Summary: To investigate the effects of WIN 55,212-2 on I K in cultured rat trigeminal ganglion (TG) neurons, whole-cell patch clamp techniques were used to record the I K before and after WIN 55,212-2 perfusion at different concentrations. 30 μmol/L WIN 55,212-2 markedly (35 7 %± 7 3 %, P<0.01, n=8) inhibited I K currents, and the currents were partially recovered after washing. 30 μmol/L WIN 55,212-2 also induced a significant depolarizing shift in conductance-voltage parameters (control: V 0 5=10 43 ± 4.25 mV, k=16 27±3 86; WIN 55,212-2: V 0.5=24.71±3.91 mV, k =16.69±2.75; n = 8, P<0.01 for V 0.5). 0.01 μmol/L WIN 55,212-2 slightly (27.0 %± 7.9 %, P<0.05, n=7) increased I K currents, but had no significant change in conductance–voltage parameters (control: V 0.5=10.74±5.27 mV, k=17.33±2.96; WIN 55,212-2: V 0.5=11.06±2.05 mV, k=19.69±6.60; n=7, P>0.05 for V 0.5 and k). Conclusions Angiotensin Ⅱexerts increased maximum current density of L - Ca in voltage dependent, captopril decreased maximum current density of L - Ca in voltage dependent, decreased sodium maximum current density, which is the prominently antiarrhythmia mechanisms through inhibition of angiotensin Ⅱ evoked calcium dependent transient inward current and calcium overload. 展开更多

With rapid economic development in China, demand for energy and transportation is growing. Due to the limitations of factors such as terrain and traffic, a large number of buried oil and gas pipelines are parallel to high- voltage transmission lines and electrified railways over long distances. Alternating pipelines is very serious in laboratory experiments were current (AC) corrosion of such cases. In this work, carried out with an electrochemical method in a simulated soil solution at various AC current densities from 0 to 200 A]m2 and AC frequencies from 10 to 200 Hz. Experimental results indicated that with an increase in the AC current density, the corrosion po- tential of an X60 steel electrode shifted negatively, the anodic current density increased significantly, and the corrosion rate increased. Moreover, with an increase in the AC frequency, the corrosion potential of the X60 electrode shifted positively and the anodic current density decreased, which led to a decrease in the corrosion rate. Furthermore, the morphology of X60 electrodes indicated that uniform corrosion occurred at a low AC current density; while corrosion pits were found on the X60 electrode surface at a high AC current density, and deep corrosion pits seriously damaged the pipelines and might lead to leakage. 展开更多

Based on the remote sensing images of algae, the present work analyzes the horizontal distribution characteristics of algal blooms in Chaohu Lake, China, which also reveals the frequency of algal blooms under different wind directions. Further, an unstructured-grid, three-dimensional finite-volume coastal ocean model (FVCOM) is applied to investigate the wind-induced currents and the transport pro- cess to explain the reason why algal blooms occur at the detected places. We first deduce the primary distribution of biomass from overlaid satellite images, and explain the formation mechanism by analyzing the pollution sources, and simulating the flow field and transportation process under prevailing wind over Chaohu Lake. And then, we consider the adjustment action of the wind on the corresponding day and develop a two-time scale approach to describe the whole formation process of algae horizontal distribution in Chaohu Lake. That is, on the longer time scale, i.e., during bloom season, prevailing wind determines the primary distribution of biomass by inducing the characteristic flow field; on the shorter time scale, i.e., on the day when bloom occurs, the wind force adjusts the primary distribution of biomass to form the final distribution of algal bloom. 展开更多

For obtaining pure phase T12Ba2Ca2Cu3O10 (T1-2223) films with good superconducting properties, the growth technique is improved by dc magnetron sputtering and a triple post-annealing process. The triple post-annealing process comprises annealing twice in argon and once in oxygen at different temperatures. In the first low-temperature annealing phase in argon, T12Ba2CaCu2O8 (T1-2212) is obtained to effectively minimize evaporation in the next step. With the increase of temperature in the second annealing stage in argon, the previously prepared T1-2212 inter-phase is converted into T1-2223 phase. An additional annealing in oxygen is also adopted to improve the properties of T1-2223 films, each containing an optimal oxygen content value. The results of X-ray diffraction (XRD) θ-2θ scans, 09 scans and rotational φ scans show that each of the T1-2223 films has a high phase purity and an epitaxial structure. Smooth films are observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The critical temperatures Tc of the films are measured to be about 120 K and the critical current densities Jc can reach 4.0 MA/cm2 at 77 K at self field. 展开更多

