Health law education,an important part of global health education,is beneficial for both medical and law schools.This field can help lawyers and policy makers to develop their careers and equip traditional health prof...Health law education,an important part of global health education,is beneficial for both medical and law schools.This field can help lawyers and policy makers to develop their careers and equip traditional health professionals,such as doctors and nurses,with a basic knowledge of health law.However,unlike in western universities,health law education in China is still at its infant stage and,as such,lacks a systematic pedagogical approach among institutions of higher education in China.Considering the advancements in the field of health law education,this study systematically reviews the status of health law education in institutions of higher learning in China and suggests ways to make the pedagogical approach more consistent.This systematic review revealed that,between 2012 and 2021,major law schools and medical schools that have developed the subject of health law education in China lack consensus on the aim,scope,mode,and methods of health law education.The first problem is that Chinese universities are unable to agree on how to classify the subject of health law.Another set of problems relate to institutions themselves.Not only do universities lack qualified health law faculty,but they also rely on relatively uninspiring teaching materials.This leads to ineffective,generic pedagogical approaches in both medical and law schools.These problems leave future lawyers,future doctors and nurses unclear about their choices for health law study at the graduate level and their ultimate career development.We therefore propose four preliminary solutions to continue to develop this new interdisciplinary subject—health law education—in Chinese universities:clearly classify the subject of health law,equip the health law field with more professional textbooks,enact joint degree programs between medical schools and law schools,and establish a health law research center in either law schools or medical schools.展开更多

Besides nuclear wars and terrorism, reactor runaway and un-ruled radioactive source are the main nuclear accidents in peacetime. With the active development of the nuclear industry in China, the existing nuclear education system is becoming deficient or defective. Human factors play an important role in nuclear accident prevention and emergency response in the nuclear engineering system, non-nuclear professional staff are often the subject of personnel in most nuclear projects. In order to ensure the sustainable and efficient accord development of nuclear industry, general nuclear education is necessary for correlative non-nuclear professionals, such as technologies, management, safety, culture and ethic. For such, we present a framework to conceptualizing micropolitics and some el...The idea that studies about education for engineers should be complemented with micro-politics analysis which is presented in this article. For such, we present a framework to conceptualizing micropolitics and some elements that show how the micro- and macro-politics are overlapped in any political fact. From this premise, the micro-politics is used to lift some elements of analysis of a particular case of engineering educational process in Brazil, where several dominant behaviors are characterized as violent or repressive behaviors that do not favor the development of technical inventivity, one of fundamental characteristics of the profession. What is argued here is that these behaviors are part of the range of a dominant subjectivity that has as its goal the maintenance of professional subjectivity not to develop in students a critical subjectivity, which must be produced under teaching techniques and pedagogical approaches. To consolidate the micro-politics analysis perspective are cited several statements used in Brazilian engineering education process, which diverts attention from the real reasons for failures in the engineers" education. Finally, a report of physics violence inside a Brazilian public institution is cited to illustrate how the coercive institutional power operates in the production of students' subjectivity.展开更多

As professors are subjected to teaching their classes online due to the recent COVID-19, our local Hong Kong students find it difficult to consult their teachers, and ultimately would fail to achieve the intended lear...As professors are subjected to teaching their classes online due to the recent COVID-19, our local Hong Kong students find it difficult to consult their teachers, and ultimately would fail to achieve the intended learning outcomes, especially for practical-based subjects. In this research, students having online classes of a practical-based fabric design subject were encouraged to self-study from Open Educational Resource (OER) materials for a further and better understanding of their subject. Additionally, online materials were developed to improve students’ understanding via skill of digital literacy. Their learning progress was evaluated and compared to the face-to-face version. The majority of students found online classes combined with self-studying OER materials, potentially be a substitute for face-to-face classes. Most of the students further opined different OER videos assisted them without any face-to-face instructions in practical works, to develop new fabric samples from the inspiration. Analysis of test results, and comparison of students’ final grades with different learning modes, supported these phenomena.展开更多
