With the development of the digital city,data and data analysis have become more and more important.The database is the foundation of data analysis.In this paper,the software system of the urban land planning database of Shanghai in China is developed based on MySQL.The conceptual model of the urban land planning database is proposed,and the entities,attributes and connections of this model are discussed.Then the E-R conceptual model is transformed into a logical structure,which is supported by the relational databasemanagement system(DBMS).Based on the conceptual and logical structures,by using Spring Boot as the back-end framework and using MySQL and Java API as the development tools,a platformwith datamanagement,information sharing,map assistance and other functions is established.The functionalmodules in this platformare designed.The results of J Meter test show that the DBMS can add,store and retrieve information data stably,and it has the advantages of fast response and low error rate.The software system of the urban land planning database developed in this paper can improve the efficiency of storing and managing land data,eliminating redundant data and sharing data. 展开更多

An opinion is introduced that the mobile database is a kind of dynamicdistributed database, and the concept of virtual servers to translate the clients' mobility to theservers' mobility is proposed. Based on these opinions, a kind of architecture of mobile DBMS, whichis of versatility, is presented. The architecture is composed of a virtual server and a local DBMS,the virtual server is the kernel of the architecture and its functions are described. In the context of a proliferation of DatabaseManagement Systems(DBMSs),we have envisioned and produced an OWL 2 ontology able to provide a high-level machine-processable description of the DBMSs domain.This conceptualization aims to facilitate a proper execution of various software engineering processes and database-focused administration tasks.Also,it can be used to improve the decision-making process for determining/selecting the appropriate DBMS,subject to specific requirements.The proposed model describes the most important features and aspects regarding the DBMS domain,including the support for various paradigms(relational,graph-based,key-value,tree-like,etc.),query languages,platforms(servers),plus running environments(desktop,Web,cloud),specific contexts—i.e.,focusing on optimizing queries,redundancy,security,performance,schema vs.schema-less approaches,programming languages/paradigms,and others.The process of populating the ontology with significant individuals(actual DBMSs)benefits from the existing knowledge exposed by free and open machine-processable knowledge bases,by using structured data fromWikipedia and related sources.The pragmatic use of our ontology is demonstrated by two educational software solutions based on current practices in Web application development,proving support for learning and experimenting key features of the actual semantic Web technologies and tools.This approach is also an example of using multiple knowledge from database systems,semanticWeb technologies,and software engineering areas. 展开更多

The efficiency and performance of Distributed Database Management Systems (DDBMS) is mainly measured by its proper design and by network communication cost between sites. Fragmentation and distribution of data are the major design issues of the DDBMS. In this paper, we propose new approach that integrates both fragmentation and data allocation in one strategy based on high performance clustering technique and transaction processing cost functions. This new approach achieves efficiently and effectively the objectives of data fragmentation, data allocation and network sites clustering. The approach splits the data relations into pair-wise disjoint fragments and determine whether each fragment has to be allocated or not in the network sites, where allocation benefit outweighs the cost depending on high performance clustering technique. To show the performance of the proposed approach, we performed experimental studies on real database application at different networks connectivity. The obtained results proved to achieve minimum total data transaction costs between different sites, reduced the amount of redundant data to be accessed between these sites and improved the overall DDBMS performance. 展开更多

So, necessity of concurrency improvement among transactions is increasing. In general database management system, many techniques have been studied to solve concurrency problem of transaction. Among them, multi version algorithm does to minimize interference among transactions. However, to apply existent multi version algorithm to improve concurrency of transaction to spatial database management system, the waste of storage happens because it must store entire version for spatial record even if only aspatial data of spatial record is changed. This paper has proposed the record management techniques to manage separating aspatial data version and spatial data version to decrease waste of storage for record version and improve concurrency among transactions. 展开更多

Mining companies are mandatory to perform the environmental management efforts to minimize the negative impact to the environment and pursue sustainability of post-mining land use and as much as possible to restore land to the initial conditions. There are many challenges on management multi parameter and multi temporal spatial data of environmental management. The aim of this research is to design the GIS database template for environmental management in Indonesia’s mining operation. This GIS database is designed using ArcCatalog ArcGIS 9.3 software, through following steps: inventory and assessment government regulations, inventory and assessment environmental quality standards, sorting and grouping parameters, design feature class and attribute, create GIS database, create GIS database dictionary. According to research result, GIS database template has many advantages for environmental management include integrated into a single database, avoid redundancy data, reduce volume data, uniformity data, easy to find and track data, integrated spatial and attribute data, can be used as an input for GIS analysis for decision-making and development strategies. 展开更多

