The shortage of fresh water in the world has brought upon a serious crisis to human health and economic development.Solar‐driven interfacial photothermal conversion water evaporation including evaporating seawater,lake water,or river water has been recognized as an environmentally friendly process for obtaining clean water in a low‐cost way.However,water transport is restricted by itself by solar energy absorption capacity's limits,especially for finite evaporation rates and insufficient working life.Therefore,it is important to seek photothermal conversion materials that can efficiently absorb solar energy and reasonably design solar‐driven interfacial photothermal conversion water evaporation devices.This paper reviews the research progress of carbon‐based photothermal conversion materials and the mechanism for solar‐driven interfacial photothermal conversion water evaporation,as well as the summary of the design and development of the devices.Based on the research progress and achievements of photothermal conversion materials and devices in the fields of seawater desalination and photothermal electric energy generation in recent years,the challenges and opportunities faced by carbon‐based photothermal conversion materials and devices are discussed.The prospect of the practical application of solar‐driven interfacial photothermal conversion evaporation technology is foreseen,and theoretical guidance is provided for the further development of this technology.

Application of Flipped Classroom Teaching Model Based on Micro-Course in Practical Training Teaching of Contact Lens Fitting Technology

Objective:This paper aims to study the application of flipped classroom teaching model based on micro-course in the practical training teaching of contact lens fitting technology.Methods:From September 21 to July 23,120 students majoring in ophthalmology and optometry were selected and randomly divided into groups.The control group adopted the traditional teaching mode,and the study group adopted the flipped classroom teaching mode based on micro-course.Teaching scores and the skills,observation and judgment,adaptability,and communication skills were compared between the groups.Results:Statistical comparison of teaching scores under different management methods showed that the clinical thinking score and practice work quality in the study group were higher than those of the control group,and the effect of the study group was better(P<0.05).The overall scores of skills,observation and judgment,adaptability,and communication skills of the study group were better than those in the control group,and the comprehensive ability scores in the two groups were significantly different(P<0.05).Conclusion:In practical training teaching of contact lens fitting technology,the application of flipped classroom teaching based on micro-course can improve the skill scores of personnel,and the overall effect is good.This can lay the foundation for advanced ophthalmology and optometry talents with profound theoretical knowledge and professional skills.

Application of Task-based Approach in College English Vocabulary Teaching

With the rapid development of economy and society,more and more people pay attention to English teaching.Vocabulary,the basic unit of language,is regarded as the center of language teaching by many linguists and educators.For Chinese students,vocabulary learning is also the most difficult and important problem in language learning.Unlike that in English-speaking countries,there is an absence of a foreign language environment for Chinese students,and most of their vocabulary is derived from classroom learning.Thus it is necessary to find an effective method to deal with vocabulary teaching.It analyzes college English vocabulary teaching,as college students have formed the corresponding language skills with more suitability.For a long time,students develop the habit of memorizing words repeatedly,consuming a lot of time,but the result is not satisfactory.Faced with this phenomenon,this paper analyzes the problems existing in College English vocabulary teaching and explores the reasons of the problems.Then it analyzes the application of task-based approach in college English vocabulary teaching.

Review: Progress in the Preparation of Iron Based Magnetic Nanoparticles for Biomedical Applications

With unique physical properties, chemical properties, and biological effects, magnetic nanomaterials are important functional materials in many fields. In the past decades, iron based magnetic nanomaterials have attracted much attention in the biomedicine field due to their superior magnetic properties and great potential in biomedical applications. In particular, magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles(MIONPs) have been playing a crucial role in the biomedicine field because of their diagnostic and therapeutic functions. Meanwhile, MIONPs are benign, low toxic, biocompatible, and biodegradable, so they are the only inorganic magnetic nanomaterials approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration(FDA) for clinical use at present. In this review, we mainly introduce the progress in the preparation of iron based magnetic nanomaterials for biomedical applications, including pure iron nanoparticles, iron-based alloy nanoparticles, and MIONPs, with a focus on MIONPs. Also, we summarize the preparation methods of MIONPs and point out the importance of their developments.