Multi-train modeling and simulation plays a vital role in railway electrification during operation and planning phase. Study of peak power demand and energy consumed by each traction substation needs to be deter- mined to verify that electrical energy flowing in its railway power feeding system is appropriate or not. Gauss-Seidel, conventional Newton-Raphson, and current injection methods are well-known and widely accepted as a tool for electrical power network solver in DC railway power supply study. In this paper, a simplified Newton-Raphson method has been proposed. The proposed method employs a set of current-balance equations at each electrical node instead of the conventional power-balance equation used in the conventional Newton-Raphson method. This concept can remarkably reduce execution time and computing complexity for multi-train simulation. To evaluate its use, Sukhumvit line of Bangkok transit system (BTS) of Thai- land with 21.6-km line length and 22 passenger stopping stations is set as a test system. The multi-train simulation integrated with the proposed power network solver is developed to simulate 1-h operation service of selected 5-min headway. From the obtained results, the proposed method is more efficient with approximately 18 % faster than the conventional Newton-Raphson method and just over 6 % faster than the current injection method. 展开更多

Direct current measurements at the mooring station M southwest of Yonakuni-jima are carried out from May 18 to June 1, 1996. The Observed Kuroshio Current at 290 and 594 m depths of the mooring station M is quite steady ddring the pened of Observation. The rotary spectral estimates of the current data by the maximum entropy method show that there are prominent diurnal and semidiurnal spectral peaks. The semidiurnal tide is predominant at 290 m depth while there is the current fluctuation with the inertial period except for the tidal oscillation at 594 m depth. There are also peaks at the pened of 4-7 d. There is a significant coherence between two time series of currents at 290 and 594 m depths in the pened range of 3 - 5 d. The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) wind data during the same period as the oceanic measurement are used in comparison with the current meter data. Rotary spectral estimates for the wind data show significant peaks at the period of 3 - 5 d. It is concluded from the cross spectra between the wind and the current that the current fluctuation of 3 - 5 d period at 290 m depth response to the wind fluctuation of the same periods with time lags smaller than 1 d. 展开更多

Multiple regression equations of liquidus temperature, electrical conductivity and bath density of the Na_3AlF_6-AlF_3-BaC1_2-NaCl system were obtained from experiments by using orthogonal regression method. The experiments were carried out in 100A cell with low melting point electrolyte, the influences of cathodic current density, electrolytic temperature, density differences of bath and liquid aluminum on current efficiency (CE) were studied; when the electrolyte cryolite ratio was 2.5, w(BaC1_2) and w(NaCl) were 48% and 10%, respectively, CE reached 90% and specific energy consumption was 10.97k Wb/kg/kg. Because of the fact that aluminum metal obtained floated on the surface of molten electrolyte, this electrolysis method was then defined as low temperature aluminum floating electrolysis. The results showed that the new low temperature aluminum electrolysis process in the Na_3AlF_6-AlF_3-BaC1_2-NaCl bath system was practical and promising. 展开更多

Solar Flare Activity and Variability of Electric Current Helicity

Recent study using Huairou vector magnetograph data shows that durlug flare activity, the current helicity exhibits rapid and substantial variations and, in some cases, a recovering phase. We considered various representative the magnetic configurations. First, interacting twisted magnetic flux tubes are analyzed separately for positive, negative and mixed-sign helicity regions. The results show that the helicity during flares decreases in positive-sign, and increases in negative-sign regions. Then, flaring arcade also shows that the magnitude of the helicity decreases after flares. We also investigated current sheets formed by sheared magnetic field and showed that the current helicity (with either positive and negative signs) vanishes after reconnection. The emergence of twisted flux tubes which can trigger flares may be another source of flare-associated variability of current helicity. We demonstrate the relevance of current helicity to the description of flare activity by comparing its variation with that of shear angle in the active region AR 6891. 展开更多

Large-scale magnetic structures are the main carrier of major eruptions in the solar atmosphere. Large-scale magnetic structures are the main carrier of major eruptions in the solar atmosphere. These structures are rooted in the photosphere and are driven by the unceasing motion of the photospheric material through a series of equilibrium configurations. The motion brings energy into the coronal magnetic field until the system ceases to be in equilibrium. The catastrophe theory for solar eruptions indicates that loss of mechanical equilibrium constitutes the main trigger mechanism of major eruptions, usually shown up as solar flares, eruptive prominences, and coronal mass ejections (CMEs). Magnetic reconnection which takes place at the very beginning of the eruption as a result of plasma instabilities/turbulence inside the current sheet, converts magnetic energy into heating and kinetic energy that are responsible for solar flares, and for accelerating both plasma ejecta (flows and CMEs) and energetic particles. Various manifestations are thus related to one another, and the physics behind these relationships is catastrophe and magnetic reconnection. This work reports on recent progress in both theoretical research and observations on eruptive phenomena showing the above manifestations. We start by displaying the properties of large-scale structures in the corona and the related magnetic fields prior to an eruption, and show various morphological features of the disrupting magnetic fields. Then, in the framework of the catastrophe theory, we look into the physics behind those features investigated in a succession of previous works, and discuss the approaches they used. 展开更多
