Although architecture of the digital home network based on telecommunication networks has been standardized in China, only wireless access is defined to be allowable. Therefore, it becomes the focus of further research how to establish a wireless digital home network. This article proposes the concept and shows the architecture of ubiquitous access for wireless digital home networks. Moreover, key technologies for ubiquitous access are discussed here, including cognitive radio, the concept of wireless Mesh, generic link transfer mechanism, Quality of Service (QoS) guarantee mechanism, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and coexistence of heterogeneous systems. 展开更多

The development of devices to improve the accessibility of buildings an... 3D printing technology is an innovative manufacturing technology used in several disciplines, whose number and diversity are growing day by day. The development of devices to improve the accessibility of buildings and urban spaces for people with disabilities through 3D priming technology is still not broadly explored. The present study is focused on filling this gap, with the realization of a tactile map of the MTE (Museum of Electrical Technology) of the University of Pavia (Italy) for blind and visually impaired people. The tactile map represents the building plan with all the information to guide the visit. The device is the result of a research process which is made by several steps and experimental tests, aimed at setting the best 3D priming profiles to meet all the requirements of the end-users. This paper describes methods and strategies applied to reach these goals: it underlines the social and technical approaches, the experimental phases and its possible future developments. 展开更多

With the acquirement of remote design data at server end using Http technology, the style design is ultimately implemented at the client end using Auto-connecting algorithms. Broadband over Power Line (BPL) is an alternative means of providing high-speed Internet access, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and other broadband services to homes and businesses by using the existing medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) power lines. This paper provides a comprehensive understanding about BPL with its implementation prospects. In this context, the existing power grid infrastructures are discussed elaborately. BPL system functionality with its components and its benefits over other access technologies is also pointed out. Implementation scenarios for various deployment options are illustrated here. The different implementation challenges for BPL system, such as the characteristics of power lines, attenuation problem, noise, potential interference with the other radio frequencies are also presented with their remedies. Comparative analysis between several broadband access technologies shows the feasibility of BPL deployments all over the world. 展开更多

The High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) technology for Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) is used to improve the overall uplink performance: to increase the peak data rate and throughput and to reduce the transmission delay of uplink. The considered enhancements include Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC), Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ), Node B fast scheduling and sharing of uplink channel resources between User Equipments (UE). New Media Access Control protocol entities (MAC-e and MAC-es) are adopted to enhance and optimize protocols. Simulation results of these technologies show that the system performance (including the peak rate, throughput, and delay) can be improved significantly. 展开更多

However,the AII-IP core network will be a general trend since broadband wireless access adopts the connectionless statistical packet multiplexing technology.Based on the introduction of IEEE802.16d,High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) and CDMA2000 1x EV-DV technologies,this paper discusses the development trend of broadband wireless access technologies, and concludes that 3G's packet access technologies are the same as IEEE802.16d/e,and AII-IP is the goal.It emphasizes that Chinese TD-SCDMA should develop toward connectionless statistical packet multiplexing as early as possible. 展开更多
