AIM:To develop and validate a questionnaire to evaluate knowledge,attitude and practice of patients diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration(AMD)who have undergone intravitreal injection treatment.METHODS:This ...AIM:To develop and validate a questionnaire to evaluate knowledge,attitude and practice of patients diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration(AMD)who have undergone intravitreal injection treatment.METHODS:This study was conducted among patients diagnosed with AMD in Kuala Lumpur.The generation of the instrument included four phases which included item and domains development,content,face validity and exploratory factor analysis.Content validity and modified Kappa was used for validation of knowledge domain.Exploratory factor analysis was used for validation of both attitude and practice domains.Face validity was conducted in 12 patients,content validity was ascertained in 120 patients and test-retest reliability was determined in 39 patients with AMD.RESULTS:Content validity index(CVI)and modified kappa showed excellent values for most items in the knowledge domain with CVI for item(I-CVI)values between 0.78-1.0 and Kappa values of>0.74.The Kaiser-MeyerOlkin(KMO)sampling adequacy showed acceptable scores of 0.70 and 0.75 for both attitude and practice domains respectively and Bartlett’s Test of sphericity were significant(χ^(2)=0.00,P<0.001).Factor analysis resulted in five factors with thirty items for attitude domain and four factors with twenty items for practice domain.The Cronbach’s alpha showed acceptable values for all items in knowledge,attitude and practice domain with values>0.70 and good test-retest reliability.The final version of the questionnaire consisted of 93 items from four sections consisting of demographic details,knowledge,attitude and practice.CONCLUSION:The findings of this validation and reliability study show that the developed questionnaire has a satisfactory psychometric property for measuring KAP of patients diagnosed with AMD undergoing intravitreal injection treatment.展开更多

The research relies on the theory of full range leadership model and professional development and teaching practice. Design/methodology/approach-the questionnaires assessing the variables of interest were completed by 306 teachers in 22 Bedouin high schools in the Negev in south of Israel, in addition to an interview with 10 principals. As results of the study, hypotheses which expect a positive relationship between transformational and transactional leadership and professional development have been rejected. On the other hand hypothesis that expects no relationship between laissez-faire leadership and professional development and hypothesis which expects a positive relationship between professional development and teachers practice have been accepted.展开更多

The need for Advanced Practice Nurses is increasingly recognized globally. This paper describes the process, which was undertaken by School of Nursing Sciences, University of Zambia in reviewing and developing advanced practice nursing and midwifery curricula which will be implemented using the Early and Enhanced Clinical Exposure model (EECE). Materials and Methods: The curricula development/review process utilized a modified Taba’s Model which followed a step-by-step approach including: 1) desk review, 2) diagnosis of needs (needs assessment), 3) stakeholder consultations, 4) content development, 5) validations and approval from which several lessons were learnt and recommendations made. Findings and recommendations from different stages were used as a basis for reviewing and developing advanced practice nursing and midwifery curricula. Results: Desk review needs assessment and stakeholder consultations identified both strengths and weaknesses in the existing curricula. Major strengths were duration and core courses which met the minimum requirement for postgraduate nursing and midwifery training. Major weaknesses/gaps included some content that was too basic for the master’s level and the delayed exposure to practicum sites which limited the development of advanced practice skills. Others were inadequate competence for advanced practice, inadequate research methodology course, lack of content to foster development of personal soft skills and predominant use of traditional teaching methods. Stakeholders recommended implementing advanced, clinical and hands-on Masters of Nursing and Midwifery programmes which resulted in the review of four existing and development of five demand-driven curricula. Conclusion: The reviewed and developed curricula were strengthened to close the identified gaps. Both the reviewed and developed curricula have been implemented using the Early and Enhanced Clinical Exposure Model with a view to producing Advanced Practice Nurses and Midwives who are competent to meet diverse health care needs and contribute to improving patient outcomes.展开更多

Purpose:Strong primary health care(PHC)systems require well‐established PHC education systems to enhance the skills of general practitioners(GPs).However,the literature on the experiences of international collaborati...Purpose:Strong primary health care(PHC)systems require well‐established PHC education systems to enhance the skills of general practitioners(GPs).However,the literature on the experiences of international collaboration in primary care education in low‐and middle‐income countries remains limited.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the implementation and perceived impact of the McGill‐Tongji Blended Education Program for Teacher Leaders in General Practice(referred to as the“Tongji Program”).Methods:In 2020–2021,the McGill Department of Family Medicine(Montreal,Canada)and Tongji University School of Medicine(TUSM,Shanghai,China)jointly implemented the Tongji Program in Shanghai,China to improve the teaching capacity of PHC teachers.We conducted an exploratory longitudinal case study with a mixed methods design for the evaluation.Quantitative(QUAN)data was collected through questionnaire surveys and qualitative(QUAL)data was collected through focus group discussions.Results:The evaluation showed that learners in Tongji Program were primarily female GPs(21/22,95%)with less than 4 years of experience in teaching(16/22,73%).This program was considered a successful learning experience by most participants(19/22,86%)with higher order learning tasks such as critical thinking and problem‐solving.They also agreed that this program helped them feel more prepared to teach(21/22,95%),and developed a positive attitude toward primary care(21/22,95%).The QUAL interview revealed that both the Tongji and McGill organizers noted that TUSM showed strong leadership in organization,education,and coordination.Both students and teachers agreed that by adapting training content into contextualized delivery formats and settings,the Tongji Program successfully overcame language and technology barriers.Conclusions:Committed partnerships and contextualization were key to the success of the Tongji Program.Future research should focus on how international primary care education programs affect learners'behavior in their practice settings,and explore barriers and facilitators to change.展开更多

