福感的来源,金融危机及其余波对中国大学生的心理产生的影响等作了分析。在此基础上,对大学生心理压力特别是学业压力、人际交往压力、就业压力的缓解,从学校、社会、个人三个角度提出了建议措施。

Correlation and pathways of behavioral activation systems mediating physical activity level and depressive symptoms among college students

BACKGROUND Depression is a common mental disorder among college students.The main symptoms include being persistent low mood,sad emotional experiences,lack of pleasure,listlessness,and impaired cognitive function accompanied by tendencies of self-harm and suicide.AIM To clarify the pathways and effects of the behavioral activation system between physical activity and depressive symptoms in college students with depressive symptoms.METHODS This cross-sectional research screened 3047 college students.Of these,472 had depressive symptoms,with a depression detection rate of 15.49%.Furthermore,442 college students with depressive symptoms were analyzed.A one-way analysis of variance and Pearson’s correlation,linear regression,and structural equation modeling analyses were used to explore the correlations and pathways of the interactions between the variables.RESULTS Depressive symptoms were significantly negatively correlated with physical activity(r=-0.175,P<0.001),the behavioral activation system(r=-0.197,P<0.001),and drive(r=-0.113,P=0.017).Furthermore,it was negatively correlated with fun-seeking(FS)(r=-0.055,P=0.251);however,it was not significant.Physical activity was significantly positively correlated with reward responsiveness(RR)(r=0.141,P=0.003)and drive(r=0.124,P=0.009)and not significantly positively correlated with FS(r=0.090,P=0.058).The mediating effect of RR between physical activity and depressive symptoms was significant[B=-0.025,95%confidence interval(95%CI):-0.051 to-0.008,P=0.001].The direct and total effects of physical activity on depressive symptoms and were significant(B=-0.150,95%CI:-0.233 to-0.073,P<0.001;B=-0.175,95%CI:-0.260 to-0.099,P<0.001),respectively.CONCLUSION As physical activity levels increased,depression scores among college students decreased.The mediating effect of RR between physical activity and depressive symptoms was significant.Therefore,colleges and universities should encourage college students with depression to increase their physical activity and improve their behavioral activation system.Particular attention should be paid to RR,which may reduce the prevalence of depressive symptoms.

The positioning of the occupational role and the improvement of the abilities of the college counselors

For the college students, the instructors are the guides and helpers of the healthy growth of them, who play an important role in their establishment of a correct outlook on life, and values, and the cultivation of the good moral qualities. At present, in the team of the college counselors, there exist the problems that the responsibilities are fuzzy, and their own qualities need to be improved, and the construction of the occupation is slow, and so on, which require that we should recognize the positioning of the counselors＇ occupational role, and focus on the enhancement of the abilities of the counselors. Therefore, this paper puts forward the path to improve the abilities of the role of the counselors, in order to speed up the construction of the professionalism and specialization of the team of the college counselors, making them more capable of supporting the growth of the physical and mental health of the college students.

Vicissitudes of Grammar Instruction and the Significance of English Grammar to Middle School Students in China

Grammar has experienced its vicissitudes or ups and downs in the course of language instruction. It was once regarded as the most crucial issue in language instruction. However, the recognition of transformation in the kind of proficiency that learners need, together with the achievements obtained in such fields as linguistics and teaching methodology and so forth, result in the Great Grammar Debates. Consequently, as a shackle on learners＇ imagination, grammar became irrelevant. In the last few years, however, the pendulum of grammar instruction seems to be on the return swing because of public pressure for standards and testing. Analysis on the Individual Discrepancy in English Teaching

Recently, a great tide of English teaching reform swept across China, advocating the innovation of educational concept and teaching mode. However, the phenomenon of rigid uniformity in teaching process is still commonly seen, neglecting the individual discrepancy of students. The individual discrepancy is manifested by both the congenital heredity and the acquired disposition. Supported by the Chinese traditional theory of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude and Vygotsky's "the zone of proximal development" theory, this paper illustrates the importance of paying attention to the individual discrepancy from the perspective of students' growing background and personality. In addition, standing on the point of view of relevant authority and English teacher, the author tries to put forward some countermeasures.

The Public Role of the Social and Human Sciences After the Crisis of Modernity

The current crisis of modernity has far-reaching implications for the public role of the social and human sciences.This crisis has made it clear that the central theoretical premises and concepts used by social scientists until now are not reflections of phenomena and processes which really exist,but components of the modern imaginary or discourse.As a consequence,social scientists5 ambition of being experts and guides of human practice has been seriously undermined and their social function should be completely reconsidered and redefined.From now on,the function of social scientists cannot be to provide people with an objective knowledge about reality.In a situation marked by the theoretical and epistemological disenchantment of modernity,their public role should be to help denaturalize and deconstruct any statement,practice,institution,or power relation with claims of being objectively founded.

家庭经济困难医学生一般自我效能感对就业能力的影响机制

目的探讨医学类高校家庭经济困难大学生的一般自我效能感与就业能力的关系及成就动机与职业抱负的中介作用。方法2023年3—5月,采用就业能力量表、一般自我效能感量表、成就动机量表、职业抱负量表对包头医学院、内蒙古医科大学、内蒙古民族大学、赤峰学院、包头职业技术学院5所医学类高校643名参与者[75%(482名)女性,25%(161名)男性)]进行问卷星调研。结果学生干部的职业抱负[(3.92±0.36)分]、一般自我效能感[(2.59±0.56)分]、成就动机[(10.22±0.86)分]分别高于普通学生[(3.68±0.77)分vs.(2.36±0.52)分vs.(10.01±0.65)分],差异有统计学意义(P<0.05),男性就业能力得分高于女性,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。护理学、临床医学的成就动机差异也有统计学意义(P<0.05)。一般自我效能感、成就动机、职业抱负和就业能力之间存在显著的正相关关系。职业抱负在一般自我效能感和就业能力之间存在显著的中介效应(0.073,占总效应的13.92%),一般自我效能感通过成就动机和职业抱负的中介作用影响就业能力。结论本文表明可以从积极培养家庭经济困难大学生的一般自我效能感进而激发学生的成就动机着手,同时为求职建立明确的行动目标,提高了学生的职业抱负,从而提高就业能力。本研究所提出的就业能力影响机制为高校有效开展职业指导工作提供了参考途径。