Blockchain provides highly secure and reliable data access environment. In blockchain, several data fragments are packed into one block and all blocks are connected to form the chain of blocks. In our prototype, each event of resident such as birth, moving, employment and so on, is assigned to data fragment and certain amount of data fragment, says 20 fragments are packed into block. We also developed the web application interface to avoid installing any applications in users’ PC or smartphone. Prototype development proved the possibility to use the blockchain technology to large amount of data management system with highly secure and reliable features. 展开更多

This paper presents a domain engineering approach to build a software product line that supports the change notification service in a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) according to the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices. For the development of this product line, the proposed approach makes use of a construction of products methodology by analogy: this is a new notation which reports the variability of the products, obtaining metrics as important as the number of products and uses a language that enables, by means of the flexibilization of a product and the development of some generators, to build the rest of the product line. In addition the paper offers a standard for the analysis and design of the CMDB as well. This article describes the design and implementation of Residents Life Event Management System (hereinafter called as RLEMS) with high level reliability and security by blockchain technology. The data access environment provided by blockchain is highly secure and trustworthy. In Blockchain system, some data fragments are grouped into one piece called as <i>blocks</i>, and all blocks are connected to create a chain of blocks in database. When blocks are connected, hash value is used to connect blocks properly. Blockchain technology enables highly secure and reliable data management system under relatively poor ICT environment. For example, developing countries such as African countries do not have sufficient ICT environment. Therefore adopting blockchain technology is suitable for such countries. Based on this consideration, we have started to build RLEMS on the blockchain system. In previous work, we used the MultiChain as a blockchain platform. However, as MultiChain platform is mainly for private blockchain system, it is not suitable for government-level data management system. Therefore, we tried to use another blockchain framework. We selected Hyperledger Fabric which was developed by Linux Foundation. It enables to implement all styles of blockchain system. This article describes the design and implementation of RLEMS by using Hyperledger Fabric. Furthermore, to provide the best user experience, we also built the web application interface with Java web application framework named PrimeFace. The implementation of a prototype revealed that the Hyperledger Fabric blockchain technology is more suitable than MultiChain. 展开更多

The national environmental management information system will base on REMIS.Functional analysis is the kernel of the REMIS system analysis. Data and data flow analysis are used to support the functional analysis.Investigations on the functions of the local EPAs of eight provinces and 12 cities have been taken. The functions were carefully sorted. Modular design method was used in system analysis and system design.The system analysis included functional analysis, data analysis and data flow analysis. The system design is based on the system analysis. HIPO diagram of each modular, data base structure, menu design, selection of hardware and software environment were the main items of the system design. 展开更多

The basic procedure of the Italian Civil Protection Department aims at reducing disaster losses by giving prominence to a proactive strategy, focusing on prevision and prevention of hazard events rather than postdisater activities. Italian law commits municipalities to produce Emergency Plans that include risk scenarios as well as all data required for emergency management, such as structures, infrastructures and human resources. However the law in the matter of Civil Protection does not supply information about how to produce and archive necessary data for emergency planning and management. For this reason, we propose a standard methodology to create a geodatabase using GIS software, to collect all data that could be used by municipalities to create Emergency Plans. The resulting geodatabase provides a tool for hazard mitigation planning, allowing not only the identification of areas at risk, but also the structures, infrastructures and resources needed to overcome a crisis, thus improving all strategies of risk reduction and the resilience of the system [1]. 展开更多

Population growth and rapid urbanization have caused an exponential increase in urban land demand in Ethiopia.The information required for land administration and management has been tremendously increasing as well.Therefore,this paper describes the steps for a building database prototype for urban land information management system for the case of Ethiopia which results to develop an efficient and effective way of spatial and non-spatial urban land data management system.This research project will develop a central database system using a PostgreSQL software to retrieve,update and store the required data using a user-friendly graphical interface.System requirement and specification is devoted to a system design which incorporates the intended system behaviour using a use case diagram,logical design of the system using a class diagram.The design system is validated and tested via sample data which can store,retrieve,and update the required data as per the user requirement.Developing this type of urban land information management system,therefore,facilitates and increases the efficiency of land registration and related activities at the municipality level.Thence,citizens would be satisfied by the service delivery of the municipality.The land and real estate ownerships registration will also become automated.Furthermore,any spatial and non-spatial data related with the system can be stored in the database which will be ready for more analysis as to be able to use by policymakers,urban planners for the purpose of sustainable development of urban area infrastructural developments and land use policy.The research will lay ground for another task to develop CityGML 3D modelling for selected cities thereby contributes to spatial data infrastructure development to Ethiopia. 展开更多