Stakeholders recommended implementing advanced, clinical and hands-on Masters of Nursing and Midwifery programmes which resulted in the review of four existing and development of five demand-driven curricula. Conclusion: The reviewed and developed curricula were strengthened to close the identified gaps. Both the reviewed and developed curricula have been implemented using the Early and Enhanced Clinical Exposure Model with a view to producing Advanced Practice Nurses and Midwives who are competent to meet diverse health care needs and contribute to improving patient outcomes.

文摘Open space has various implications in urban development planning and has been integrated in recent urban planning approaches and practices in Nepal.The open spaces are not only important for(re)shaping the urban form but are also important for enhancing urban social life and disaster risk management,particularly for dense cities.As most of the cities in Nepal have been growing haphazardly,the cities lack sufficient open space.However,the value of open space in dense cities like Kathmandu has been recognized more after the Gorkha Earthquake 2015 as the open spaces were extensively used for risk relief,treatment,recovery,and rehabilitation during and after the earthquake.With this background,this paper presents the major planning initiatives in Nepal and discusses how recent urban plans have provisioned and initiated open spaces development by reviewing concurrent urban planning practices,particularly reviewing Periodic Plans,Integrated Urban Development Plan,Smart City Plan,and Land Development Plan.The development of open areas has not been given much attention in the earlier urban planning practice but recent urban development planning has emphasized with a special focus which is very important for sustainable and safer city development and is expected to address the current bulging urban issues of spatiality and sociability.Therefore,it is very important for integrating open space implications in city planning and such open space should be conceptualized according to the city’s geography,landscape as well as socio-cultural contexts.
文摘The reform of undergraduate classroom teaching is well underway along with the continuous development of education reform in China.In regard to that,lecturers must promptly innovate teaching concepts and reform undergraduate classroom teachings with emphasis on student development so as to create a first-class teaching classroom experience and effectively address shortcomings in the undergraduate classroom teaching model.The improvement and optimization of teaching concepts fully reflect the main status of students.In this paper,the problems existing in the undergraduate classroom teaching are explored and analysed.A practical strategy for undergraduate classroom teaching reform centered on student development is proposed,hoping to help in students’overall development.

文摘Purpose:Strong primary health care(PHC)systems require well‐established PHC education systems to enhance the skills of general practitioners(GPs).However,the literature on the experiences of international collaboration in primary care education in low‐and middle‐income countries remains limited.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the implementation and perceived impact of the McGill‐Tongji Blended Education Program for Teacher Leaders in General Practice(referred to as the“Tongji Program”).Methods:In 2020–2021,the McGill Department of Family Medicine(Montreal,Canada)and Tongji University School of Medicine(TUSM,Shanghai,China)jointly implemented the Tongji Program in Shanghai,China to improve the teaching capacity of PHC teachers.We conducted an exploratory longitudinal case study with a mixed methods design for the evaluation.Quantitative(QUAN)data was collected through questionnaire surveys and qualitative(QUAL)data was collected through focus group discussions.Results:The evaluation showed that learners in Tongji Program were primarily female GPs(21/22,95%)with less than 4 years of experience in teaching(16/22,73%).This program was considered a successful learning experience by most participants(19/22,86%)with higher order learning tasks such as critical thinking and problem‐solving.They also agreed that this program helped them feel more prepared to teach(21/22,95%),and developed a positive attitude toward primary care(21/22,95%).The QUAL interview revealed that both the Tongji and McGill organizers noted that TUSM showed strong leadership in organization,education,and coordination.Both students and teachers agreed that by adapting training content into contextualized delivery formats and settings,the Tongji Program successfully overcame language and technology barriers.Conclusions:Committed partnerships and contextualization were key to the success of the Tongji Program.Future research should focus on how international primary care education programs affect learners'behavior in their practice settings,and explore barriers and facilitators to change.
文摘Under the background of“new engineering”construction,software engineering teaching pays more attention to cultivating students’engineering practice and innovation ability.In view of the inconsistency between development and demand design,team division of labor,difficult measurement of individual contribution,single assessment method,and other problems in traditional practice teaching,this paper proposes that under the guidance of agile development methods,software engineering courses should adopt Scrum framework to organize course project practice,use agile collaboration platform to implement individual work,follow up experiment progress,and ensure effective project advancement.The statistical data of curriculum“diversity”assessment show that there is an obvious improvement effect on students’software engineering ability and quality.