Multibeam Antenna Based on Butler Matrix for 3G/LTE/5G/B5G Base Station Applications

With the rapid development of mobile communication technology and the explosion of data traffic,high capacity communication with high data transmission rate is urgently needed in densely populated areas.Since multibeam antennas are able to increase the communication capacity and support a high data transmission rate,they have attracted a lot of research interest and have been actively investigated for base station applications.In addition,since multi-beam antennas based on Butler matrix(MABBMs)have the advantages of high gain,easy design and low profile,they are suitable for base station applications.The purposes of this paper is to provide an overview of the existing MABBMs.The specifications,principles of operation,design method and implementation of MABBMs are presented.The challenge of MABBMs for 3G/LTE/5G/B5G base station applications is discussed in the end.

The Application of Task-based Language Learning in English Teaching

Task-based Language Teaching(TBLT) proved to be an influential teaching approach in second language acquisition recent years. Yet, TBLT came into being with certain culture background, it can't be applied randomly and mechanically. This paper precisely introduces the task-based language learning and reviews the literature on the basic pedagogical theories of TBLT,then briefly introduces the framework of Willis for TBLT, and takes a small size group of middle school students as an example.It mainly aims to discuss the application of Task-based language learning in the classroom and through analyzing the disadvantages of task-based language teaching to find out a successful approach to implement TBLT.

Services and Applications Based on Mobile User’s Location Detection and Prediction

Many wireless applications are deployed and available to customers via their mobile phones. Variety of these applications and services are based on determination of the current or future location of mobile user. Location based services (LBS) are one of the vital applications which are subdivided into two main categories: economical category and public category. Economic applications include mobile marketing, entertainment and tracking applications. Whereas, emergency cases, safety, traffic management, Muslims’ applications and public information applications are sort of public applications. The first part of the paper presents a new proposed system with developed procedure to recreate public and economic applications with high positioning accuracy and good authentication of users’ data. The developed system is created to enhance both location based services and network allocation resources within mobile network platform using either normal or GPS supported mobile equipment. The second part of the paper introduces future location prediction of mobile user dependent applications. New algorithm is developed depending on utilizing both intra-cell Movement Pattern algorithm (ICMP) [1] and hybrid uplink time Difference of Arrival and Assisted GPS technique (UTDOA_AGPS) [2]. It has been noticed that ICMP algorithm outperforms other future location prediction algorithms with high precision and within suitable time (less than 220) msec. However, UTDOA_AGPS guarantees high precession of mobile user independent of the surrounding environment. The proposed technique is used to enhance reliability and efficiency of location based services using cellular network platform.

Testability Estimation of Framework Based Applications

Quality of software systems is highly demanded in today’s scenario. Highly testable system enhances the reliability also. More than 50% of test effort-time and cost are used to produce a highly testable system. Thus, design-for-testability is needed to reduce the test effort. In order to enhance the quality, productivity and reduced cost of the software organizations are promoting to produce the reuse-oriented products. Incorporating reuse technology in both aspects-software development process and test process may payoff many folds. Keeping this view, our study focus the testability of the object-oriented framework based software systems and identify that flexibility at the variable points of the object-oriented framework, chosen for framework instantiation, greatly affects the testability of object-oriented framework based software at each level of testing. In the current paper, we propose a testability model considering the flexible aspect of the variable point to estimate testability in the early phase, requirement analysis phase, of development process of the framework based software. The proposed model helps to improve the testability of the software before the implementation starts thus reducing the overall development cost.

A Novel Lifecycle Model for Web-based Application Development in Small and Medium Enterprises

Software engineering＇s lifecycle models havc proven to be very important for traditional software development. However, can these models be applied to the development of Web-based applications as well？ In recent years, Web-based applications have become more and more complicated and a lot of efforts have been placed on introducing new technologies such as J2EE, PhP, and .NET, etc., which have been universally accepted as the development technologies for Web-based applications. However, there is no universally accepted process model for the development of Web-based applications. Moreover, shaping the process model for small medium-sized enterprises （SMEs）, which have limited resources, has been relatively neglected. Based on our previous work, this paper presents an expanded lifecycle process model for the development of Web-based applications in SMEs. It consists of three sets of processes, i.e., requirement processes, development processes, and evolution processes. Particularly, the post-delivery evolution processes are important to SMEs to develop and maintain quality web applications with limited resources and time.

