Forecasting on Crude Palm Oil Prices Using Artificial Intelligence Approaches

An accurate prediction of crude palm oil (CPO) prices is important especially when investors deal with ever-increasing risks and uncertainties in the future. Therefore, the applicability of the forecasting approaches in predicting the CPO prices is becoming the matter into concerns. In this study, two artificial intelligence approaches, has been used namely artificial neural network (ANN) and adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). We employed in-sample forecasting on daily free-on-board CPO prices in Malaysia and the series data stretching from a period of January first, 2004 to the end of December 2011. The predictability power of the artificial intelligence approaches was also made in regard with the statistical forecasting approach such as the autoregressive fractionally integrated moving average (ARFIMA) model. The general findings demonstrated that the ANN model is superior compared to the ANFIS and ARFIMA models in predicting the CPO prices. 展开更多

In the present work... Mixed crude palm oil (MCPO), the mixture of palm fiber oil and palm kernel oil, has become of great interest as a renewable energy source. It can be easily extracted from whole dried palm fruits. In the present work, the degummed, deacidified MCPO was blended in petroleum diesel at portions of 30% and 40% by volume and then tested in agricultural diesel engines for long term usage. The particulates from the exhaust of the engines were collected every 500 hr using a four-stage cascade air sampler. The 50% cut-off aerodynamic diameters for the first three stages were 10, 2.5 and 1μm, while the last stage collected all particles smaller than 1 μm. Sixteen particle bounded polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were analyzed using a high performance liquid chromatography. The results indicated that the size distribution of particulate matter was in the accmnulation mode and the pattern of total PAHs associated with fine-particles (〈 1 μm) showed a dominance of larger molecular weight PAHs (4--6 aromatic rings), especially pyrene. The mass median diameter, PM and total PAH concentrations decreased when increasing the palm oil content, but increased when the running hours of the engine were increased. In addition, Commercial petroleum diesel (PB0) gave the highest value of carcinogenic potency equivalent (BaPeq) for all particle size ranges. As the palm oil was increased, the; BaPeq decreased gradually. Therefore the degununed-deacidified MCPO blends are recommended for diesel substitute. 展开更多

Currently, environmental consideration becomes the most important issue in biodiesel production. The objective of this study is to evaluate environmental impact of biodiesel production using catalyst from crude palm oil in Aceh province. The results of this study show that biodiesel production from oil palm have differend resulted which is depent on various of material inputs. The environmental impact and energy consumption due to pre-harvest activity was higher compared to post harvest activity. The characteristics of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission value before stable productivity is 2.30-2.56 kg-CO2 eq./kg-Biodiesel Fuel from Crude Palm Oil (BDF-CPO). When the productivity has reached stability, the GHG value is 1.66-1.71 kg-CO2 eq./kg-BDF-CPO. The total value of energy consumption before stable production is 46.31-49.83 MJ/kg-BDF-CPO. Utilization of agrochemical in form of fertilizer and plant protection generate significant contribution to environmental impact of biodiesel production from Crude Palm Oil (CPO) is 50.46% for scenario I and 68.14% for scenario 2. The combination reduction of CO2 eq. emission values of before and after stable production for BDF-CPO is 37.83% for scenario 1 and 49.96% for scenario 2. 展开更多

Energy and Exergy Analysis of a Vegetable Oil Refinery

Energy and exergy analysis was conducted for a vegetable oil refinery in the Southwest of Nigeria. The plant, powered by two boilers and a 500 kVA generator, refines 100 tonnes of crude palm kernel oil (CPKO) into edible vegetable oil per day. The production system consists of four main group operations: neutralizer, bleacher, filter, and deodourizer. The performance of the plant was evaluated by considering energy and exergy losses of each unit operation of the production process. The energy intensity for processing 100 tonnes of palm kennel oil into edible oil was estimated as 487.04 MJ/tonne with electrical energy accounting for 4.65%, thermal energy, 95.23% and manual energy, 0.12%. The most energy intensive group operation was the deodourizer accounting for 56.26% of the net energy input. The calculated exergy efficiency of the plant is 38.6% with a total exergy loss of 29919 MJ. Consequently, the exergy analysis revealed that the deodourizer is the most inefficient group operation accounting for 52.41% of the losses in the production processes. Furthermore, a critical look at the different component of the plant revealed that the boilers are the most inefficient units accounting for 69.7% of the overall losses. Other critical points of exergy losses of the plant were also identified. The increase in the total capacity of the plant was suggested in order to reduce the heating load of the boilers. Furthermore, the implementation of appropriate process heat integration can also help to improve the energy efficiency of the system. The suggestion may help the company to reduce its high expenditure on energy and thus improve the profit margin. 展开更多

