Damage Symptoms and Damage Degree of Main Diseases and Pests in Foxtail Millet in Chengde Area

The species of main diseases and pests in foxtail millet and their damage status were investigated in 15 survey points in Longhua, Weichang, Chengde, Fengning and Luanping counties, Chengde City from 2015 to 2017. It was preliminarily cleared that there were 11 species of main diseases and 8 species of pests in continuous cropping millet field. The diseases damaged severely were millet downy mildew and kernel smut, and pests were yellow-legged lema, millet shoot fly and soil insects. The results provided a scientific basis for green control of millet pests and diseases and safe production in Chengde area.

Effect of Shengmal Powder(生脉散) on Symptoms and Markers of Inflammatory Damage of Patients with Acute Viral Myocarditis

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of Sheng-mai Power (SMP) in treating acute viral myocarditis. Methods: 102 patients with acute viral myocarditis were randomized to SMS group (n = 52) and placebo control group (n = 50 ). Semiquantitative integral methods were taken to observe changes of clinical symptoms such as dyspnea, palpitation and chest pain after 4 weeks of treatment, simultaneously EKG, 24h Holter, concentration of serum cardiac troponin-I, cardiac troponin T and neutralizing antibody test to the Coxsackie B virus were determined. Results: Dyspnea improved much more obvious in SMP group than in the placebo

[ Objective] The study aimed to research the identification of Persimmon anthracnose and its controlling methods.[ Method ] The pathogen and characteristics, infection and occurrence law, damage symptoms of persimmon anthracnose were stated simply and the methods for con- trolling the disease were summed up. [ Result] The pathogen of Persimmon anthracnose was Gloeospor/um kaki Hod, belonging to Deuteromycotina. Germination and invasion of the conidia, sporulation and growth of mycelium all required high temperature, with the optimum temperature of 25 ℃ and the lethal temperature of 50 ℃ （10 min）. The occurrence strength of Persimmon anthracnose related with the factors including host, environment, culture circumstances, mainly doing harm to the fruits and branches. The occurrence of the disease could be controlled by such agricultur- al measures as cleaning the orchard, using the resistant varieties and planting the disease-free seedlings, adopting the balanced fertilization, improving the irrigation and drainage systems, conducting the dense planting and thin branches, building garden using the seedling that grafting on planted stock and raising the grafted parts of the stock. When the incidence was heavy, it needed to spray the fungicides or protective agent for the control of the Persimmon anthracnose. The fungicides should be mainly sprayed on the lesion of shoot, fruit surface and branches. [ Conclusion] The study provided the reference for the control of the Persimmon anthracnose.

Study on Sugarcane Smut

The pathogen and characteristics, infection cycle, occurrence regularity and damage symptoms of sugarcane smut were introduced in the paper. Moreover, the comprehensive prevention measures were proposed on the basis of planting disease-resistant species, strengthening cultivation managements to improve dis- ease-resistant ability of sugarcane, and adopting fungicide control as assistant measures. The study provided certain basis for reducing damages of sugarcane smut and imorovin yield and quality of sugarcane.

The pathogen, characteristics, pathogenic mechanism, infection cycle, occurrence regularity and damage symptom of cotton Verticillium wilt are expounded in the paper. The paper puts forward the strategy of protecting disease-free area first, planting resistant varieties and rational rotation in severe area and strengthening the field management, as well as combining with biological control and chemical control methods to effectively control infection and spread of pathogen, so as to provide certain theoretical basis for reducing the damage of cotton Verticillium wilt and improving yield and quality of cotton.