GROWTH ESTIMATES FOR SINE-TYPE-FUNCTIONS AND APPLICATIONS TO RIESZ BASES OF EXPONENTIALS

We present explicit estimates for the growth of sine-type-functions as well as for the derivatives at their zero sets, thus obtaining explicit constants in a result of Levin. The estimates are then used to derive explicit lower bounds for exponential Riesz bases, as they arise in Avdonin's Theorem on 1/4 in the mean or in a Theorem, of Bogmtr, Horvath, Job and Seip. An application is discussed, where knowledge of explicit lower bounds of exponential Riese bases is desirable.

Artificial Neural Network Method Based on Expert Knowledge and Its Application to Quantitative Identification of Potential Seismic Sources

In this paper,an approach is developed to optimize the quality of the training samples in the conventional Artificial Neural Network(ANN)by incorporating expert knowledge in the means of constructing expert-rule samples from rules in an expert system,and through training by using these samples,an ANN based on expert-knowledge is further developed.The method is introduced into the field of quantitative identification of potential seismic sources on the basis of the rules in an expert system.Then it is applied to the quantitative identification of the potential seismic sources in Beijing and its adjacent area.The result indicates that the expert rule based on ANN method can well incorporate and represent the expert knowledge in the rules in an expert system,and the quality of the samples and the efficiency of training and the accuracy of the result are optimized.

Password-Based Group Key Agreement Protocol for Client-Server Application

The security issue is always the most important concern of networked client-server application. On the putpose to build the secure group communication among of a group of client users and one server, in this paper, we will present a new password-based group key agreement protocol. Our protocol will meet simplicity, efficiency, and many desired security properties.

Development of long-wavelength infrared detector and its space-based application requirements

Infrared detection technology has greatly expanded the ability of mankind to study the earth and the universe. In recent years, the demand for long-wavelength infrared detectors is increasing for their advantages in exploring the earth and the universe. A variety of long-wavelength infrared detectors have been made based on thermal resistive effect, photoelectric effect, etc., in the past few decades. Remarkable achievements have been made in infrared materials, device fabrication,readout circuit, and device package. However, high performance long-wavelength infrared detectors, especially those for large format long-wavelength infrared detector focus plane array, are still unsatisfactory. Low noise, high detectivity, and large format long-wavelength infrared detector is necessary to satisfy space-based application requirements.

Properties and Application of Iron-based Shape Memory Alloy

The properties of FeMnSiCrNi shape memory alloy were investigated. The results show that the best shape memory effect of Fe14Mn6Si9Cr5Ni alloy is 85%. The transformation amount of the ε→γ transformation is not complete after heating the alloy to 1000 K, As and Af points drop with increased transformation enthalpy (ΔH γ→ε ) by thermal cycling and increased prestrain. The alloy shows also good creep and stress relaxation resistance. In addition, the alloy having a tensile force of 20 kN and a sealing pressure of 6 MPa can satisfy requirements for possible industrial application on pipe joints.

Proactive Personalized Services Through Fog-Cloud Computing in Large-Scale IoT-Based Healthcare Application

With the development of medical sensors and IoT, personalized service assisted elder and patient living is a critical service in IoT-based healthcare application. However, the scale and complexity of personalized service is increasing because of ubiquitous deployment of various kinds of medical sensors, which cause response time increase and resource waste. Therefore, leveraging the advantage of complex event processing(CEP) in data stream processing, we propose a hierarchical fog-cloud computing CEP architecture for personalized service to accelerate response time and reduce resource waste. Firstly, we introduce the proposed architecture, which includes sensor layer, fog layer and cloud layer. Secondly, we propose a series of optimizations for the architecture, there are a partitioning and clustering approach and a communication and parallel processing policy to optimize the fog and cloud computing. Finally, we implement a prototype system based on the architecture named Fog Cep Care. Experimental result shows that Fog Cep Care is superior to the traditional IoT-based healthcare application.