目的应用傅里叶变换红外光谱(FTIR)结合最小偏二乘法(PLS)建立大豆原油-棕榈油二元掺伪体系的定量分析模型。方法以42个大豆原油、21个精炼油、88个掺伪油的FIIR谱图为模型样本,预处理方法选用标准正态变量(SNV),在此基础上应用主成分分... 目的应用傅里叶变换红外光谱(FTIR)结合最小偏二乘法(PLS)建立大豆原油-棕榈油二元掺伪体系的定量分析模型。方法以42个大豆原油、21个精炼油、88个掺伪油的FIIR谱图为模型样本,预处理方法选用标准正态变量(SNV),在此基础上应用主成分分析(PCA)提取特征变量,随机选取60个掺伪油样组成校正集,28个掺伪油样组成验证集,以PLS方法建立大豆原油的掺伪定量模型。结果 PCA可将大豆原油及精炼油分成独立的2类。经PCA分析,大豆原油中掺入棕榈油的掺伪检测限为5%。PLS校正模型的判定系数R2为0.9926,校正误差均方根RMSEC为1.8121。预测模型的R2为0.9823,交叉验证误差均方根RMSECV为2.8189。同时得到的预测结果的偏差在1.3909%~3.1019%之间,差异不显著,说明此模型可行。结论 FTIR-PLS模型能够实现大豆原油的掺伪定量分析,分析速度快,能够满足大豆原油入库要求,是一种可行的大豆原油掺伪分析方法。 展开更多

【目的】测定4个单株年产油量较高油棕品种果肉中的维生素E含量,明确其与粗脂肪含量的相关性,为棕榈油品质的改良提供参考依据。【方法】以4个油棕品种(XJS30、SD60、SJ64和LS30)的新鲜果为试验材料,参考国家标准GB/T 2906—1982采用索... 【目的】测定4个单株年产油量较高油棕品种果肉中的维生素E含量,明确其与粗脂肪含量的相关性,为棕榈油品质的改良提供参考依据。【方法】以4个油棕品种(XJS30、SD60、SJ64和LS30)的新鲜果为试验材料,参考国家标准GB/T 2906—1982采用索氏提取法提取果肉粗脂肪,参考国家标准GB 5009.82—2016提取果肉维生素E,应用高效液相色谱法测定其含量与组分,并结合测定的粗脂肪含量,通过线性回归(Y=aX+b,其中Y为维生素E含量,X为粗脂肪含量)分析二者间的相关性。【结果】利用高效液相色谱法检测维生素E含量的线性关系良好,精密度高,维生素E的平均回收率高达98.93%;4个油棕品种果肉中均含有α-生育酚、β-生育酚、γ-生育酚和δ-生育酚4种异构体,品种间的维生素E含量排序为SJ64(724.83 mg/kg)>SD60(344.52 mg/kg)>XJS30(215.46 mg/kg)>LS30(159.13 mg/kg),变异范围为23.64%~44.16%;测定120份油棕果肉粗脂肪含量,并通过线性回归分析其与维生素E含量间的线性关系,证实油棕维生素E含量与粗脂肪含量呈正相关。【结论】在年产油量较高的4个油棕品种中,SJ64品种的果肉维生素E含量及粗脂肪含量均最高,且二者间呈正相关,该研究结果为棕榈油品质改良及油棕新品种培育提供了参考。 展开更多

建立了QuEChERS-液相色谱-串联质谱同时测定棕榈原油中敌草快、乐果、倍硫磷、倍硫磷亚砜、倍硫磷砜、氟吡甲禾灵残留量的方法。以回收率及基质效应为考察指标,评估了乙二胺-N-丙基硅烷(PSA)/C18混合物、C18键合锆胶(Z-Sep+)/C18... 建立了QuEChERS-液相色谱-串联质谱同时测定棕榈原油中敌草快、乐果、倍硫磷、倍硫磷亚砜、倍硫磷砜、氟吡甲禾灵残留量的方法。以回收率及基质效应为考察指标,评估了乙二胺-N-丙基硅烷(PSA)/C18混合物、C18键合锆胶(Z-Sep+)/C18混合物、Z-Sep+、C18 4种分散吸附剂的净化效果,结果表明Z-Sep+/C18的净化效果最佳。样品采用含1%(v/v)乙酸的甲醇溶液提取,Z-Sep+/C18分散固相萃取净化;液相色谱以Atlantis T3色谱柱梯度洗脱分离,质谱分析采用电喷雾正离子电离、多反应监测模式,以基质匹配校准曲线外标法进行定量。6种农药在3个添加水平(10、20、250μg/kg)下的回收率范围为70.0%~97.9%,相对标准偏差范围为2.6%~10.2%;6种农药的定量限(S/N≥10)为0.1~2.5μg/kg。该方法简便、灵敏、准确、环保,适用于棕榈原油中上述6种农药残留的定性、定量分析。 展开更多
